Here’s ten top sayings of the Holy Prophet Muhammad(saw) on the blessed month of Ramadan:

"Fast after sighting the moon and end the fast after sighting it and if it is cloudy then complete thirty days of Shaban." (Bukhari)

"Ramadan has come to you as a blessed month. During this month Allah has prescribed fasting for you, the gates of heaven are opened and the gates of hell are closed. The rebellious devils are chained. There is a night in this month that is better than a thousand months, whoever misses it is indeed deprived of enormous blessings." (Bukhari)

"My people have been blessed with five special favours in Ramadan: 1) the breath of the fasting person is better than the fragrance of musk 2) the angels pray for them 3) Paradise is prepared for them 4) the mischievous devils are chained 5) the fasting people are forgiven". (Ahmad)

"All the deeds of the son of Adam are increased in value from ten to seven hundred times except for fasting, since it is for me alone, I shall reward my servant as I please." (Muslim)

"God does not refuse the prayers of three people: the fasting person until he opens it, the just ruler and the oppressed. The prayer is raised above the clouds and a door in the sky is opened for it. And Allah says ‘I will surely help you sometime’." (Tirmizi)

"None of you should miss suhoor (dawn meal) even if it is a sip of water since Allah and his angels bless those who have the dawn meal." (Ahmad)

"This is a month in which the first part brings Allah’s mercy, the middle of which brings His forgiveness and the last part of which brings freedom from the fire of hell." (Ibn-e-Huzimah)

"Whoever gives a fasting Muslim water to drink at Iftar, Allah will grant him a drink during the day of judgement from the fountain of Muhammad after which he shall never again feel thirsty until he enters paradise." (Ibn-e- Huzimah)

"On the Day of Judgement the Glorious Qur’an and the fast will intercede( on your behalf). The fast will say ‘O Lord! I stopped him from eating, drink and sexual activity throughout the day. Then the Quran will say ‘O Lord! I stopped him from rest and sleep at night so I intercede for him’." (Muslim)

"There are four things that you should try to perform in great number, two of which shall be to please your Lord while the other two shall be those without which you cannot make do. The first two qualities are to bear witness that there is no worthy of worship except Allah and to ask for forgiveness. And as for the two you cannot do without: ask Allah for Paradise and seek refuge from the hell fire." (Ibn-e-Huzimah)
