i dont get u Med. on the one hand, u write all these empathetic posts on the 'arranged marriage' thread, then u go and say something like that^!
i hope u realise that the view u just expressed up there is completely against islamic principles. in fact we have got a blatant reminder of this in the Quran!
"And among His Signs is this, that He created for you mates from among yourselves that you may dwell in tranquility with them, and He has put love and mercy between your (hearts). Verily in that are Signs for those who reflect" (30: 21)
and theres no need to bite naj's head off. she made absolutely no reference to your wife - u brought that up!

yeah i agree there, I read in todays newspaper that due to people going on crazy diets its causing NHS billions of pounds, and recently they discovered that atikins diet is causing heart problems as well. So healthy eating and at regular interval doesn't mess up your metabolism.

Hmm... that's tricky
How do you love somebody if you don't know them?
And if you know them and you love them and want to marry them then you have loved them at some point outside marriage.
Or are you saying romantic love expressed physically is only allowed through marriage?

wel to get the best anser ud probably hav to ask yashmaki as she's married.
but i'd say: in Islam, ur not meant to marry someone u 'dont know' anyway! u can (and should) meet them as many times as u want, chat as much as u want (within certain boundaries) etc.
There are many hadith which encourage this, e.g.
Once a companion told the Prophet that he was going to get married. The Prophet asked if he had seen her. When the man said no, he said:
"Go and look at her for it is more likely to engender love between the two of you."

What I did was massage oil into my hair (well I got my mom and gran to do that), drank a glass of milk every night (which my dad forced down my throat) and had seven almonds (they have to be left in water overnight) first thing in the morning (don't ask why seven almonds, I have no idea).
But I think the most important thing I did was not to stress whenever I saw huge chunks of hair falling out, I know it is hard and you start freaking out 'cause you think you are going bald. But I feel the more you stress the more your hair fall out, just ignore them (which I know is hard to do).
If the almond thingy doesn't work or it doesn't appeal to you go to the doctors and ask them to check that, sometimes they give you this special shampoo to use.
BUT most importantly don't stress over your hair loss.
Do you sit at the computer most of your time? If so that could be the cause of your eyes being sore, take a break every hour away from the computer and if possible use it less.
can't sleep... hmmm I don't now how I can help you there, try to have regular pattern and try not to take afternoon nap thats the worst as you can't go to sleep in the night.

Just had my proposal today for that ginormic paper i've been researching - oh my God they ripped me to shreds
Well the one professor did.
His points were all perfectly valid but it was aaaaawkward.
lol the one prof was saying all the things that were wrong with my proposal - especially the thesis and when he finished he basically said I needed a more contentious issue (like a position paper) rather than just a recitation of facts (like a research paper) and he concluded his argument by saying "and I think you're in agreement with me (to the other prof) on this"
At which point the other professor, and chair of the dept looked up really seriously and said "no" and told me the polar opposite and that he liked my thesis.
lol at which point the other prof was obviously insulted and they did some academic bickering, meanwhile I slunked down in my chair wondering precisely how to get out of this mess without offending either.

Bad day
