So I bought 'The Rumi Collection' and 'Mathnawi' instead.

The works of Rumi is fantastic…he is loved even by the non Muslims. I borrowed the first volume of the Mathnawi from a mate once….but the English was SO difficult to understand. It was written in this posh/very old English.

I usually buy his poems/summarised versions of the Mathnawi.

I wasn't whispering. I was thinking out loud, hence the ** marks.

Perhaps we should stop now cuz this is weird

Rumi was the greatest lover of God

very famous for the muslims/non muslims

he knew all about love

mentioning him isnt going off topic at all

aye ive heard a lot about this man, and Inshallah i wish to read some of his books

avaialable at Rumi Books no doubt, they've got a lot of his books Smile

do you know the extreme lengths i have to go, just so that i can read what your are writing in teeny weeny sizes? im already blind as a bat as it is!!!

The Lover is ever drunk with love;
He is free, he is mad,
He dances with ecstasy and delight.

Caught by our own thoughts,
We worry about every little thing,
But once we get drunk on that love,
Whatever will be, will be.

to what extent do you reckon its true, if it all:

"better to loved and lost, than to never have loved at all"

is it one of those things that yu should stay away from entirely, or can you actually learn something from the past?

The Lover is ever drunk with love;
He is free, he is mad,
He dances with ecstasy and delight.

Caught by our own thoughts,
We worry about every little thing,
But once we get drunk on that love,
Whatever will be, will be.

That saying is not true.

That which is lost was never love.

You can never lose in love.

Love always wins.

I agree. Too many people misuse and abuse this concept.

True love is lasts forever.

The Holy Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam (Peace and Blessings be upon him) still dearly loved his wife Hadrat Khadija (ra) even after she passed away and He remarried...He spoke about her fondly and respected her sister who reminded Him of her...

Waslaam

true true

ok, i'll rephrase.......does experience help u learn for next time?

The Lover is ever drunk with love;
He is free, he is mad,
He dances with ecstasy and delight.

Caught by our own thoughts,
We worry about every little thing,

Prophet (pbuh) loved hadrat Aisha (ra) a lot

no doubt Holy Prophet salallahu alayhi wa sallam DID love Ammi Aisha radhiyallahu anha. But even then, Sayyidatuna Aisha radhiyallahu anha has narrated that Holy Prophet salallahu alayhi wa sallam loved Ammi Khadeejah tul Kubra radhiyallahu anha the most.

no one knows what love really is people get it mixed with hollywood and lust, personally i think you grow to love someone , love at first sight is a hollywood myth
