NO TOPIC the Third
Well This is the new new No Topic Topic. 😛
For those who do not know, this place is to talk about nothing. Nada. Zilch. And everything else which according to you does not deserve it's own topic. (Or you could choose to make a blog post)
The other one was getting a bit long... So we have a new start.

A beautiful sister in a proper hijab talking about
the daily racism she faces in an American University:
But she seems quite a cheerful person. God bless her. Thats what we need to see.
I recommend everyone to watch her video message.
You can email her if you have comments or critcisms about her message.
She is the president of students union.

Stop lying to yourself!
Also, re: Mez and Seraph being brother and sister. Thank goodness for that! The frequent playful arguing was getting to the stage where I was about to ask Allah (swt) to forgive you both!

Re: NO TOPIC the Third
Yay! Was very excellent!!
And a tour of the two Palaces of the Caliphs has given me a lot of ammunition if I'm approached by HT ever again.
Really, anyone who thinks the lack of Caliphate is the answer to ANY problems in the Muslim world, just needs to visit Istanbul and will realise they are very, very mistaken.

Re: NO TOPIC the Third
Just a quick question...
When one sneezes they are supposed to say “Yarhamukallah” aren't they? And someone else who hears is supposed to reply with “Alhamdulillah”?? And not the other way round??
Noor Thu, 13 Nov 2008 - 19:29
Re: NO TOPIC the Third
nope. other way round
Ya'qub Thu, 13 Nov 2008 - 19:29
Re: NO TOPIC the Third
When someone sneezes it is a sunnah that they say 'Alhmadulillah'.
If you hear someone sneeze and then say 'Alhamdulillah' then it is an obligation to say 'Yarhamukallah'.
That is my understanding. Have you been going around saying it the other way round all this time?
Noor Thu, 13 Nov 2008 - 19:30
Re: NO TOPIC the Third
and u only say yarhamkuallah if the person says allhamdullilah
Imaani Thu, 13 Nov 2008 - 19:32
Re: NO TOPIC the Third
erm, yeah Ya'qub.
Well first I used to say 'Alhamdulillah', then I read somewhere I should say 'Yarhamukallah' and then the other person should say 'Alhamdulillah' so that's what I do.
I've got a really bad cold today.
Noor Thu, 13 Nov 2008 - 19:39
Re: NO TOPIC the Third
thats wrong.
after the person has said yarhamukullah the sneezer should say something back in return. cant remember what though
You Thu, 13 Nov 2008 - 19:48
Re: NO TOPIC the Third
Not sure what the "next reply" is - its something like "Yasdeekumullah wa yuslihu Baalakum" - no idea if that is how its pronounced or what it means.
Noor Thu, 13 Nov 2008 - 19:49
Re: NO TOPIC the Third
lol. i dont say it cz i cant pronounce it
Ya'qub Thu, 13 Nov 2008 - 19:49
Re: NO TOPIC the Third
That's right, but its not an obligation. I just normally cover it up by sneezing again!

Re: NO TOPIC the Third
YahdeekumuLlah
or
YahdeekumuLlah wa yuslihu Baalakum
"yuslihu Baalakum" is really nice, it means may He solve your problems.
I'm researching marine energy developers for my final year project and one company has called their device 'Delbouy'. HAHAHAHA 😃 Trust me, after a solemn morning of making notes on characteristics and methods of energy harnessing and conversion, 'Delbouy' is hillarious!

Re: NO TOPIC the Third
don't know.
I would argue the latter - less intelligent, however they have more time to just lie around and ponder.
Or if they are working, they need to make more decisions as to importance and only do the most important.

Re: NO TOPIC the Third
Who are we? What are we?
Its the question of defining your identity.
Are you white, black, tanned, greay, yellow or blue?
Are you English, British, Paki, Indian, French, Israeli or American?
Are you Muslim, Christians, Jewish, Hindu, Taoist or Atheist?
This was in today's Independent newspaper:

Re: NO TOPIC the Third
I dont think its boring, in fact i think it makes an interesting read. I dont understand why Britain are intent on labelling ppl as one thing or the other. Why cant ppl see us for our good character and skills/abilities. Why does it have to be the "fat" one, the "brown" one, the "gori/gora", the one with a "cloth" on her head.
@Lampy havent you applied to study law? ONE case judgement is about 15/16 pages long. If your struggling to read this article (which there is a very good chance that this might come up in one of the subjects on your ungrad in uni) then your gonna struggle on the law degree. Get in the habit now, makes life a lot easier.
