Al Hidayya DVD's and next camp

Salams, Some of you maybe interested to know that the DVD's will be available soon InshAllah. I suggest that when you purches them arrange local Halaqs to watch them. Both brothers and sisters can do this easily. Offer lunch at the end to encourage people to attend Nothing to fancy!

Can anyone who attended remember what Qibla Hazoor said about:"live in this world as though...." ? I cant remember what lecture it was in but it was a really interesting statement and great advice.

Muslim Women Need To Start Working-Blunkett

Salaam

More Muslim women need to get out of the family home and enter the workplace if genuine equality is to be achieved in Britain, says former Home Secretary David Blunkett.

The minister was speaking in Glasgow last week. He said it was time for Islamic community to start changing their attitude to women and encouraging all their mothers, daughters and wives to learn English, get a job and escape the control of male dominated households.

He said “Quite a number of people in the south Asian community in the country who have no job and are not connected to society are women”.

MICS (Minhaj UK)

Okay not so much an event as a notice sort of thing but still relevant to this area (especially for minhajians).

The incredible art and architecture of the Muslim world is brought to our screens by presenter and critic Waldemar Januszczak. Travelling across Central Asia and the Middle East, he's intent on showing us the depth of culture and spectacle that we rarely, if ever, get to see. Inseparable from the artistry, too, are the artists and we're introduced to people whose lives are spent fashioning beautiful objects and buildings.

Is treason now acceptable?

Am I the only one who finds treason unnacceptable?

I am talking about (Whitehouse chief of Staff to Dick Cheney) Lewis Libby.

He committed what I would call treason by revealing the name of a CIA agent.

hpowever he is only being charged with leser crimes (purgery, Obstructing justice, and making false statements to a federal grand jury).

The Prez is also sticking by him.
