Dispatches on Channel 4: Muslim Schooling

The documentary annoys me. The comments written have annoyed me more, you've watched an hour long documentary and you think you've got Islam and Muslims figured out? You don't know the half of it to be honest; a few people can’t represent a religion. I'd love to see a documentary on a churches, temples, gurdwaras or synagogues. I'm sure there are bad aspects of all these places but really doubt that they would make it on air. Don’t just judge on something you know so little about. The documentary although proving sight full is causing more grief then good.

Eco-friendly mosque planned for Germany

Norderstedt's Muslim community to build a £2m mosque with wind turbines in its minarets

A small Muslim community in northern Germany is pioneering renewable energy sources by planning to build a mosque with wind turbines in its minarets.

The €2.5m (£2.2m) project would see the mosque in Norderstedt, near Hamburg, become one of the first to turn the minaret, the place from which the muezzin called the faithful to prayer, into a wind-fuelled power source.

The classes where children as young as THREE learn to pole dance

To the tiny students at this dance studio, the moves are totally innocent.

In fact, they are being instructed in the sleazy art of pole dancing. And their age? As young as three.
Child protection groups yesterday labelled these images from the classes ‘deeply disturbing’.

Parents pay £5 an hour for their daughters to learn pole dancing at the Little Spinners classes.
Instructor Carly Wilford insists it helps youngsters keep fit and boosts their self-esteem

Up to eight girls attend the weekly classes at the Make Me Fabulous dance studio in Northampton.
The revelation comes a week after it emerged that a beauty parlour is offering make-overs and facials for children as young as one.

Mount Kilimanjaro Trek 2011

Asalaam alaikum

I hope everyone is well.

I am taking part in the Mount Kilimanjaro Trek in September insha'Allah to raise money for orphans through Minhaj Welfare Foundation.

It is in aid of Aghosh - an orphanage being built in Pakistan for more than 500 orphans that have been affected by last years devastating floods, it will be equipped with full facilities to cater for all their emotional, social, physical, spiritual and academic needs.

I decided to take up the challenge of climbing Mount Kilimanjaro despite not usually being a very active person at all! My strong desire and passion to help orphan children is what drives me to take part in such challenges.
