New Sufi website - sufizikr.org

Assalamu alaykum,

I hope everyone is in the best of Imaan and health, I would like to bring to your attention a new website that has been launched recently. The site www.sufizikr.org is a very comprehensive website on sufism/tasawwuf, containing biographies of classical sufis, various sufi writings, poetry, and beautiful stories from both traditional and contemporary Sufi Shaykhs.

It also has a forum where members can discuss all aspects of Classical and modern day Tasawwuf, beginners can ask about the various paths of Sulook, find out about the different methods of Zikr and learn Tasawwuf within the light of Traditional Islam.

Lets ignore the countless dead in Iraq, the instability and chaos introduced there, the Spanish train bombings, the British bombings and also the driving of many individuals towards extremism then.

It is extremely disheartening to see this guy get away for all the evil he has caused in the world - teflon tony really is teflon coated.

Their unwanted backward mentality of not wanting to change and wanting to be stuck in the 7th Century.

No civilised society would want to still whip women because they are rape victims (evident in S.A) no other set of people kill their own because they bring shame on the family (Honor Killings), no other set of people kill each other (like Muslims do) in the Name of MY religion (evident in War - Torn countries) notice how many suicide bombing happen every day? And who the main victims are? No other set of people think that the word "Allah" belongs to them simply because it is Arabic (Malaysia).

It is very easy to blame someone else. Yet Muslims have a problem of not wanting to blame their own (yet some would happily kill their own - irony)

I have mentioned on here quite a few time how the "Middle-eastern front" in World War one is often overlooked and many do not know that a major part of world war one was the decimation of the ottoman empire.

However, something that has not been discussed, nor have I looked at is the Ottoman empire itself.

How was it run? Was it a force for good or evil?

Why did everyone want to break away?

I think we can all agree that the Armenian genocide was absolutely appalling, but other than that, what else was there (especially in the late Ottoman empire)?

Smacked children more successful later in life, study finds

Children who are smacked by their parents may grow up to be happier and more successful than those spared physical discipline, research suggests.

A study found that youngsters smacked up to the age of six did better at school and were more optimistic about their lives than those never hit by their parents.

They were also more likely to undertake voluntary work and keener to attend university, experts discovered.

The research, conducted in the United States, is likely to anger children’s rights campaigners who have unsuccessfully fought to ban smacking in Britain.
