Upgrade?

Are there any plans to use maybe Invision or Vbulletin in the near future, it's easy to upgrade, just the cost of the license. Anyone?

We may go the drupal route.

You can't take the sky from me!

Do you think he might be a spammer?

dunno.

He seems to have been on an awful lot since yesterday, but with only 2? posts.

Probably set up a new business and though he would post it here...

While i hate spam I do occasionally allow some advertising to get through... as long as it is not regular like.

You monitor my activity? Razz not a spammer i only advertised once.

I just find phpbb annoying, Drupal has a forum module? It's phpbb i have a problem with, does my head in, SMF is better, but ultimately invision and vb are good, invision for me has the best admin panel.

Beast, you just spammed my thread.

btw putting my setting as invisible should mean that information is only with the admin, my activity shouldn't be announced on main, as I opted for hidden.

dont worry... im sure no one cares

and I am the admin Razz

phpbb was good enough when I had a look around. Hopwever in the last few months it has been taking a bit of a beating spamwise.

Drupal's forums options are not as good, but it allows me to use one system instead of the 4 (one currently inactive) that I am using for the site.

RE phpbb Vs Invision Vs Vbulletin, they all have their quirks. There are things I dislike about them all. But phpBB is free and that makes a big difference.

I don't doubt the fact you're Admin and can see, I'm just saying it's a breach of privacy don't post my activity for the public Razz

this topic, invasion of privacy, first time i heard that one Laughing

and joomla, smf, spam etc..

from what I understand, u get spam in everything. only way u get around it is by putting in anti-spam hacks.. pros and cons of each one

u got the new phpbb coming out, it might be worth holding on until thats out of beta?

He has a point though. It is something I normally take pretty seriously.

It may be, but if I have to upgrade soon anyway (V3 is a massive change from V2), may aswell go for something all inclusive.

I did have a quick look a while ago at Mambo (when there was no Joomla fork), Typo 3 and Drupal.

I just liked drupal more for some reason. Nothing quantitative or even qualitative.

drupal is pretty hot but the joomla team seem to be more on the ball for ease of maintenance. However I'm going to delve deeper into drupal inshaAllah.

im still on mambo..

but ur right, ive not come across anything else where mods and components are so easily installed and removed.
