Reflection

Reflection

I know its been a long time since I came on Revival, and I also know last time I came, I promised I was back for good.. And I have to say i went back on my word. Anyway, having recently attended the Steps to Allah conference, organised by Islamic Network, I was able to witness some live spoken word by Muslim Belal Smile

Hence the small inspiration... (it's not anything wow, but just thought I'd share)

Coincidence?

The number 7 seems to appear numerous times in Islamic text. This recent realisation has made this association extremely fascinating..

1- 7 circumambulation (Ta’waf) around the Kaa’bah during Hajj

2- 7 walks (back and forth) between Al-Safa and Al-Marwah

3- 7 heavens

4- When the Prophet (peace be upon him) was taken to heaven during Miraj he reported to have seen an angel with 70 000 heads, each head having 70 000 mouths, each mouth having 70 000 tongues and each tongue speaking 70 000 languages; all involved in reciting the praises of Allah Almighty (can't remember the reference for this)

5- 7 pebbles to be used each time for stoning of the Jamarat’

6- 70 000 angels write good deeds for one who recites durood shareef

Taking Advantage of Ramadan

From an email which I thought I'd share on here; A few ways in which you can take advantage of this month, especially the last 10 days;

1) Reserve a Private Meeting with Allah - Set a time before or after suhoor to be alone with Allah (swt).  Use this time to connect to Him by praying, making du`a’, or reading Qur’an. There is no other time like it. The Prophet ﷺ said: “When the last one-third of the night remains, our Lord, the Glorious One, descends towards the lower heaven and proclaims: ‘Is there anyone supplicating to Me, so that I grant his supplication? Is there anyone begging of Me for anything so that I grant him his wish? Is there anyone who seeks My forgiveness, so that I forgive him?’” [Bukhari and Muslim].

The end of Ramadhan- Reflection

The days of Ramadhan have whizzed past, and everyday has seemed to go much much quicker....
So I was thinking about the start of the month and how i was really excited about the upcoming month and how i had planned to do soooooo much during this month...

But todays its the 29th of Ramadhan and i have decided to make a list of things i have achieved over this month, and see if i've kept my resoultions...

  • I planned to recite the Holy quran as much as i can during this month, and looking back, i think i did.... as i read the Tafseer as i went through each surah even though i did get a bit lazy in the middle...:P
