I know this sounds silly but the term "matches are made in heaven" does it have any relevance in Islam?

Basicly means that the joining of two people was pre-detined aka b4 they were born. And as the word 'heaven' is in there one would assume the match was made by God himself.
So that just leaves how you wish to interpretate the above ^^.
Do we believe in destiny?
Do you believe that theres someone out there for everyone?
Do you believe such relationships would be created by Allah(swt)?
I think you can draw your own conclusion on this one.

I concur with my associate SuperTed.
The term "born with a spoon in one's mouth" though derogatory is not desciptive of the person - but rather the environment in which said person comes from.
The term is inseperably tied to the status of wealth - and not the characteristic of snobishness.
The term "Snob" for sake of definition is this:

3. You must demonstrate that I patronize, ignore, rebuff, or ignore others on the basis that I believe them socially, or intellectually inferior - this is the ding-an-sich of the matter, the motive of the intentional and consistent behavior
4. The behavior must be offensive.
Thus the mere existence of a heightened economic status (born with a spoon in one's mouth) cannot be equated - and was not equated with snobbishness in the case of MuslimSister's opinion.
Dawuds interpretation of the situation is instruction in this regard as he clearly outlines the difference between actual economic position and the perception that as a consquence I believe I am "superior" and that it falls under each criterion listed above.
