ok, say if someone is delivering a study circle or talking about a particular topic but does not practice what they preach and the only reason they are saying what they are saying is so that the person can benefit and learn something. now should that person stop because they would be classed as a hypocrite or carry on knowing that you are their only source of guidence/knowledge?
The best thing is to stop teaching until you've begun practising what you're teaching. If you can't do that, then teach with stories. Make it plain that this is something that this person or that person did. If you can't do that, then I suppose you could carry on teaching but this would be the emptiest form in my opinion.
Teaching is not the imparting of information. A book can do that. Teaching is like mentoring, you place the sun next to the plant and the plant takes whatever it takes from the sun and grows. This is proper teaching,
e.g. child language aquisition. The child has the company of those who know the language and through this company, it to comes to know the language.
Remember, verbal/written instruction is only meaningful when it conveys something beyond the word itself. Otherwise if all there was, was the word then all instruction would be like reciting the poem of 'the jabber wocky tree'. Teaching is the transmission of something imperceptible.

It comes down to the way things are phrased. I was concerned about this hypocrite thing myself, and I've asked many people about it.
They said that a hypocrite is not someone who simply TELLS people to do good (even if they don't do good themselves), they are people who actively MAKE OUT AS IF they do good in the company of other people, but when they are alone they don't prcatice/worry at all if they don't fulfil obligations.
E.G.
If I said "Praying your five daily prayers is an obligation in Islam. This is why I do it. Let's pray now," to someone and then once they were gone I negleted my prayers (AND SPECIFICALLLY DIDN'T FELL GUILTY AT MISSING PRAYERS) then I would be a hypocrite.
If, however, I said "Praying you five daily prayers is an obligation in Islam, that is why I try to do it," then after the person left I missed my prayer, I wouldn't necessarily be a hypocrite, especially if I later regretted missing my prayers and seeked forgiveness from Allah (swt).
We are told NOT to reveal our sins (especially to boast about them), so there is nothing wrong with trying to cover up our sins from others, it certainly doesn't make someone a hypocrite.

If your intention is to help people, then you can. Otherwise you shouldn't (or reveal other people's sins).

The last time I had a cold, a few months ago, after a few days I was so struggling to clear my airwaves and head and get some sleep no matter what regular medications and teas, that I knocked myself out with a couple of superstrength codeine pills left over from a toothache years ago. I had wonderfully vivid and fun dreams and woke happy, and had to promise myself that I wouldn't make a habit of it. A friend of mine had a penchant for codeine mixed with all sorts of Holland & Barrett concoctions and I don't want to be doing that. And I don't advise using codeine willy-nilly. But it leaves me looking forward to my next cold, most foolishly. You may tell me off.
R'fuah sh'lemah, get well soon Naz.

Ive just stuck with cheapo paracetamol and ibuprofen for my fever which didnt help if anyway whatsoever (i think it could be something to do with it being for up to 12 years only). Got codamol but dont wanna take it, too strong God knows what it does to your insides. Got the nasal vicks spray which is good stuff. If it was a normal cold then i could cope with it but im burning up even after having on the fan on full blast last night plus the room starts to spin sometimes. Ive not been out in 3 days and im losing the will to live.
@ Wednesday ive just managed to get rid of my sore throat and dont want it to come back by eating choc. Plus dark chocolate is disgusting yuck but saying that it is suppose to be better then the normal chocolate coz its made out of pure coco beans or something like that.

Try some Strepsils they always help, and if you also have a bad cough then also try to get some cough syrup! Go to the chemist and ask for the most effective cough syrup! That always helps.
