Extremism and Terrorism
We live in a shrunken world and millions of people are on the move; one of our biggest challenges is how we learn to live in proximity to difference – different skin colours, different beliefs and different way of life. According to a study by COMPAS, Muslims born and educated were given the impression of outsiders. The perception among Muslims is that they are unwelcome in Britain is undermining efforts to help them integrate into wider society. Most of them say that they have experienced race discrimination and religious prejudice. Muslims and Islam is promoted a fundamentalist and separatist by the western elite, which have negative impact on community and social cohesion. The number of racist incidents occurring in London Borough of Redbridge’s schools have reached their highest levels since record begin.
What do you expect form Muslim community who has been victim of Paki-bashing in all walks of life by the British society for the last 60 years? What do you expect from Muslim youths who have been thoroughly searched by police in the streets? What do you expect from hundreds of school children who have been referred to the police by non-Muslim teachers? English hates Irish, Welsh and Scott hate each other and all of them hate Islam and Muslims.
Prejudice against Islam in the West developed due to historic rivalry of Christianity against Islam. The defeat of Christians by the Muslims in Crusades was a big shock for the Christian world. These deep wounds are still so fresh in the Christian world today that the parents, media, politicians and teachers feel it a duty to nurture the feelings of prejudice against Islam in the hearts and minds of their young generations. According to Runnymede Trust, Britain has become “an institutionally Islamophobic” society in which Muslims are demonised. Hostility towards Muslims is still a major problem and is not being taken seriously enough by race relations bodies. According to Dr. Richard Stone, there is now renewed talk of a clash of civilizations, a new global cold war, and mounting concern that the already fragile foothold gained by Muslim communities in Britain is threatened by ignorance and intolerance. According to John Gieve of the Home office, Islamic extremism might be a “symptom of disaffection”. The same disaffection previously surfaced during the riots that shook Oldham and Bradford in 2001.
The hatred of Islam and Muslims reaches such peaks that it presides over the strangest, most radical political about-face, sometimes. So, the nationalist far right now often presents itself as feminist (to better bash Muslims on gender equality) but also as pro-gay rights (to bash Muslims on their supposed homophobia) and even animal rights activists (to better justify banning ritual slaughter) etc. etc. etc.
Jews and Christian scholars, the so called Western Orientals have always tried to misrepresent Islam in their writings. They have always tried to spread baseless lies against Islam in a very authentic and scholarly style, hiding their deep rooted hatred against Islam. They have called all efforts to restore pure Islam in Muslim countries as “fundamentalist movements” against modern-day material progress and economic development. Lacy O’Leary in the book “Islam at the cross road”: “history makes it clear however, that the legend of fanatical Muslims sweeping through the world and forcing Islam at the point of the sword upon conquered races is one of the most fantastically absurd myth that historians have ever repeated.” Even Gandhi refuted the false propaganda, otherwise, one could not find even a single Hindu or non-Muslim in the Indian sub-continent and on top of that Sikhism could not dare to emerge as a religion. India would be the largest Muslim country in the world. In the 20th century new images emerged, the fanatical terrorist, the stone-thrower and the suicide bomber. According to Lord Carey, there was a deep-rooted Islamophobia in Britain. There is a worrying ignorance of Muslim people and suspicion of their presence in the United Kingdom. It is assumed by many that Muslims wish to take over ‘our country and if we allow them to enter Britain in significant numbers they will in time make the country Islamic’.
Mr. Denis MacShane, the Minister for Europe urged British Muslims to adopt the “British norms” and not the way of the “terrorists”, in other words “Islamic way”. He provoked Muslims to choose between the “British way” and the way of terrorism.” Monica Ali’s, who was mis-educated and de-educated by the British education system, portrays Bangladeshi Muslims in Brick Lane as backward, uneducated and unsophisticated. This is the main reason why her book was selected for Guardian First Book Award. The content of the book is a despicable insult to Bengali Muslims at home and abroad. The book can be compared to Salman Rushdie’s Satanic Verses. The combined forces of racial discrimination and Islamophobia have been awesome in the marginalisation and alienation of the Muslim community. Muslims made to feel like an enemy within by Islamophobic attitudes. Hardening prejudice against Islam is creating a dis-affected underclass of young Muslims “time-bombs” likely to explode into violence, according to a recent report. Life for Britain 1.6 million Muslims has never been easy. For decades they have struggled in the face of discrimination in all walks of life. West is not based on Judio-Christian civilisation. This term should be abandoned to be replaced by Judio-Christian-Islamic civilisation. The new language should be used in all venues starting with media, academic statements by politicians, church leaders and Imams of Masajid. These are the words that define how we are related to each other’s.
No one has any problem when: Jews keep beards and wear their traditional caps Christian priests and nuns wear their religious outfits Buddhist monks wear orange robes Sikhs keep beards and wear turbans Indian aunties wear Sarees (cross streets and hang out in Wal-Mart) Yeah but if any Muslim male keeps beard or if any Muslim girl wears hijab then everyone has problem. It's Freedom when you go naked but it's extremism when you wear hijab - just plain hypocrisy! Looking at the case of France, a major secular nation, I believe it is also not allowing women freedom by not letting her to wear her choice of clothing as it supposedly "clashes with French secular values".
The British establishment is wrong in thinking that Imams are to blame for extremism. Imams are not solution to the problem for extremism. Extremism is nothing to do with Imams. Extremism is not created from abroad, it is coming from within. Britain fails to help Muslim communities feel part of British society. Race trouble is being predicted by the Daily Express, because of an ethnic boom in UK major cities. Muslim communities need imams for the solutions of their needs and demands in their own native languages. Muslim parents would like to see their children well versed in Standard English and to go for higher studies and research to serve humanity. The fact is that majority of Muslim children leave schools with low grades because monolingual teachers are not capable to teach Standard English to bilingual Muslim children. A Muslim is a citizen of this tiny global village. He/she does not want to become notoriously monolingual Brit.
None of 7/7 bombers and British Muslim youths who are in Syria and Iraq are the product of Muslim schools. They are the product of British schooling which is the home of institutional racism with chicken racist native teachers. It is absurd to believe that Muslim schools, Imams and Masajid teach Muslim children anti-Semitic, homophobic and anti-western views. It is dangerously deceptive and misleading to address text books and discuss them out of their historical, cultural and linguistic context.
A report by the Institute for Community Cohesion found that native parents were deserting some schools after finding their children out numbered by pupils from ethnic minorities. Schools in parts of England are becoming increasingly segregated. The study focused on 13 local authorities. Many of the schools and colleges are segregated and this was generally worsening over recent years. This is RACISM because British society is the home of institutional racism. My statement regarding Muslim schools where there is no place for non-Muslim child or a teacher is based on educational process and not on racism. Muslim children need Muslim teachers during their developmental periods. For higher studies and research, Muslim teacher is not a priority.
A study claims that Black and Asian pupils are being held back in the classroom because schools are "institutionally racist". Let the minority communities educate their own children and you better educate your children for the well being of the British society. Islamic schools protect Muslim children from the onslaught of Euro-centrism, homosexuality, racism, and secular traditions.
It is easy to say" Go back to where you came from", but do not forget that British Muslims are actually born and educated here. They are in the unenviable position of trying to combine two different worlds. That is no easy. We do not want to change you lot but we would like to see our children getting balanced Islamic education along with National Curriculum. We would like our children to learn and be well versed in standard English to follow the National Curriculum and go for higher studies and research to serve humanity. At the same time we would like our children to learn and be well versed in Arabic, Urdu and other community languages to keep in touch with their cultural roots and enjoy the beauty of their literature and poetry. A Muslim is a citizen of this tiny global village. He/she does not want to become notoriously monolingual Brit. Bilingualism is an asset but British schooling regards it as a problem.
Native Brits must learn to respect and tolerate those who are different. Stop treating foreigners like garbage and they will stop ruining your precious country. Why did you let them in in the first place if you didn't want them here? They left everything in their countries because of your promises. Are you so anxious to please that you can't say "no"? I would love to see you go to a foreign land where you don't have any friends, you don't even know anyone and you don't speak the language, and start from scratch. I would just LOVE to watch you do that. Let them integrate and stop segregating them. What I want is people being nice to each other. I don't care about race.
Speaking English does not promote integration into British, American and Australian societies, and broaden opportunities. English speaking Muslim youths are angry, frustrated and extremist, thanks to state schools with monolingual non-Muslim teachers and English language. English language is not only a lingua franca but also lingua frankensteinia. Human right are also covers linguistic right. Cultural and linguistic genocide are very common. British schooling is murdering community languages like Arabic, Urdu and others. English is today the world killer language. Linguistic genocide is a crime against humanity and British schooling is guilty of committing this crime. Language is not just a language. It defines one's culture, identity and consciousness. It defines how we think, communicate and express ourselves. The fact is the most South Asian Muslims have come to know Islam by way of Urdu, the children's alienation from the language that connects them the heritage of their parents and grandparents is disturbing. As a matter of fact, one has to get to know his mother tongue well if one is to master any other language.
There will never be an end to extremism and terrorism as long as Muslim children keep on attending state schools with non-Muslim teachers. Muslim children need state funded Muslim schools with Muslim teachers during their developmental periods. Muslim children must develop their cultural, spiritual and linguistic identities before they are exposed to wider world, otherwise, they would be lost in western jungle. It is a crime against humanity to send Muslim children to state schools with non-Muslim teachers. Children from minority groups, especially the Muslims, are exposed to the pressure of racism, multiculturalism and bullying. They suffer academically, culturally and linguistically: a high proportion of children of Pakistani and Bangladeshi origin are leaving British schools with low grades or with no qualification. The demand for state funded Muslim schools is nothing to do with integration or segregation. It is purely an educational issue.
You better teach your children in your own schools and let migrant communities teach their children according to their needs and demands. British Establishment and society should concentrate on the evils of their own society and stop trying to change the way of life of Muslims. Muslim community does not want to integrate with the British society, indulging in incivility, anti-social behaviour, drug and knife culture, binge drinking, teenage pregnancies and abortion. Prince Charles, while visiting the first grant maintained Muslim school in north London, said that the pupils would be the future ambassadors of Islam. But what about thousands of others, who attend state schools deemed to be "sink schools"? In education, there should be a choice and at present it is denied to the Muslim community. In the late 80s and early 90s, when I floated the idea of Muslim community schools, I was declared a "school hijacker" by an editorial in the Newham Recorder newspaper in east London. This clearly shows that the British media does not believe in choice and diversity in the field of education and has no respect for those who are different. Muslim schools, in spite of meager resources, have excelled to a further extent this year, with couple of schools achieving 100% A-C grades for five or more GCSEs. They beat well resourced state and independent schools in Birmingham and Hackney. Muslim schools are doing better because a majority of the teachers are Muslim. The pupils are not exposed to the pressures of racism, multiculturalism and bullying.
There are hundreds of state primary and secondary schools where Muslim pupils are in majority. In my opinion all such schools may be opted out to become Muslim Academies. This mean the Muslim children will get a decent education. Muslim schools turned out balanced citizens, more tolerant of others and less likely to succumb to criminality or extremism. Muslim schools give young people confidence in who they are and an understanding of Islam’s teaching of tolerance and respect which prepares them for a positive and fulfilling role in society. Muslim schools are attractive to Muslim parents because they have better discipline and teaching Islamic values. Children like discipline, structure and boundaries. Bilingual Muslim children need Bilingual Muslim teachers as role models during their developmental periods, who understand their needs and demands.

TROJAN HORSE HOAX- BRIEF RESPONSE by TAHIR ALAM ,former Chair of Park View Educational Trust
Mr. Clarke’s and Mr. Kershaw’s and EFA reports grossly misrepresent and mis-characterise our schools; what I ( and others) stand for and what I have worked for in education, namely high academic standards and inclusion and respect for all children in our schools. This includes British Muslim pupils. I utterly reject fictional accounts seeking to justify that there was some kind of sinister plot by extremists to take over Birmingham schools. I have been accused of things I know nothing about or presumed guilty by association because it suited a politically motivated, predetermined agenda.
Now British Muslim children in these schools are being failed academically and are subjected to discriminatory practices. For example, broadly Islamic collective worship is banned, Friday prayers banned, etc. Muslim pupils are being denied an expression of who they are as British Muslims.
It is self-evident that Trojan Horse Hoax is not about preventing extremism or safeguarding children but about preventing Muslim parents from having a legitimate and democratic say in how their children are being educated and perhaps also to ‘save the Muslim children from Islam!’
Discrimination and politics of division and hatred has been perpetuated by DfE and Ofsted in the Trojan Hoax fiasco. The legacy for the school community is clear, it is now run by individuals who are unrepresentative of the community they serve. More than 90% children in Trojan Hoax schools are of the Islamic faith background but now not even a token single Trustee is from this background. Why? Has the democratic principle and Equalities Act 2010 been ditched?
In creating high performing schools, I and others involved are very proud of what we have achieved for our children in these deprived areas that have historically been failing children for decades. Our hard work and sacrifices now ruined overnight. The drumbeat of excuses for failure has already begun with Mr. Mike Tomlinson complaining about ‘staffing issues’ in Trojan Hoax schools. Dramatic fall in results are predicted. Destruction is far easier than construction. Who created this situation on the back of undated, unsigned hoax letter? And why are the DfE and Birmingham City Council not interested in finding out who wrote the letter and why?
Our children were not at risk of extremism nor were we negligent in this regard. This would be unacceptable. Mr. Clarke’s cock and bull story is not worth the paper it is written on – as there was no extremist plot in Birmingham schools by ‘Sunni hardliners’. By the way the original Trojan Hoax letter said it was a ‘Salafi’ plot. I was not running one. I have been promoting participation in education by parents and continue to do so to address issues of a culture of systemic failure, bad practice, low expectations and to ensure that state schools meet the needs of our children enshrined in regulation and law.
Normally praiseworthy civic participation has been depicted as illegitimate or sinister ‘infiltration’. I am a law-abiding British citizen. What I or other parents do as citizen is not ‘infiltration’. Our children attend state schools and parents have a right to hold schools to account on how they are managed, academic performance and meeting the needs of pupils.
Mr. Clarke has accepted allegations as being ‘fact’ without independently verifying them or corroborating them with those accused. Top policeman got the most basic of facts wrong. For example, Mr. Clarke claims I was Chair of the Association of Muslim Governors (AMG); I have never been the Chair of AMG! This was not checked with me nor with people who ran AMG. Why? This example is typical (not an exception) of the shoddy and desperate approach of Mr. Clarke took to prove predetermined outcomes for Mr. Gove, who, on a knee jerk reaction, hired him to look for ‘extremists and radicals’. This was a witch-hunt. An educationalist was required not anti-terror policeman!
Having analysed and taken both written and verbal evidence from multiple sources over many months; The cross-party House of Commons Education Select Committee, in its damning reporting on the handling of the TrojanHoax Affair was rightfully adamant that there was no co-ordinated plot. The report ‘Extremism in schools: the Trojan Horse affair’ concluded:
‘No evidence of extremism or radicalisation, apart from a single isolated incident, was found by any of the inquiries and there was no evidence of a sustained plot nor of a similar situation pertaining elsewhere in the country.’
In fact ‘isolated single incident’ refers to was a BBC Panorama documentary. Mr. Clarke also tells us that ‘Al-Qaeda terrorist’ video was copied in the school. What he deceitfully omits is that this was a BBC Panorama program which was copied for the Police (Prevent) not for school use. Another typical example of careful crafting and omission to misguide the public to a desired impression and conclusion.
While compiling their reports Mr. Clarke and Mr. Kershaw never put a foot in any of the schools nor spoke to any children or parents but were nonetheless able to arrive at ‘credible’ conclusions.
This paranoid reaction to the Trojan Horse letter has done so much damage to the education of our children and unjustly vilified British Muslim children, parents, teachers and governors – an entire minority community. Indeed the Trojan Hoax has been milked to the maximum for political ends and much legislation justified on the back of the myth of extremist plot to take over Birmingham schools.
The witch-hunt continues by the DfE in seeking to ban governors and teachers in order to prove that there was some reality to the Trojan Horse Hoax. For the pupils it has taken away the very role models that had the potential to inspire young Muslims.
As a responsible authority, if the DfE was concerned about what our school were doing, the rightful and measured action would have been to conduct an investigation and we would openly and happily supported that and corrected things as suggested. Instead what we witnessed and experienced was a coordinated offensive through the media with leaks of Ofsted reports, EFA reports, etc to vilify schools and individuals. Focus of the multitude of overlapping investigation was to find by hook or crook evidence extremism or radicalisation that simply did not exist. This was unjust and wrong.
We must all work for a peaceful, safe and a just society in which all children and communities can thrive as citizens regardless of their backgrounds.

Is social media a problem?
Single Sex Swimming
God has created diverse human beings to live in this tiny global village of one family. Creation by its very nature is diverse with different species, different communities, different cultures and languages. These differences represent the beauty and wonder but diversity is sometimes not fully appreciated, resulting in all sorts of clashes. The British society and Establishment must learn to respect and accommodate others, as if in a family.
Multiculturalism is not about integration but about cultural plurality. It is not about separation but about respect and the deepening awareness of Unity in Diversity. Each culture will maintain its own intrinsic value and at the same time would be expected to contribute to the benefit of the whole society. Multiculturalism can accommodate diversity of all kinds – cultural, philosophical and religious – so that we can create a world without conflict and strife. Britain can assume the role of accommodation and concern for all peoples, for our planet and indeed for our survival. Multi-Culturalism is even more important and crucial after 9/11 and 7/7. Muslim youths are also likely to feel alienated by a focus on shared Brutishness, rather than multicultural diversity. Rather than promoting a single British “us” teaching should acknowledge that “us” can be diverse and plural. Children should be encouraged to explore differences in appearance, history and religion to reduce social and educational fears.
Multiculturalism is not about integration but about cultural plurality. It is not about separation but about respect and the deepening awareness of Unity in Diversity. Each culture will maintain its own intrinsic value and at the same time would be expected to contribute to the benefit of the whole society.
The spirit of crusade is still alive in West. Now Muslim community is part and parcel of Western society, contributing for its prosperity, obeying Western laws and paying all sorts of direct and indirect taxes. What do you expect from them? People like you must learn to respect and tolerate those who are different. The demand for Masajid, state funded Muslim schools, halal food, sharia laws, time off for Friday afternoon prayers in the Masjid, two official religious holidays per year and Muslim cemeteries are not against the law of the land.
People are people, regardless of where they were born, what colour their skin is, or whatever religion. All deserve respect. Tolerance in Europe is an illusion. The problem isn't immigrants not adapting to Western culture, it's Europeans showing much disrespect and scorn to those who are of any immigrant background. even if an immigrant was well versed in European languages, knew the customs etc. would they still get employment? No. Would Europeans treat them as a decent human? No. So why would they want to assimilate into a culture that is constantly tearing them down?
Human rights are protected for minority communities in a country. The customs of the majority do not get special protection. Why? Because they are the customs of the majority, which already tend to be dominant if not dominating. It is precisely because of the tendency of majority cultural norms to be dominating that international human rights laws protect minority communities from them. I see human rights violations along two lines here: (1) the handshaking ritual is clearly a form of ritualized (silent) nationalist oath, enacted in a daily way at school, something that religious people do not have to engage in as they are able to show support for the nation otherwise and it is usually read as a violation of their religious right to hold God above everything, even the state; and (2) the right to the physical integrity of one's personal body cannot be violated by the state or the majority community without significant cause, e.g., a violent act, which might allow a state to put a citizen in prison. Children being forced to have physical contact with an adult against their will and the customs of their community, or even just in general -- even in a handshaking ritual -- can have emotionally damaging effects on children That the handshaking is expressed and explained as a nationalist ritual is significant. There is no such thing as an insignificant ritual of forced physical obedience.
What do you expect from a so called civilised Europeans? Native Europeans must learn to respect and tolerate those who are different. A Muslim is a citizen of this tiny global village. The whole world belongs to Muslims. Muslims are now part and parcel of the western society. The number of Muslims is on the increase because of immigration, high birth rate and conversion. There will never be an end to immigration because of low birth rate and ageing population. Muslim community needs Masajid, state funded Muslim schools with Muslim teachers, halal meat, sharia laws, time off for Friday afternoon prayers in the Masjid, two official religious holidays per year and Muslim cemeteries, otherwise, the future generations would be lost in western jungle.
Those who criticize and demonize Islam and Muslims often are those people who have no friends among Muslim communities, are often ignorant of the ABC of the religion or know about the diversity among its 1.7 billion followers who live in 60 countries.
Simply put, to judge Islam - the second largest religion on the planet - by the statements of idiotic terrorist movements and the deplorable actions of a tiny section among the Muslims is exactly as if Muslims look at Christianity through the eyes of Hitler's holocaust against Jews and IRA terrorism in UK, Judaism by the large-scale Israeli oppression against the Palestinians or look at Buddhism and Hinduism through the prism of the killing of thousands of Muslims by Buddhists and Hindus in Burma, Sri Lanka and India.
All religions preach peace and living in harmony. It is the followers who use or misuse the teachings for their political, social and cultural purposes. So my advice to you anti-Islam individuals is; Go and talk to a person with Muslim background, visit a Muslim family, take a trip to a mosque in your local area and you will see the folly of your remarks. Muslim communities live in the west are here to stay and we are not going anywhere so please get used to it.
Children must be educated according to the needs and demands of their parents. There must be a positive co-relation between home and school, otherwise, child will suffer academically, socially and emotionally. Muslim children must be educated in Muslim schools with Muslim teachers. Muslim children must develop their cultural. linguistic and spiritual identity before they are exposed to wider world, otherwise, they would be lost in western jungle.
Why mix up two issues. Giving swimming lessons is one issue which no Muslim would have any objection. The other issue is about mix gender swimming or children even of same gender taking shower NAKED together is not permissible in Islam. How can a country like Switzerland champion of human rights and freedom of religion not show any religious sensibility? Where does Swiss law state that children should have shower together NAKED? Does Swiss hospitals bathrooms/shower rooms are without doors so that patients of same gender or opposite gender can just walk in while someone is already having a shower? I am sure NOT. Muslim children with swimming trunks can have shower as a separate group – an arrangement that can easily be made. Children above 10 years should not have swimming lessons in mixed gender. If schools can make special need arrangement for disable person, similarly they should do for Muslim children if Switzerland is sincere in its human rights efforts.
Muslims would not like to send their boys even to ‘boys only’ swimming event, because after the swimming lessons all boys are showering together naked. The government of Switzerland has made an effort to teach all children to swim to prevent children from drowning and teaching them at a young age will give them a life long survival tool. Instead of trying to get their kids out of swimming, parents and the schools could try to come up with a solution like private lessons to make up the school requirements. As a paediatrician, I fully support teaching both girls and boys how to swim as it can save their life. If Swiss Muslims are having problems than they should definitely come up with a solution like providing/renting/building pool environments that are not mixed gender and with proper privacy in the locker rooms. The thing is that even one drowning because of privacy issues/modesty issues/religious issues of 10 year olds is inexcusable. The state should continue its policy of teaching children to swim, but they should also be open to different cultural approaches. On the other hand Muslims should not just pull their kids out of swimming, but should offer alternatives, so they aren’t guilty of negligence.
You surely don't love this man the way he loves his daughters, they are his flesh and blood and will always choose the best for them.you don't even know when he gets married and gives birth to them.he didn't seek your advise before getting married.if he chooses this for his daughters in line with his faith so be it,I see no reason why this is even a topic for debate.
You guys are so racist and bigoted, this is xenophobia. You claim to live in a society that guarantees freedom of religion and Association but this your latest move betrays that. You are pure hypocrites.so because they don't want their female daughters to have mixed swimming classes with your sons they should be sent back isn't it?? And they shouldn't be allowed to open their schools is that ?? You are the worst type of hypocratic and xenophobic animals I have ever known.God destroy you mother fuckers!!!
When the British go to south Africa did they integrate, you isolated your settlements, schools, roads, hospitals and even the legal system was a dual one.you did the same thing in India, you looked down on Chinese, you ridicule them, you equally hate and ridicule the Arabs and Moslems.

Cambridge professor calls on Brits to learn Urdu and Polish to make migrants feel welcome. BRITONS should learn languages such as Polish, Punjabi and Urdu to make immigrant families feel more at home, according to a Cambridge University professor.
Many more English speakers should think of immigration as a ‘two-way street’ and be able to communicate in another language to aid integration and social cohesion, said academic Wendy Ayres-Bennett. The call flies in the face of two major reports into integration in British society which called on immigrants to learn English if they want to live in the UK.
And today it was described as a ‘retrograde step’.
Stewart Jackson, whose Peterborough constituency has suffered from the impact of high immigration, said: “It’s important that new migrants integrate into British society and support British values and that means - for their own self interest and the good of society - learning and speaking and reading English.
“This demand flies in the face of government policy and good community relations and would be a retrograde step .”
Prof Ayres-Bennett, head of French philology and linguistics at the University of Cambridge and leader of the MEITS project promoting multi-lingualism, said: “It is very important to think of integration as a two-way street.
“I would like to see more opportunities for British people to learn some of the community languages of the UK, such as Polish, Punjabi and Urdu, particularly in areas where there are high numbers of those speakers, so that there is some mutual effort in understanding the others’ language and culture. “Even a basic knowledge would be beneficial, which might be acquired formally or through engaging in joint community projects. “Considering the issue from the point of view of language learning, we rightly expect immigrants to learn English but, as a nation, we often don’t see the need ourselves to learn another language, and consider it to be something difficult and only for the intellectual elite.”
The Casey Review was a year-long study of integration and named language problems as one of the biggest causes of alienation, which leads to extremist views. And the All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Social Integration called for compulsory English lessons for immigrants.
Dame Louise Casey was asked whether she agreed that integration was a “two-way street” – the idea that people who were already in the UK should adapt to newcomers. She said: “The process of immigrants is not a two-way street. I don’t think it’s a two-way street. I think that’s a sound-bite that people like to say.”
She went on to say that society made a mistake in making significant effort to accommodate people coming in from the outside and that the onus should mostly be on immigrants themselves to adapt to British culture.
Prof Ayres-Bennett said she supported recommendations for immigrants to learn English.
“Without English, immigrants are likely to develop exclusive social networks and alternative labour markets and for most people, language is at the very heart of their identity,” she added.
The largest ethnic minority groups in British schools are children of Pakistani origin: a community often accused of resisting assimilation and integration. Ann Cryer, the MP for Keighley blamed Imams for not speaking English. She should blame British schooling for not teaching Urdu/Arabic to Pakistani children, thus depriving them of understanding the Sermons in Arabic/Urdu. They are unable to enjoy the beauty of Urdu/Arabic literature and poetry. Imams are not part of the problem rather than the solutions. There is a proposal to teach Urdu as a compulsory language instead of French and German in British schools. The British Government is urged to remove the requirement in the National Curriculum that children between the ages of 11-14 study at least one European language.
In my opinion, native and Muslim children must learn Arabic and Urdu to make Muslims feel at home. The teaching of these languages will help native Brits to understand the needs and demands of the Muslim community and healthy community relations. It will help Muslim children to keep in touch with their cultural heritage and enjoy the beauty of their literature and poetry.
I live in a very multi-cultural area but the races rarely interact. One road is entirely populated by the Asian community, with sari shops and Indian gold sold. Rarely do you see any other race walk down it. On the high street there are a number of polish shops sprouting up. When I hear people passing by talking, it is never the English language. Immigrants do not think it necessary to integrate. Polish stick with Polish, Indians stick with Indians. It will never change no matter what the government say.
The linguistic abilities of large number of Muslim children were being ignored because they had to learn another European language as well as mastering English. The Government must promote the status of Arabic/Urdu languages instead of languages of European origin. Tim Benson, head of Nelson primary school in Newham said that the “nationalistic curriculum failed to recognize the staggering array of linguistic abilities and competencies” in schools such as his, where the pupils spoke more than 40 languages. The linguistic dexterity of families speaking an array of languages was celebrated but the “awesome achievements” of children mastering three or four languages were barely recognised by the education system. Social and emotional education comes with your own language-literature and poetry. A DFE's document clearly states that children should be encouraged to maintain and develop their home languages.
A study shows that bilingualism is a positive benefit to cognitive development and bilingual teacher is a dire necessity and is a role model. The price of ignoring children’s bilingualism is educational failure and social exclusion. Bilingualism could be developed by bringing a partner from Pakistan. The kids will get better at both languages. One will speak English while the other will speak Urdu.
Muslim children need to learn Qur'anic Arabic, Urdu and other community languages to keep in touch with their cultural heritage and enjoy the beauty of their literature and poetry. For this purpose, they need state funded Muslim schools with Muslim teachers. There are hundreds of state and church schools where Muslim children are in majority. In my opinion, all such schools may be opted out as Muslim Academies. There is no place for a non-Muslim child or a teacher in a Muslim school.

Burqa
MPs in the Netherlands have voted overwhelmingly in favour of a ban on wearing face-covering Islamic veils in some public places, including schools, hospitals, government buildings and on public transport.
The rule – which will outlaw all face coverings including ski-masks and helmets – was approved by 132 members of the 150-seat house. UKIP leader Paul Nuttall says UK should ban Burqa. Dutch lawmakers debate partial ban of burqas and Niqabs. Norway sets out plans for banning Burqa.
What do you expect from a so called civilised nation? West must earn to respect and tolerate those who are different. The problem of extremism we are experiencing is not "mass immigration", immigration has been happening since the dawn of mankind. The problem we are experiencing is a direct result of lack of respect and tolerance substituted by ignorance. The problem we are experiencing is the direct result of poor consciousness and awareness of selective "information" being conveyed to us through various mainstream media sources. There's a new mainstream anti-Muslim racism that is built on fears for the survival of Western values. That's the product of a nervous society in which social betterment is becoming increasingly difficult and in which there is a sense of omnipresent competition and struggle. The emotions generated by this are often not directed at a system, but at those who are different, at foreigners. This is also launched from the political arena and absorbed at grassroots level.
Burqa is not locking women, it is a buffer line between protecting chastity and exposing. Being naked and drunk is acceptable but being covered and modest is inhuman.
Surely nobody should be telling women what they can and can't wear. Face covering? Would that extend to my precious Ray Bans? Why not... apparently face-recognition cameras don't work when confronted by the simple sun glasses. And what about bushy beards and moustaches? And what next... hoods, floppy wide-brimmed hats, anti-pollution masks, scarves? Where does this silliness end? Just for peoples information when security's a concern the women can remove the veil and the few I've spoken to do.. On the grand scale of things how much of an issue is this really? Don't be distracted. Around 0.1% of the UK's Muslim population were a veil.
This is Britain. We are to a large extent 'free' people. Therefore they should be allowed to wear what they want. I am sick of government intervention in ever aspect of everyone's lives! So we make the rules to promote so-called Freedom of Right and then when we come up against an issue we don't know what to do. Typical Britain, where we do not seem to think about many things before we act in the first place. This is just the beginning. As they say when you go to Rome do what the Romans do! But we are not and will never be the Romans either.
When I were a lad I went to Spain. Most of the nuns wore full face veils and they were HUGELY respected for their religious vows. Fast forward to 21st century Britain and we're terrified of Muslim women in veils! Guess what? The media is constantly scaring us against them. Anti Muslim Britain or what? Who's orchestrating it? who keeps wanting to bomb Muslim countries? You know who! Don't hate. How is a women under a sheet a threat?
The government must've gotten it's people paranoid with its propaganda against Islam. I am more scared of my own government and policing in this country then al-Qaeda. al-Qaeda aren't got time for my a...
The UK's National Secular Society came out against a burka ban, saying "the NSS opposes any attempt to legally ban the burka or niqab. We do so on two grounds of principle: a woman's right to choose what she wears, i.e. her right to free expression; and her right to religious freedom."
Secularism is about respecting the right of people to follow any religion equally (or none), and of keeping religion out of politics and politics out of religion. Secularism is a check and balance against fundamentalist excess. Sensible people of faith are, or ought to be, secularists - unless they follow a brand of religion that wants to control everybody.
The question is not about to veil or not to veil but for every woman to have the right to choose. This is question of basic human right including the right to freedom of religion and expression. French administrators have played into people's fears and intolerance without adequately answering what great threat was posed by girls going to school in a headscarves? I do not believe in taking the rights of other people, and doing so shows the weakness of French democracy.
We live in an overly vain culture that is having a detrimental effect upon the mental health of young women. We live in an overly promiscuous society in which abortion rates keep going up along with sexually transmitted diseases. It is a reality that some women may choose to opt out completely of this culture because they find it burdensome and exhausting on the spirit. Modern society is failing women and this has social consequences, no wonder the majority of people turning to Islam in the West are women, and no wonder that many of the women who wear the Niqab are British born converts.
The right to wear a Niqab is in-keeping with people’s freedom of expression which supposedly a modern day Britain seeks to preserve. The right to wear a Niqab is preserved under religious freedoms which supposedly a modern state should seek to uphold if it wants to remain in keeping with the UN charter. If a women believes it to be fore mostly an act of submission and dedication to their God, then I see no argument for a modern Britain to interfere. The niqab does not conflict with principles of feminism if it is a woman's chosen form of dress. A significant aspect of feminism is giving a women the right to choose what she wishes to do with her own body. Many women who wear the niqab regard it as empowering, claiming that those they encounter, give greater value to their speech over their cosmetic appearance. That may seem strange to some people, but is it stranger than nudist beaches, pole dancing clubs or barely clad ladies staggering home in stilettoes after a night out on the tiles? Cultural conditioning and social constructions alone seem an unfair method of determining that which is ‘normal’.
French president wants Muslim women to be topless like his wife who posed topless in fashion shows. He has no right to ban the burqa because it is undemocratic and an unqualified attack on individual freedom. Burqa is not just a piece of cloth but a lot of ideological and cultural connotation to it. Women are just being exploited in the name of rights. Burqa protects women's rights and treat each women like a princess. No one has the right to ban the freedom of choice in a secular and democratic country. The right to choice is a basic fundamental right the person should have.
One Muslim woman, Caroline Chaiima, writing in Lepoint.fr, said she wore a veil: "Let those most closely concerned speak. I am a French woman born in France, with French parents, grandparents, great-grandparents, and I am a Muslim. I wear the full veil and I feel like saying: So what? I am happy behind the veil, I protect myself from depraved stares. Neither my father, nor my brother, nor my husband forced the full veil upon me; it's a personal choice."

Refugees Crisis
Refugees Crisis
Great Migrant invasion? Except when white Europeans do it, it's ok. Look at Australia, North America, South Africa and New Zealand.....full of white European migrants. White man's double standards.
Because colonization is the number one reason for immigration, its cause and effect and the consequences of invading and occupying other countries. For 500 years Native European migrants have wreaked havoc on Earth, before that no one knew where Europe was. The rest of the world is now pioneering the settlement of Europe. Great European countries who exported state terror to other countries and then criticise the fall out. Something wrong with that logic.
The Old Continent should invite the refugees, due to the wars it set up and funded; as a source of renewal, as fresh neuronal cells that will salvage Europe from Alzheimer’s. These people, these children (mainly the children), if they are given a chance to live, to work, to study, to create art, will contribute to the birth of a new continent. Europe is in its death throes, senile and grouchy, a Megaera with rotten entrails, contaminated by the fascisms it bred – and never perished.
Civilization is on the verge of a huge shift to a migratory population. Climate change is going to make large sectors of our planet uninhabitable and the populations of these places will migrate like the herds of Africa. It aren't goanna be pretty. Inexorably our overpopulation will be remedied. Humankind has been more clever than the planet can support.
I find it difficult to differentiate between refugees fleeing wars, fleeing food insecurity because of agribusiness policies, fleeing poverty because of IMF and World Bank policies. We can expect many, many more to be soon fleeing climate change but they will be considered economic migrant and not refugees. The British PM detailed it at the Summit and i paraphrase "if we help the refugees, we have to keep the migrants out"...and no doubt invent a league table of the deserving and the less deserving, the vulnerable and the less vulnerable... Don't we have to look beyond the immediate cause such as the Afghan/Iraq/Syrian wars and seriously think about erasing those imaginary lines drawn on the planet called borders.
There would be no refugee problem if there were no wars or threat of wars. WE invaded the countries of Afghanistan and Iraq. They were wars of our choosing. Neither Afghanis nor Iraqis attacked us on 9/11, even if you believe the official story. We fomented the Syrian disaster by using covert ops to identify people who were willing to overturn the Assad government and arming them and training them and when they came out of the shadows and used those arms, carefully orchestrated to make Assad look as though he had started the whole thing, Obama began his 'Assad must go' campaign. All hell broke loose in Syria because our government had again decided on regime change, as it had with Iraq and Libya. What part of 'we are in THEIR country' do we not understand. We started it, we broke it into smithereens, and we act as though we had nothing to do with it. Proud of our country? Not me.
Maybe we should think about the consequences of bombing countries before we bomb them? If we destroy their country, they should be allowed in ours. Is weird how after thousands upon thousands of years of conflict we haven't yet learnt the lesson: If you invade a foreign land, destroy their homes and ravage the land the locals will be displaced and roam around looking for a new place to settle... And for thousand and thousands of years at the start of each war the warmongers have uttered "this time it'll be different" We know this, but this has never been about people; it's about making money from waging wars. And that's what our governments excel in. And they know very well about the consequences, but they simply couldn't care less. The more they bomb Arabs, the more refugees will come seeking help and asylum, which means the extreme right in the West gets more support. Which means there's more public support from just bombing them over there instead.
Did we help Iraq? Afghan? Libya? Syria? No. I wonder when all the experts will realise our foreign policies are not working. Players like UK and USA take all the refugees since their are the main bombers.UK and USA should take all of the immigrants since these two are the ones that destabilised middle east in the first place. It would be great if instead of arguing about who should take how many we simply accepted that displaced people need a home and we should be making sure they have one, in a spirit of open humanitarianism.
We are facing one of the biggest refugee crisis since the second world war, the Med has turned into a human soup with desperate people fleeing for safety: running from certain death to an uncertain future, risking death and facing cruelty and indifference from our 'developed' societies,They don't want to leave their homes and come to Europe or anywhere else, they have no choice but what the hell, 'they're foreign and different and we don't like them so stick them in a hole and defecate on them', eh? I s that what you are saying scum? I am sick of being polite and nice to people who think we can't make a difference or we can't help. You just don't want to help because you are just too comfortable and you don't give a toss about anybody else. Go on, rant, rave and troll and let people die and show nothing but contempt and indifference but don't feel good about yourselves or think that you are a decent human being, your very lack of compassion shows that you are not. Go down the pub with your mates, buy a pair of shoes - you know, something important and caring.
Actually if you look at the refugee council statistics you will see that there are many Muslim countries have taken in refugees. Contrary to what the media tells us, the majority of refugees end up in countries that border the conflicted state. Lebanon has a large amount as has Jordan and other states that are much poorer than ours. If they fight for their country they are terrorists. Otherwise refugees. I wonder which one is easier. Perhaps the root of the issue isn't the fact that they are refugees, but how they are treated as refugees? It's time to make a humane stance for Refugees. They are fleeing war trying to save their families- some can only afford to send their children. While we sit in comfort these people are risking all for safety, time for compassionate stance and let the unaccompanied children in and young families. What would happen to these poor kids my heart does go out to them but they will still suffer from abusers who will exploit the wee souls God have mercy on them they didn't ask for life to give them a raw deal yet in a way people are struggling and the world is so untrusting and sick i can see both side don't know what the solution is to keep kids safe.
"It is time for leaders to enter into a serious, constructive debate about how our societies are going to help people forced to leave their homes by war and persecution," Shetty said.
This is heart breaking reading. For all of those haters out there, just imagine one of these kids being a member of your family or group of friends. The desperation, fear and loneliness these guys must be feeling. They're kids for fucks sake! Any of the people living in the conditions these guys are deserves help (and before people start, I don't agree with poverty in the Uk either). It's such a sad state of affairs.
Yes we have children in need here, which is disgusting as we are the 6th richest country in the world. We have plenty to go around, but sadly have a Conservative government who are only interested in them and theirs. Do our own children have food? Yes they do, even if it's sadly from a food bank.! Can they get clean drinking water? Yes they can! Do they have access to medication, treatment and pain relief? Yes for now, until this Conservative government fully privatise our NHS! Then we too will have men women and children suffering and dying in agony because they can't pay for treatment, medication or pain relief! Do our poor children have to worry about bring injured, maimed or killed by bombs each and every day! No thankfully they don't! Are there homes flattened to the ground? No they aren't and if they have no homes, although a hostel isn't very nice, at least they have a roof over their head! Big, big difference!!!!! There's only one world and only one human family. What if they were your children? But they're not are they?
Muslim Refugees children must be adopted and fostered by Muslim families. On top of that they must be educated in state funded Muslim schools with Muslim teachers as role models during their developmental periods. Muslim children must develop their cultural. spiritual and linguistic identities before they are exposed to wider society, otherwise, they would be lost in western jungle.
The NHS's problems stems from the fact that it is being overstretched without being afforded the resources needed to run it. Immigrants, refugees, tend to be younger people who have relatively fewer health issues than older people. The primary burden is still the local elderly population. The NHS has a mandate to see and treat everybody in need, but the government is currently rendering it more and more difficult for the NHS to fulfil this mandate--understaffing, lack of funding, demoralising remaining staff. The country has the resources to run the NHS properly, but the current government is not interested in that. No money for the NHS but the Government always come up with money for bombs . Refugees are not the enemy but the people that made them refugees are . Blindly following what the media tell you ,get out in tot eh real world and truly understand what the real problem is & its not innocent people escaping War.
When a Group like International Rescue who are happy to pay the likes of David Milliband over 400,000 for whatever he does for you, the same David Milliband who voted for war in Iraq, against investigating said war and wants Trident replaced with some other nuclear weapon system. The same David Milliband who is responsible for the creation of these refugees, I can only laugh, or sob. Hypocritical organisation who wants my money to pay the likes of David Milliband. so No. I'm happy to stand with Refugees if for no other reason than we made their lives at home a living hell but stand beside this group. I think not I'd puke!
A minority of extremists are violent and dictatorial. Their religion has the potential to be full of violence and hatred, but then so does Judaism and Christianity - all three Abrahamic religions come from a common root. Historically there have been plenty of progressive Muslims and there still are, they made many of the discoveries that are the basis of our science today and continue to make positive contributions across society.

Ticking Time Bombs
‘Samsung’s Galaxy Note 7 is not the company’s only smartphone prone to dangerous explosions, according to a new lawsuit that says a Galaxy S6 Active shot out flames 5in high and left one user with melted flesh.
It was revealed that the lithium ion battery was causing combustions.
More than 90 Samsung Note 7 phones have caused damage, and problems continued even after the company recalled and replaced some of the phones.
The Note 7 is now banned from many airlines, forcing the company the open stalls in airports where owners can swap or refund devices before boarding.
The reports also mentioned problems with the Galaxy S2, Galaxy Tab 2, Galaxy Tab 3, Galaxy S3, Galaxy S4 Active, Galaxy S5, Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge.
“As the batteries progressed and became more powerful, the consequences became more significant,” said Gene Stonebarger, another attorney representing the Coverts. “This information is being repressed and has not been made public by Samsung. They are clearly aware of the dangers of their phones beyond the [Galaxy Note 7].”
“People should not have to live in fear that they are walking around with a ticking time bomb.”
A Samsung spokesperson declined to comment’.
Herein lies the ultimate question
Android or Iphone?

West oppresses women
WOMEN’S RIGHTS ABUSED IN EUROPE
Europe claims that it protects women’s right.
It also claims it gives freedoms.
It also makes a lot of the claims.
Lets check European claims.
Have a good look at this photo of the brutal French police forcing a female to take off her cloths on a beach in southern city of Nice.
This was not in 1716.
No. It was in 2016.
Women are still not allowed to wear what they want in modern Europe!!
Some gullible people were still living under the delusion of West’s claims “freedom and human rights for women”.
Well,
Now we all know, don’t we?
Look at this picture of France moral police:

Photo: August 2016.
This is Europe in 21st century.
This photo is enough proof that women are being oppressed in western Europe.
The veil is coming off from the lying faces of the so called “freedom promoters”.
Women are being forced to take off clothes in the civilized West.
Say it as it is.
Malik, 2016.
