Three Little Pigs 'too offensive'

A story based on the Three Little Pigs has been turned down from a government agency's annual awards because the subject matter could offend Muslims.

The digital book, re-telling the classic fairy tale, was rejected by judges who warned that "the use of pigs raises cultural issues".

The judges also attacked Three Little Cowboy Builders for offending builders.

They also warned that the story might "alienate parts of the workforce (building trade)".

Anyone felt offended by the story?

I prefered the original version by the brothers grimm.

* exclaimer - if you have never seen season 1 or 2 it is strongly recommended you dont watch season 3 coz firstly it won’t make sense and secondly you will only ruin it for yourself if you decide to watch it back to front.

frankly getting into a tv show like that is unhealthy, watching tv is okay but when you cry when the main guy dies i find it absolutely riddiculous and slightly funny.

I have never cried over a tv programme and never will thats just stupid.

i thought you said you didnt watch it? Probs wont be able to tell who whistler is till the end of the series.

Why did you make the assumption that you thought i dont cry over tv programmes?

No not the gum drop buttons! – Gingy

Because you seem sensible.

Those who danced were thought to be quite insane, by those who couldn't hear the music...

Bnp has split into a new voice of change group! wow same old crap just a different name like for instance the deputy prime minister has said that mosques in britain are extremer than iraq and mosques in blackburn would have been banned blah blah blah at the end of the article it says there are 20 mosques in blackburn and 30,000 muslims lol sorry but this makes me laugh.

Please let me clarify all that.

A splinter faction of the BNP that has been around for a few months at least, calling itself Voice of Change, is opposing Nick Griffin's leadership. There's no indication that they are any less racist than the regular old BNP, which splintered years ago from the National Front. The BNP has been attempting to soften its image by focusing less on holocaust denial and classic racism and more on supposedly being the only party, through its anti-immigration stance, that can counter terrorism. This purported reform is a pan-European neo-nazi tactic. Whereas most people know the BNP are a bunch of White Nationalist thugs.

On a different note, an MP from the Conservative Party reports the Iraqi Deputy Prime Minister, Barham Salih, as having told him that literature on display in Blackburn mosques would be outlawed in Iraq on grounds of incitement. Salih has yet to clarify these views publicly. Naturally the BNP on their website has picked up on this.

 • It can never be satisfied, the mind, never. -- Wallace Stevens

If the MP's recollection is confirmed by Dr Salih, it's interesting. Not that it would need to be to make the Express front page but still. Several years ago few outside of Islamic circles were aware of the increasing array of conspiracy theories and calls to action and the burgeoning of imported radical programmes at many mosques and masjids. You could see a bit of it on campus and if you knew the wrong people (weed dealers for my part), and nowadays it's quite freely available on the web and all over the place, but the idea that literature is available locally that would be banned (although no doubt still available) in Iraq is pretty big news to most people.

 • It can never be satisfied, the mind, never. -- Wallace Stevens

...or the Iraqi Deputy Prime Minister is trying to somehow please the British government by supporting their agenda...

I dunno, I've never been to Blackburn, and I've never been to Iraq, but I've never been handed anything remotely controversial - maybe some leaflets promoting legal, sanctioned protests about issues such as Guantanemo and Palestine etc. and stuff about how Islam teaches that we should be environmentally friendly.

Maybe Blackburn has some holes in it...but how many?

Don't just do something! Stand there.

Ya'qub,

Maybe I'm being arrogant but I think you're late to the party.

I thought I had the best name ever.

But For the last few days I have been reading about "Anonymous" and its war to dismantle scientology.

First thought it was a joke. Who would call themselves Anonymous? (it is not a single person, but a group), but now I am seeing it used elsewhere...

What an awesome name. Anonymous.

y?
u thinkin of sueing them?

"ThiS WoRlD Iz A PrIsOn 4 A BeLiVeR AnD PaRaDiSe 4 A NoN-BeLiVeR.........."

lol no
but technically its a business and the magazine contains alot of info what if someone reads somehting and as a result i dont know suffer some sort of breakdown and decides to sue. Plagiarism is also another issue (not that im accussing anyone but it can happen unintentionally). Look what happended to Dan Brown. Would the revival be prepared for something like that?

Just a thought.

They'd have to find us first!

I imagine we'd be glad of the publicity... Lol

Well technically the revival isnt a business.

We're a non-profit organisation... and no one can make money from a non-profit organisation.

Yes you have!

there would be nothing to sue us for Biggrin

and plus, if your thinking of being the legal representative of the revival....back off..i am Dirol

oh, and whistler cant be an assassin or something, would be too obvious? i think if we find out what he is, it will explain a lot to do with the company, why michael has to break whistler out, and probably more

but knowing prison break, finding out that....will jus raise another 100 questions!!
