Trial of the century verdict is due

Samsung Vs Apple.

Apple says that Samsung copies its rounded corners and made lists bounce. They want $2.5 billion for it.

Samsung says that rounded corners already existed, and so did precursors to bouncing lists.

They also say that apple are using their technology (they basically helped design how the 3g system works) without paying them. They want $500million for it.

Apple is saying that yes they are using Samsung Tech, but they think they sould give something like less than a penny per device - and get $40 per samsung device for the rounded corners.

Samsung argue it is crazy to ask for such royalties for something so simple as rounded corners.

(and I hate Apple. Scumbags.)

And the jury has reached a verdict.

Mohammed Farah wins Gold at the Olympics. Twice.

Mohammed "Mo" Farah has won a second Olympic gold for Team GB - first in the 10,000m race and now in the 5,000m race.

He is one of the few (seven?) that have won gold at both races at the olympics and in an event that great britain generally struggles at.

Towards a United Israel?

Israel has a population of 5.9 million (Israeli) Jews.

There are are also 1.6 million Israeli arabs.

The West Bank holds 2.6 million Arabs and Gaza hold 1.6 million Arrabs.

Total all that up and you get 5.8 million Arabs. They also are growing at a faster rate.

So what should be sought is 1 vote for 1 citizen there and if that was achieved, all would be golden.

The day that the future hung in the balance

Two important polls going on today:

1. Greece.

The people are voting again after the last elections 6 weeks ago proved inconclusive.

The results could decide whether greece stays in the Euro, the EU both, either or none.

Very important european election where there are no guarantees and this could be the first nation to leave the eurozone and that is an unknown as the euro was not built for anyone to leave it ever. Questions exist if it could survive a state leaving and also how bad or good this would be for Greece.

2. Egypt.

It's the run off presidential elections the week after the old remnants have been making themselves felt.

Egypt: Disolving the Revolution

The supreme court has called last years parliamentary elections unconstitutional and has also ruled thata former Prime Minister under Mubarak who was legally barred from being president could take part in the upcoming run off presidential elections that will take place this weekend.

This may hand all power (all instead of the 99% that it holds now) back to the military and once again lead the country to a place it is lead by people it doesnt want to be lead by.

Something to keep an eye on.

Water meters Vs water companies actually fixing things up.

All those people experiencing wet conditions right now may not be aware that many parts of the UK are currently facing drought.

I was just reading this article in The Guardian and to me its pretty shocking. The government is in action, it wants to install more smart water meters which will force people to be more efficient in their water use because using more will cost more.

This may save up to 2% of the overall water usage.

This is billed as a big efficiency.

On the other hand leaking pipes in the UK, pipes owned by the water companies are thought to have so many leaks that 25% of the water is lost before it gets to a place where it cna be used.
