Father's Day

It was fathers day last week

I would have posted this thread then-but better late then never

so how many people did somthing nice for their daddy's?

how many people beleived that they didnt need to cos they do something nice for them in the rest of the 364 days in the year?

how many people refused to celebrate this kufr filled biddah day?

How many people simply forgot?

and how come its so easy to do good stuff for mothers but not fathers?

Islam chats a LOT about mothers-but what exactly does it say about fathers?

oh god!! i gotta confess i forgot but usually i remember...daddys are amazin esp. when they side you when mum is angry at you, and they are sweet and just looking at them makes you at ease!!

Lol

i forgot too

i always forget

lil sis made him a card in school

my dad always backs me when mum starts too

in my house I'm daddy's fav-he loves my abrupt mannerism

i always take his side at home

i love mothers and fathers day!!

we got my dad a pen+keyring encripted with 'no1 daddy' and got grandad a mug...because hes dads dad lolz!! Biggrin

no i dont celebrate mothers/fathers day 'to conform to non muslim standards, of what is apparently the "norm" '

i see mothers/fathers day as another opportunity to show my love and affection for my parents...okay maybe its in a material way but that doesnt mean that i dont feel for them or that im only degrading their status to material things...thats not the point of the occasion.

All it symbolises is the love, affection and respect children have towards their parents and everyone has the chance to celebrate their happiness and love towards their parents on the same day...i dont see that as being pagan.

this is all wrong u should not just take this opportunity to give what u feel.
this is just a single day in the whole year, u should show affection all year round.

i dont think yashmaki (can i call u maryam, its easier? Lol meant the above qualities are pagan, its the origin of this festive day which is apparently pagan.

I NEVER WORE IT BECAUSE OF THE TALIBAN, MOTHER. I LIKE THE MODESTY AND PROTECTION IT AFFORDS ME FROM THE EYES OF MEN.

Salaam

For some reason it so much easier to be good to mothers in comparison to fathers…

My mum can say/do the most annoying things yet she can never irritate me, or get me vexed.

She can come in my room at three in the morning daily and ask me to put on an Islamic lecture for her, and I’ll set it up for her half asleep without complaining.

Yet on the rare occasions when mum’s gone away for a few days and I have to make dads tea at 8 in the morning before he leaves for work, I get annoyed…..or I ask my sister to do it.

I suppose it’s so much easier to be good to those who you’re closer to.

I’ve never let my guard down with him, I do wish I was closer to him.

I always forget Father's day

Wasalaam

well u made it sound as though u only show affection on just that day, and then are horrible all throughout the rest of the year.

u need to be clear about what u say.

There is nothing wrong with givin your parents presents etc on mothers/fathers day, whats wrong with that? As long as you treat them right throughout the whole yr but one cant just assume those who do "celebrate" mothers/fathers day dont treat their parents right the rest of the year!

Thank you for clarifying that for the slow ones here.

It was much needed. Biggrin
