 I'm not sure how learning English will help stop extremism either, many of those who have carried out/plotted atrocities have been highly educated. Speaking English does not promote integration into British, American and Australian societies, and broaden opportunities. English speaking Muslim youths are angry, frustrated and extremist, thanks to state schools with monolingual non-Muslim teachers and English language. English language is not only a lingua franca but also lingua frankensteinia. Human right are also covers linguistic right. Cultural and linguistic genocide are very common. British schooling is murdering community languages like Arabic, Urdu and others. English is today the world killer language. Linguistic genocide is a crime against humanity and British schooling is guilty of committing this crime. Language is not just a language. It defines one's culture, identity and consciousness. It defines how we think, communicate and express ourselves. The fact is the most South Asian Muslims have come to know Islam by way of Urdu, the children's alienation from the language that connects them  the heritage of their parents and grandparents is disturbing. As a matter of fact, one has to get to know his mother tongue well if one is to master any other language.

The Prime Minister has privately argued that one of the main reasons why young Muslim males fall under the spell of fanatics is because their mothers have too much of a subordinate role within their communities to argue against the influence of the extremists.Just another narrow minded attempt to deionise Muslims, by yet another link to terrorism. This has nothing to do with extremism and David Cameron an idiot for trying to link the two. What an idiot....Muslim women should learn English, I think he means  immigrants need to learn English. Cameron's an idiot, most Muslim women were born here and educated here. 

Cameron has NO interest in integrating people, whatever their creed or race. The Tories are ALL about division, the rich go one way and get all the benefits and the poor get 'stuffed'. Been like that for over a hundred years They are supported by their non-Dom friends in the media. We have the farce of Labour being branded 'fiscally incompetent' and yet George Osborne's financial Miracle has doubled the National debt. You won't hear that in the media.  The recession was caused by banking crisis and largely the government's and bankers fault, and instead of holding them accountable, people turned around and blamed immigrants. Even in the last election people kept banging on about how immigrants are stealing benefits, yet people failed to recognise that the credit crunch and its horrible aftermath wasn't caused by immigrants....and all political parties enforced the anti-immigrant sentiment. Typical divide and conquer tactics.

He is expected to call for more Muslim women to learn the language so they can make advances in the job market and take on a more influential role.

Prime Minister David Cameron will call on Muslim women to learn English to counter extremism.  Living in UK, obviously one needs to know English. However David the Pig abuser should know better, Knowing English does NOT prevent TERRORISM. HATE breeds HATE. TERROR breeds TERRORISM.

Mr Cameron has been shocked by the fact that at least 700 people from the UK – the vast majority of them young males – have travelled to support or fight for jihadist groups in Syria and Iraq, with about half having since returned to Britain. Most who have gone are thought to have joined Islamic State. They are the product of British schooling and well versed in English language nd not in their mother tongues and Arabic.

He has argued with advisers that he needs to ‘lift the horizons’ of women in those areas where the language barrier contributes to them being trapped outside the workforce.  Male Muslims are the most integrated people going they do far more than anybody when it comes to charity and live side by side and work with every different background unlike David Cameron who lives in a very segregated area like the vast majority of Zionist do.

Why do we have a pop at Mr Trump when David Cameron seems quite happy to discriminate against Muslims himself with this idea of deporting Muslims' who haven't learned English within a certain time period; (bearing in mind that English is supposed to be one of the hardest languages to learn). You can't say that David Cameron's policy idea is exactly 'Muslim friendly'. And why doesn't he deport the Polish, the  Czech, and not forgetting the Chinese students in this country's universities? When I was studying at university, I found that Chinese students', who had supposedly learned English before they could study in Britain, couldn't actually speak the language at all. I think there is a bit of money passing around to get these students in. The fact that they also pay large sums of money in tuition fees annually may be the reason the government leaves them alone. Strange that. Hey, we could just deport everyone who can't speak fluid English. David Cameron would have loads of space then and it'd keep the economic cost down .

If David Cameron's idea becomes law, the only thing that this will do, is discriminate against Muslims by forcing people who are living within a very close knit community and splitting them up. Single mothers, who have fled tensions in their own country for a safer life in Britain with their children. How can we slag off Donald Trump for his comments when our government is thinking of doing the same?

The Muslim Council of Britain has objected to what it describes as an attempt to place responsibility for extremism entirely on Britain’s Muslim population, arguing that they are also ‘struggling to challenge the terrorist narrative’. Beat fanatics by teaching them English? The national language here in Israel is Hebrew. Terrorists and their terrorist harbouring families here know Hebrew - children terrorists know Hebrew. The man is an idiot. He cannot seriously believe the guff written above. If they learn English and go out and get a job, they will stop young Muslims being radicalised. The man is an incompetent feminised man, who measures everything by women taking men's jobs. Does he understand nothing at all. A man is the product of his culture, language and faith. Muslim community is different from the host community as far as culture, language and faith is concerned. Muslim children must develop their cultural, linguistic and spiritual identity before they are exposed to wider world, otherwise, they would be lost in western jungle. British schooling is the home of institutional racism. The result is that Muslim children are unable to develop self-confidence and self-esteem. Racism is deeply rooted in British society. British schools are not doing enough to tackle racism and promote race relations. Many teachers are unaware of racist attitudes amongst pupils.  Muslim children also need state funded Muslim schools with Muslim teachers as role models during their developmental periods.

None of 7/7 bombers and British Muslim youths who are in Syria and Iraq are the product of Muslim schools. They are the product of British schooling which is the home of institutional racism with chicken racist native teachers. It is absurd to believe that Muslim schools, Imams and Masajid teach Muslim children anti-Semitic, homophobic and anti-western views. It is dangerously deceptive and misleading to address text books and discuss them out of their historical, cultural and linguistic context. It is not wrong to teach children that Jews are committing the same cruelty in Palestine what German did to them before or during Second World War. It is not wrong to teach children that anti-social behaviour, drinking, drugs, homosexuality, sex before marriage, teenage pregnancies and abortions are western values and Islam is against all such sins. This does not mean that Muslim schools teach children to hate westerners, Jews and homosexuals.

Muslim children must learn and be well versed in standard English to follow the National Curriculum and go for higher studies and research to serve humanity. At the same time he must learn and be well versed in Arabic, Urdu and other community languages to keep in touch with their cultural heritage and enjoy the beauty of their literature and poetry. A Muslim is a citizen of this tiny global village. He does not want to become notoriously monolingual Brit. The whole world belongs to Muslims.

I have always said, the more languages you know, the broader your cultural knowledge. Those who say you must only use one language narrow their perception of the world. Also, people who can learn languages are good at playing musical instruments. Languages should be taught more in school. When I speak in Arabic I feel like a poet and when in English, I feel like a philosopher. "This mental flexibility pays big dividends especially later in life: the typical signs of cognitive ageing occur later in bilinguals – and the onset of age-related degenerative disorders such as dementia or Alzheimer’s are delayed in bilinguals by up to five years." We are amazed by being able to speak multilingual which is great Ever thought of the One God Creator Who made these languages.

I have been campaigning for state funded Muslim schools for the last 45 years. I set up the first Muslim school in London in 1981. Now there are 188 schools  and only 18 schools are state funded.  I would like to see each and every Muslim child in a state funded Muslim schools with Muslim teachers. I hope my dream would come true one day.

Indiscipline, incivility, binge drinking, drug addiction, gun and knife crimes, teenage pregnancies and abortion are part and parcel of British schooling. These are the reasons why majority of Muslim parents would like to send their children to Muslim schools with Muslim teachers as role models during their developmental periods. Only less than 10% attend Muslim schools and more than 90% keep on attending state and church schools to be mis-educated and de-educated by non-Muslim monolingual teachers.

There are hundreds of state and church schools where Muslim children are in majority. In my opinion, all such schools may be opted out as Muslim Academies. This means the Muslim children will get a decent education. Muslim schools turned out balanced citizens, more tolerant of others and less likely to succumb to criminality or extremism. There is no place for a non-Muslim child or a teacher in a Muslim school.

We live in a shrunken world and millions of people are on the move; one of our biggest challenges is how we learn to live in proximity to difference – different skin colours, different beliefs and different way of life. According to a study by COMPAS, Muslims born and educated were given the impression of outsiders. The perception among Muslims is that they are unwelcome in Britain is undermining efforts to help them integrate into wider society. Most of them say that they have experienced race discrimination and religious prejudice. Muslims and Islam is promoted a fundamentalist and separatist by the western elite, which have negative impact on community and social cohesion. The number of racist incidents occurring in London Borough of Redbridge’s schools have reached their highest levels since record begin.

People are people, regardless of where they were born, what colour their skin is, or whatever religion.  All deserve respect. Tolerance in Sweden/Britain is an illusion. The problem isn't immigrants not adapting to British culture, it's Brits showing much disrespect and scorn to those who are of any immigrant background. even if an immigrant was well versed in English, knew the customs etc. would they still get employment? No. Would Brits treat them as a decent human? No. So why would they want to assimilate into a culture that is constantly tearing them down? Multiculturalism is not about integration but about cultural plurality. It is not about separation but about respect and the deepening awareness of Unity in Diversity. Each culture will maintain its own intrinsic value and at the same time would be expected to contribute to the benefit of the whole society.

A vast majority of people in this world just want to live their lives with their families and friends, and don't give a hoot about what other people do, as long as they can go on with their families and friends. I find it almost impossible to believe that most Muslims want to kill people who don't share their views. The matter at hand is how to change the mind-set of people so a higher percentage does not turn to violence. One should not lump all individuals of any particular Faith in with the violent actions of a few misguided individuals who USE Religion to justify their violent actions. Every now and then a Muslim kills in the US and some people jump on ALL Muslims, as though WHITES, CHRISTIANS or otherwise, do not kill. They forget that non-Muslim killing far outnumbers Muslim killing in the US. They call for the expulsion of Muslims. The BEST SOLUTION would be for all FOREIGNERS to go back to their roots and return the country to the original AMERICAN NATIVES. Is this not a FAIR PROPOSAL? LOL! You white Christians have destroyed the Native Americans and it is only fair and right that YOU be destroyed by other communities.

West must learn to respect and tolerate those who are different.In France Muslim girls are not allowed to cover their heads. This is called liberalism. During the time of Taliban in Afghanistan, women were forced to cover themselves and this is called extremism by the west. In Britain, Muslim women are allowed to cover themselves but there is an immense social, emotional and economic pressure, forcing them not to cover. West is the Mongols of our time. The new Mongols are far worse than the first one. This new Mongols are trying to destroy Islamic identity of the Muslim youths. A large number of them have changed their names and there is no shortage of ex-Muslims in the west. Ex-Muslim council receives state funding.

Prejudice against Islam in the West developed due to historic rivalry of Christianity against Islam. The defeat of Christians by the Muslims in Crusades was a big shock for the Christian world. These deep wounds are still so fresh in the Christian world today that the parents, media, politicians and teachers feel it a duty to nurture the feelings of prejudice against Islam in the hearts and minds of their young generations. According to Runnymede Trust, Britain has become “an institutionally Islamophobic” society in which Muslims are demonised. Hostility towards Muslims is still a major problem and is not being taken seriously enough by race relations bodies. According to Dr. Richard Stone, there is now renewed talk of a clash of civilizations, a new global cold war, and mounting concern that the already fragile foothold gained by Muslim communities in Britain is threatened by ignorance and intolerance. According to John Gieve of the Home office, Islamic extremism might be a “symptom of disaffection”. The same disaffection previously surfaced during the riots that shook Oldham and Bradford in 2001.

Jews and Christian scholars, the so called Western Orientals have always tried to mispresent Islam in their writings. They have always tried to spread baseless lies against Islam in a very authentic and scholarly style, hiding their deep rooted hatred against Islam. They have called all efforts to restore pure Islam in Muslim countries as “fundamentalist movements” against modern-day material progress and economic development. Lacy O’Leary in the book “Islam at the cross road”: “history makes it clear however, that the legend of fanatical Muslims sweeping through the world and forcing Islam at the point of the sword upon conquered races is one of the most fantastically absurd myth that historians have ever repeated.” Even Gandhi refuted the false propaganda, otherwise, one could not find even a single Hindu or non-Muslim in the Indian sub-continent and on top of that Sikhism could not dare to emerge as a religion. India would be the largest Muslim country in the world. In the 20th century new images emerged, the fanatical terrorist, the stone-thrower and the suicide bomber. According to Lord Carey, there was a deep-rooted Islamophobia in Britain. There is a worrying ignorance of Muslim people and suspicion of their presence in the United Kingdom. It is assumed by many that Muslims wish to take over ‘our country and if we allow them to enter Britain in significant numbers they will in time make the country Islamic’.

Mr. Denis MacShane, the Minister for Europe urged British Muslims to adopt the “British norms” and not the way of the “terrorists”, in other words “Islamic way”. He provoked Muslims to choose between the “British way” and the way of terrorism.” Monica Ali’s, who was mis-educated and de-educated by the British education system, portrays Bangladeshi Muslims in Brick Lane as backward, uneducated and unsophisticated. This is the main reason why her book was selected for Guardian First Book Award. The content of the book is a despicable insult to Bengali Muslims at home and abroad. The book can be compared to Salman Rushdie’s Stannic Verses.  The combined forces of racial discrimination and Islamophobia have been awesome in the marginalisation and alienation of the Muslim community. Muslims made to feel like an enemy within by Islamophobic attitudes. Hardening prejudice against Islam is creating a dis-affected underclass of young Muslims “time-bombs” likely to explode into violence, according to a recent report. Life for Britain 1.6 million Muslims has never been easy. For decades they have struggled in the face of discrimination in all walks of life. West is not based on Judaeo-Christian civilisation. This term should be abandoned to be replaced by Judaeo-Christian-Islamic civilisation. The new language should be used in all venues starting with media, academic statements by politicians, church leaders and Imams of Masajid.  These are the words that define how we are related to each other’s.

Through out the modern history, Muslims have contributed for the Renaissance of Western culture and society. Islamic values are not only compatible with the western values they are almost identical. Islamic ideas helped shape the European West that produced the values cherished by the constitution’s framers. Western culture is infact based on Muslim culture. The aim of education is to give the highest possible standard in order to advance spiritually, emotionally, technologically and economically. The early Muslim knew this and they were instrumental in giving the west much of the scientific knowledge that has once helped it to thrive.

Bernard Shaw once said that the future religion of the West would be Islam and only Islam. Islamophobia is guiding Westerners towards that end.

They study with open mind the Holy Quran and Islamic literature and poetry. Islam is a force fighting Imperialism. Read the greatest book of revolution:

Have we just wasted the whole of Ramadan?

Many of us are feeling right now that we have wasted the whole of Ramadan.

We feel we could have read more Qur'an, done more dhikr, done more prayers, made more Dua's. We also feel that we have done a lot of sins and that we have been lazy and have procrastinated much.

However all is not lost! A Muslim does not give up near the last few hurdles! There are still 7 days and nights to go and many scholars state that Laylatul Qadr is more likely to fall within the last seven nights:

Ibn 'Umar reported that a man among the companions of the Prophet (peace be upon him) was shown Laytal al-Qadr in a dream, and that it was one of the last seven nights. The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "It seems that your dreams agreed that it is one of the last seven nights, so whoever wants to seek it, let him seek it in the last seven nights." [Bukhari, 1911; Muslim, 1165] . Muslim reported: "Seek it in the last ten nights, and if any of you are weak or unable to do that, then let him not miss the last seven."

So we still have hope. We can still redeem what we lost of Ramadan so far. Therefore let us pray 2 raka'h Salaatul Tawbah and beg of Allah for forgiveness and for him to pardon us and then make a firm conviction that we will fulfill all of our obligatory duties upon Allah and leave our bad and sinful ways. Let us ask of Allah to bring us closer to him and for us to be guided to the straight path like those of whom he has favoured.

From this moment on let us recite as much of the Qur'an as we can with the meanings, pondering and implementing them into our lives . Let us remember and glorify Allah as much as we can. Let us make much Dua especially 20 minutes before fasting ends and before Suhur. Let us pray all the Taraweeh with the Imaam until he finishes. Let us open up to Allah and ask of him and beg of his mercy and forgiveness and be thankful, appreciative slaves of his. Let us ask of Allah to be saved from the punishment of the grave and Hellfire. Let us be obedient to parents and the best towards them, our partners, children, siblings, families, Muslims and non Muslims. Let us adopt the best manners like that of the Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) and fully implement his Sunnah into our lives.

If we do not change now then when will we change? If we do not pray our prayers on time and have bad habits and are committing sins that are having a detrimental affect to our lives then there is no better opportunity to change like now!

So let us grab this opportunity so that we can be successful in this world and the next! Let us walk towards Allah so that he runs towards us. Let us get closer to Allah for he has been waiting for us to go towards him patiently.

If we do not grab this opportunity it may never come to us again as death may sieze us and then it will be too late!

Dates for last 10 Nights of Ramadan & Laylatul Qadr - UK – 2016

So valuable is Laylatul Qadr (The Night of Power) that the Quran devotes a special surah to it “Lailatul Qadr is better than a thousand months” [97:3]

 Abu Huraira (RA) narrated that the Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) said: “Whoever stands (in prayer) in Laylatul Qadr while nourishing his faith with self-evaluation, expecting reward from Allah, will have all of his previous sins forgiven.” (Bukhari and Muslim).

 Not only does the worship of this one night surpass the value of 30,000 nights which is over 83 YEARS OF WORSHIP but an entire lifetime of sins wiped out in this unique and blessed night! Subhanallah! There is no way we can afford to miss out on such a blessed night!

 According to authentic narrations Laylatul Qadr can be found in any of the last ten nights of Ramadan. Therefore we should try our utmost to worship in all of the last ten nights of Ramadan. If one cannot worship the whole of the last ten nights then one should strive to worship in as many of the last ten nights as is possible in order to gain these immense rewards. Surely to miss out on such rewards will be a source of huge regret on the day of Judgement.

 It is also said that Laylatul Qadr moves around the last ten nights of Ramadan and that it is more likely to be found in the odd numbered nights of the last 10 nights of Ramadan: 21st night, 23rd, 25th, 27th & 29th nights. So if we cannot worship the whole of the last ten nights of Ramadan then we should at least worship the last odd nights. If we still cannot do that then we should worship the 27th night but there is no guarantee that this will be the auspicious night of Power. So in order to catch this night then we must worship all the last 10 nights or as many as we can possibly manage.

 22nd Night - Sunday 26th June - From Maghrib until Fajr

25th Night - Wednesday 29th June - From Maghrib until Fajr

 26th Night - Thursday 30th June - From Maghrib until Fajr

27th Night - Friday 1st July - From Maghrib until Fajr

 28th Night - Saturday 2nd of July - From Maghrib until Fajr.

29th Night - Sunday 3rd July - From Maghrib until Fajr

 30th Night - Monday 4th July - From Maghrib until Fajr.

If Ramadan is 29 days then Eid Ul Fitr will be - Tuesday 5th July.

If Ramadan is 30 days then Eid ul Fitr will be on - Wednesday 6th July Insha'Allah        

Remember: We can gain 83 years of worship reward and forgiveness for an entire lifetime of sins for worshipping on this one special night. So we CANNOT afford to miss out. If we are working on the days after those nights and we can take those days or go work later on that day then we should try to, even if it means we to work go tired on those days, so be it as it is only once a year whre this opportunity comes and we may NEVER get such an opportunity again as we may not be alive next year!

So make the commitment!

 So we should all make a firm commitment to devote ourselves in worship on all of the last 10 nights, if not then on the odd numbered nights, if not then at least on as many nights as we can. If we still cannot do that then at least on the 27th night. We should worship Allah with full sincerity, hope for immense reward, forgiveness and mercy from Allah for an entire lifetime of sins.

 We should also make a firm commitment to Allah that we will change ourselves for the better for the rest of the year as Ramadan is for life not just for one month. We must remember that our time is very short and that this may well be our very last Ramadan as it was the last Ramadan for so many who thought they would make it!

 So let us grab this opportunity with both hands! If we walk towards Allah then he will run towards us!

Rewards on Laylatul Qadr Worth More than a Lifetime of Worship!

The Night of Power is better than a 1000 months, which is over 83 years. Therefore any act of worship during this night is rewarded to worship equal to over 83 years. Subhanallah!

 This applies to prayers, Qur'an recitation, Dhikr (Remembrance of Allah) and giving to charity and so on.

Giving to charity during the Night of Power (Laylat-ul-Qadr) for example is equal to an act of giving to charity for a 1000 months = 83.33 years x 365 days = over 30,415 days.

Therefore giving just £10 to charity during such a night is equal to £300,000!

Reciting each letter of the Quran is worth over 300,000 good deeds (10 rewards each letter × 30,415 days = 304,000 good deeds

Shaking Hands

Muslim schoolboys who refused to shake hands with their female teacher will face a steep fine. This is the latest turn in a controversial matter that started last April in a Swiss school, when two Muslim boys refused to shake hands with their (female) teacher, because that would go against the Koran’s teachings. The boys argued that Islam forbids men to have physical contact with a woman outside of the family unit. But this explanation did not convince the authorities in the canton of Basel, who interpreted the boys’ actions as a severe form of contempt and discrimination against women. They will face a fine of up to 5,000 Swiss francs (€4,500) if they violate what is a traditional gesture of politeness in the Swiss classroom.

Had it been Japanese boys who did not want to shake their Swiss teacher's hand, I doubt anyone ever would have heard about it, to say nothing of it culminating in a new fine for not shaking one's teacher's hand.  It is because they were Muslim boys that it became an issue, which means that it is precisely an example of xenophobia and anti-Muslim hostility.  These are minors, for goodness sake.  Individual children may be comfortable with one teacher and not another.  Teachers are supposed to be trained not to take that personally.  It is appalling that this ever became an issue.  The parents should sue the school in the ECJ.  I certainly agree that if Swiss teachers cannot be culturally sensitive enough to allow basic bodily boundary issues (which can vary dramatically by culture) to be respected and non-confrontational in a school setting, then there should be other publicly funded schooling options for Muslim children.  Not all parents can afford parochial schools, which can be expensive.  For a female teacher to demand from male students (children or teens) that they shake her hand against their will is an act of domination.  It is beyond inappropriate in any school, anywhere.

For sure Muslim students there have no problem about shaking hands with "men" teachers. They just don't want to violate the Islamic regulations regarding the limits between men and women.
So please keep it away from respect and non respect, and find another way to measure respect. I am not so familiar with the Swiss culture at school, but probably good Muslims - who are following prophet Muhammad who ordered not to touch stranger women - will present very good example for respect others, even they have different religions. In which Bible is it prescribed that the only way of showing respect to female teachers is to shake hands with them? Keep your religion of bestial modernity with yourselves. Let us follow our traditional religion. This is a case of modernity gone berserk. Europeans must respect the Islamic code of inter-gender relations. We Muslims are forbidden from intimacy or physical contacts with "ghair al-mahram". So this forcible shaking of hands of non-mahram females is offensive to Islamic morality and culture. Switzerland is authoritarian and rigid. They seem not to understand how deeply this is ingrained in one's psyche--the avoidance of men and women touching if they are not related, even haram.

Switzerland is not a bubble of innocent provincial people.  They are well connected to the global discussion on the "Muslim problem."  There is no way that the discussion inside Switzerland about what to do with two adolescent Muslim boys who want to avoid touching females, was not always already part of this global discussion. And even if we grant the near impossibility that it was so isolated, the fact remains that it is a global issue, and part of a larger set of global issues in an on going global discussion. And in that global context and discussion, this is what I see.  The same people who are vocally advocating the privileging of local custom over individual liberty in cases concerning Muslim minorities in non-Muslim societies, are also vocal in advocating the opposite for Muslim societies themselves - the disruption of local customs and values in the name of individual liberty.

Human rights are protected for minority communities in a country.  The customs of the majority do not get special protection.  Why?  Because they are the customs of the majority, which already tend to be dominant if not dominating.  It is precisely because of the tendency of majority cultural norms to be dominating that international human rights laws protect minority communities from them.  I see human rights violations along two lines here:  (1) the handshaking ritual is clearly a form of ritualized (silent) nationalist oath, enacted in a daily way at school, something that religious people do not have to engage in as they are able to show support for the nation otherwise and it is usually read as a violation of their religious right to hold God above everything, even the state; and (2) the right to the physical integrity of one's personal body cannot be violated by the state or the majority community without significant cause, e.g., a violent act, which might allow a state to put a citizen in prison.  Children being forced to have physical contact with an adult against their will and the customs of their community, or even just in general -- even in a handshaking ritual -- can have emotionally damaging effects on children  That the handshaking is expressed and explained as a nationalist ritual is significant.  There is no such thing as an insignificant ritual of forced physical obedience.

It seems that the boys did exactly the right thing in submitting a request to the school to be exempted from this nationalist ritual on religious grounds.  And it appears that the school did exactly the right thing in allowing it, initially.  If the wider Swiss community sees Muslim boys requesting not to handshake differently from other boys requesting not to handshake, as suggested below, that indicates a broad anti-Muslim hostility among the Swiss people, who are the ones who made this an issue after the school officials had already solved the problem appropriately by accepting the boys' request.  Again, I think the Imam and his family should take the case to the ECJ.  It is appalling.  Switzerland has been homogeneous for a long time.  If it wants to be heterogeneous, it has to be heterogeneous.  It is not going to forcibly "convert" Muslims to its homogeneous preferred ontology or culture.  If it doesn't want to be heterogeneous, then don't make the lie by taking in refugees in pretence of offering them a safe (read that, open and not hostile) home.

West must learn to respect and tolerate those who are different. You have failed to respect and tolerate Black community, who speaks your language, share your culture and faith. English, Irish, Welsh and Scott hate each other, sharing the same culture, faith and language. It is difficult for you to accept, respect and tolerate Muslims with different culture, languages and FAITH.  You have no choice but to accept them for your own survival. The number of Muslims is on the increase because of immigration, high birth rate and conversion. By the end of this century, nearly 50% of British population would be Muslim.

I think that the first question should be asked here : whether a public school is committed to produce one type of ideal citizens by eliminating diversity or committed to accommodate diversity and acknowledge individual domain as much as possible. If it is the second option, this handshake case highly questionable in my opinion. There is a difference between refusing handshake and refusing history or biology. Forcing someone to handshake is clearly to enter into his individual domain, his body. This training is about human relationships and etiquette. Teaching this type of social interaction is also different from teaching, for example, racial differences or gender equality because as opposed to these cases, the lack of handshake would not harm anybody and would not necessarily cause discrimination. As we can see, refusing to touch someone because she is white or black is highly different from hesitating to touch her because some sort of religious boundaries. I mean, a religious teenager  could be in love with a girl and indeed would really desire to touch her, yet would not shake her hand because of his religious commitment. In this context of discrimination, it is perhaps crucial to teach not to discriminate people because of religion, gender and race in the work places or social environments. Yet, if the existing hiring custom necessarily requires handshaking, perhaps the existing custom itself is not inclusive enough and the education is perpetuating this discrimination.

The question, what if these religious students refuse to attend history or biology, is a very important question.  I understand that public schools must have a curriculum that every student needs to attend. Once a student enters into school, he accepts to take those courses. In this case, he has to learn a history that he might eventually not agree. Yet, the existence and continuity of this individual disagreement would show that this history class could not indeed enter into his individual domain. (Anyways, isn't it the reason that we can argue for freedom of speech). When it comes to biology or for example a training for physiotherapy that might require to touch a person, the touching in these cases is for a scientific and practical purpose, not for a social behaviour with a certain ethics. If the religious person is not comfortable, perhaps he has to quit learning science in a public school.

I guess what I am trying to say is that freedom, individual agency, and inclusiveness in European democracies are indeed not perfect but limited and should be discussed further and in more detail.

I'm so glad I have a wide view of life and the world. These things, surely, are not the important things of life, but giving a smile to someone, looking after the old and infirm and doing at least one good thing a day for the benefit of others around us surely are more important things. I don't like ritual in any way and that goes for religious ritual. Jesus just went out into the world and his main message was: "Love one another as I love you" and if everyone got up in the morning and showed love to others - well, our world would be a happier place. So, I hope you all have a happy day and I send you all my love - and shake hands if you wish, but a smile says more.

I'm not sure what kind of teacher would demand a handshake from a student in any case. I never have. Both males and females aren't allowed to have physical contact with members of the opposite sex who aren't immediate family members. It's a matter of modesty. These boys quite possibly believe it's disrespectful to shake a woman's hand - I wouldn't feel offended in that situation.

I'm very uncomfortable with this ruling and would be very uncomfortable if any of my colleagues tried to oblige a student to shake hands against his/her will. When that culture infringes of a child's basic human rights, yes. Respecting is one thing, forcing someone to do something against their religion is wrong.Children should not be used to gain cheap political points.The handshake is almost certainly more a mindless gesture than a conscious show of respect these days anyway. Like the 'have a nice day' at the door of the Disney Store.

If they were my students and polite and respectful in class I wouldn't have a problem with the lack of handshake. I don't think a handshake necessarily demonstrates respect and I certainly don't assume that a lack of it is a sign of lack of respect. I taught RS and a boy who has reached puberty is not allowed to shake the hand of a woman unless he is related to her. If you want, I can show you the evidence.

There are lots of ways students can show disrespect to their teachers in the classroom. That they are respectful in class is far more important to me than a handshake. I certainly wouldn't want to shake hands with all of my students, knowing how difficult it is to get some people to wash their hands after they go to the loo. Yuk.

Supposing you had a student in your class who was wilfully disrespectful, who was sullen and uncooperative in class and who challenged your authority on a daily basis, but who was willing to go through the motions of shaking your hand at the start/end of the day. Would you shake his/her hand? Would you be happy to do so? Isn't it better to have a student who actually does respect your authority in the classroom but who declines the handshake?

It all seems a fuss about nothing to me. And similar for the kids, imagine you were at the back of the queue and your teacher had already shaken hands with 34 other little nose-pickers & bum-scratchers. I also don't like the idea that 'Swiss teachers have the right to demand a handshake'. I don't like the idea that any kind of touching that me or my kids were uncomfortable with would be demanded of us. It's crossing a bodily autonomy boundary that I'm just not comfortable with. I mean, I spend a lot of time telling my kids that no one has the right to tell them what to do with their body and they have the right to say no to anything they're uncomfortable with.

Shaking someone's hand is a form of friendly greeting. Not a ritual. If you're forced to do it against your will then there's nothing friendly about it. It is a majority custom in the UK to celebrate Christmas.

And yet I remember amongst my close acquaintances a couple of Christians who don't do so (because of their faith) and a couple of non-believers who also don't. Should they be forced to wish people a "Merry Christmas"? Should they be fined if they don't?

The Muslim community has been passing through a phase of fourth Crusades. The battleground is the field of education, where the young generation will be educated properly with the Holly Quran in one hand and Sciences in other hand to serve the British society and the world at large. A true Muslim is a citizen of the world, which has become a small global village. We are going to prepare our youth to achieve that objective in the long run. A true Muslim believes in Prophet Moses and the Prophet Jesus and without them one cannot be a Muslim. My suggestion is that in all state, independent and Christian based school special attention should be given to the teaching of Comparative Religion and Islam should be taught by qualified Muslim Teachers to make the children aware the closeness of Islam to Christianity and Judaism which will help them to think about Islam, as “A Pragmatic and Modern Way of Life,” during their life time.

The demand for Masajid, state funded Muslim schools with Muslim teachers, Halal meat. Muslim cemeteries and Sharia laws are nothing to do with segregation integration or community cohesion and harmony. A Muslim is a citizen of this tiny global village. The British establishment is wrong in thinking that Imams are to blame for extremism. Imams are not solution to the problem for extremism. Extremism is nothing to do with Imams. Muslim communities need imams for the solutions of their needs and demands in their own native languages. Muslim parents would like to see their children well versed in Standard English and to go for higher studies and research to serve humanity. The fact is that majority of Muslim children leave schools with low grades because monolingual teachers are not capable to teach Standard English to bilingual Muslim children. Terrorism and sexual grooming is nothing to do with Masajid, Imams and Muslim schools. Those Muslim youths who have been involved in terrorism and sexual grooming are the product of western education system which makes a man stupid, selfish and corrupt. They find themselves cut off from their cultural heritage, literature and poetry. They suffer from identity crises and I blame British schooling.

The shocking level of targeting of the Muslim community of Birmingham is indicative of the normalisation of the dehumanisation of the Muslims of Britain. Under the pretext of "extremism", criminal undemocratic and unethical abuse of public institutions and the Muslims of the UK can occur without much accountability. This pervasive attitude, especially amongst officials like Michael Gove needs to change. Our schools are truly trying to develop our children to do well at schools so later in life they are able to stand on their own two feet, but if we stop our schools from doing this than our country will have up rise of unemployment, benefit issues, crime levels high, I think its time for you apologize and allow practitioners to do their job right.

Learning and Speaking English Language

 I'm not sure how learning English will help stop extremism either, many of those who have carried out/plotted atrocities have been highly educated. Speaking English does not promote integration into British, American and Australian societies, and broaden opportunities. English speaking Muslim youths are angry, frustrated and extremist, thanks to state schools with monolingual non-Muslim teachers and English language. English language is not only a lingua franca but also lingua frankensteinia. Human right are also covers linguistic right. Cultural and linguistic genocide are very common. British schooling is murdering community languages like Arabic, Urdu and others. English is today the world killer language. Linguistic genocide is a crime against humanity and British schooling is guilty of committing this crime. Language is not just a language. It defines one's culture, identity and consciousness. It defines how we think, communicate and express ourselves. The fact is the most South Asian Muslims have come to know Islam by way of Urdu, the children's alienation from the language that connects them  the heritage of their parents and grandparents is disturbing. As a matter of fact, one has to get to know his mother tongue well if one is to master any other language.

The Prime Minister has privately argued that one of the main reasons why young Muslim males fall under the spell of fanatics is because their mothers have too much of a subordinate role within their communities to argue against the influence of the extremists.Just another narrow minded attempt to deionise Muslims, by yet another link to terrorism. This has nothing to do with extremism and David Cameron an idiot for trying to link the two. What an idiot....Muslim women should learn English, I think he means  immigrants need to learn English. Cameron's an idiot, most Muslim women were born here and educated here. 

Cameron has NO interest in integrating people, whatever their creed or race. The Tories are ALL about division, the rich go one way and get all the benefits and the poor get 'stuffed'. Even in the last election people kept banging on about how immigrants are stealing benefits, yet people failed to recognise that the credit crunch and its horrible aftermath wasn't caused by immigrants....and all political parties enforced the anti-immigrant sentiment. Prime Minister David Cameron will call on Muslim women to learn English to counter extremism.  Living in UK, obviously one needs to know English. However David the Pig abuser should know better, Knowing English does NOT prevent TERRORISM. HATE breeds HATE. TERROR breeds TERRORISM.

Mr Cameron has been shocked by the fact that at least 700 people from the UK – the vast majority of them young males – have travelled to support or fight for jihadist groups in Syria and Iraq, with about half having since returned to Britain. Most who have gone are thought to have joined Islamic State. They are the product of British schooling and well versed in English language nd not in their mother tongues and Arabic.

He has argued with advisers that he needs to ‘lift the horizons’ of women in those areas where the language barrier contributes to them being trapped outside the workforce.  Male Muslims are the most integrated people going they do far more than anybody when it comes to charity and live side by side and work with every different background unlike David Cameron who lives in a very segregated area like the vast majority of Zionist do.

Why do we have a pop at Mr Trump when David Cameron seems quite happy to discriminate against Muslims himself with this idea of deporting Muslims' who haven't learned English within a certain time period; (bearing in mind that English is supposed to be one of the hardest languages to learn). You can't say that David Cameron's policy idea is exactly 'Muslim friendly'. And why doesn't he deport the Polish, the  Czech, and not forgetting the Chinese students in this country's universities? When I was studying at university, I found that Chinese students', who had supposedly learned English before they could study in Britain, couldn't actually speak the language at all. I think there is a bit of money passing around to get these students in. The fact that they also pay large sums of money in tuition fees annually may be the reason the government leaves them alone. Strange that. Hey, we could just deport everyone who can't speak fluid English. David Cameron would have loads of space then and it'd keep the economic cost down .

If David Cameron's idea becomes law, the only thing that this will do, is discriminate against Muslims by forcing people who are living within a very close knit community and splitting them up. Single mothers, who have fled tensions in their own country for a safer life in Britain with their children. How can we slag off Donald Trump for his comments when our government is thinking of doing the same?

The Muslim Council of Britain has objected to what it describes as an attempt to place responsibility for extremism entirely on Britain’s Muslim population, arguing that they are also ‘struggling to challenge the terrorist narrative’. Beat fanatics by teaching them English? The national language here in Israel is Hebrew. Terrorists and their terrorist harbouring families here know Hebrew - children terrorists know Hebrew. A man is the product of his culture, language and faith. Muslim community is different from the host community as far as culture, language and faith is concerned. Muslim children must develop their cultural, linguistic and spiritual identity before they are exposed to wider world, otherwise, they would be lost in western jungle. British schooling is the home of institutional racism. The result is that Muslim children are unable to develop self-confidence and self-esteem. Racism is deeply rooted in British society. British schools are not doing enough to tackle racism and promote race relations. None of 7/7 bombers and British Muslim youths who are in Syria and Iraq are the product of Muslim schools. It is absurd to believe that Muslim schools, Imams and Masajid teach Muslim children anti-Semitic, homophobic and anti-western views. It is dangerously deceptive and misleading to address text books and discuss them out of their historical, cultural and linguistic context. It is not wrong to teach children that Jews are committing the same cruelty in Palestine what German did to them before or during Second World War. It is not wrong to teach children that anti-social behaviour, drinking, drugs, homosexuality, sex before marriage, teenage pregnancies and abortions are western values and Islam is against all such sins. This does not mean that Muslim schools teach children to hate westerners, Jews and homosexuals.

At the same time he must learn and be well versed in Arabic, Urdu and other community languages to keep in touch with their cultural heritage and enjoy the beauty of their literature and poetry. I have always said, the more languages you know, the broader your cultural knowledge. Those who say you must only use one language narrow their perception of the world. Also, people who can learn languages are good at playing musical instruments. Languages should be taught more in school. When I speak in Arabic I feel like a poet and when in English, I feel like a philosopher. "This mental flexibility pays big dividends especially later in life: the typical signs of cognitive ageing occur later in bilinguals – and the onset of age-related degenerative disorders such as dementia or Alzheimer’s are delayed in bilinguals by up to five years." We are amazed by being able to speak multilingual which is great Ever thought of the One God Creator Who made these languages.

I have been campaigning for state funded Muslim schools for the last 45 years. I set up the first Muslim school in London in 1981. Now there are 188 schools  and only 18 schools are state funded.  I would like to see each and every Muslim child in a state funded Muslim schools with Muslim teachers. I hope my dream would come true one day.

Indiscipline, incivility, binge drinking, drug addiction, gun and knife crimes, teenage pregnancies and abortion are part and parcel of British schooling. These are the reasons why majority of Muslim parents would like to send their children to Muslim schools with Muslim teachers as role models during their developmental periods. Only less than 10% attend Muslim schools and more than 90% keep on attending state and church schools to be mis-educated and de-educated by non-Muslim monolingual teachers.

There are hundreds of state and church schools where Muslim children are in majority. In my opinion, all such schools may be opted out as Muslim Academies. This means the Muslim children will get a decent education. Muslim schools turned out balanced citizens, more tolerant of others and less likely to succumb to criminality or extremism. There is no place for a non-Muslim child or a teacher in a Muslim school.

Regret For Wasting Ramadan so far!!!

Two thirds of Ramadan have passed and only one-third - the last blessed 10 days remains.

Although we may all differ regarding the two thirds that have passed, there should be only one type of person in the remaining third: the person who is regretful of his negligence and conscious of his shortcomings.

Regardless of one's eagerness to do good deeds, each one of us is guilty of negligence to a certain extent, and thus, we should be absolutely determined to make up for the time we have wasted and strive much harder from this moment onwards.

--- So even though the first two thirds of Ramadan may have been wasted, we must not despair. Rather we should admit that we have been neglectful, wake ourselves up and internalise in our minds - that the final stretch of Ramadan will be not only better,but the best we have ever performed in any previous Ramadan - by the permission of Amighty Allah.

We must act now!

So we must now strive and work as hard as possible for we do not know if this will be our last Ramadan or not!

Regardless of how sinful we are or whether we pray or even fast what matters is that we make a firm intention from this moment onwards that we will change for the better and repent for our past and present sins. These last 10 days and nights of this blessed month is the best opportunity for us to change our lives for the better in getting closer to Allah, connecting with the Qur'an and re-focusing our goals and objectives to that of preperation for the Hereafter!

So let us not wait for tomorrow but act now in opening our hearts to Allah and crying and begging of him to forgive us and guide us to the straight path. We must strive from now on to better ourselves and to emulate the beloved Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam).

So let us make firm intention right now that we will make every effort and do everything we can from now onwards to get closer to Allah and to spend every aspect of our lives in pleasing him and refraining from anything that may anger or displease him. For if we waste this valuable opportunity and die in this state then surely Allah will ask us that did we not get any opportunities to change? Did no one come to remind us? Did we not get chance after chance? Then how many more chances do we need until death takes us? Do we really know at which moment our death will be? Then surely the wise person acts immediately and does not delay!

Utter regret

Therefore we cannot afford to miss out on this most valuable opportunity as this may be our last Ramadan and our only opportunity to worship on Laylatul Qadr. If we lose this opportunity then surely we will be the biggest losers and in utter regret FOREVER!!!
