Its amazing how many people i see in my normal uni gym not the boxing gym who dont stretch or warm up properly because it may look girly or uncool - Its not big and its not clever lol!

Is anyone here ever in pain after a full on/strenous working out session? Or after playing any sports?
What's the correct "cooling down" procedure that one should do after excercise to prevent the body from aching?
all the stuff people mentioned about stretching before and after the workout, and a hot shower after you're done usually relaxes the muscles.

I had forgotten how much fun exercise and games are…
I was learning and teaching PE all last week…I had totally forgot about the importance of cooling down….. so after the last, most strenuous workout on Friday I was reading my Salaah sitting down for the last two days… :?
i spent most of my summers with the job of "picking up the shuttlecok when it drops on the ground" when my sister/dad etc used to play badminton
I've never ran for the bus
I dont do races or sporty games
I think I'm allergice to any type of sport

I used to bunk PE in a different kind of way. I used to make up an excuse, such as I'm ill or lost my PE kit so we were taken to an IT room where we sat on the computers....how fun is that!
Thats it MuslimSisLilSis, I don't do sports aswell. I'm skinny anyway so why bother exercising. Are you thin aswell....is that why you don't do exercise?
That reminds me I've got a girl in my class who is as skinny as a skeleton but she eats like a pig....isn't that an illness?
i have a friend who's like that as well. it isn't necessarily an illness, they probably just have a high metabolism.

Im 6ft 3 and 14 stone (not fat at all) but people seemt to think i must throw up or something because i eat like a horse and dont seem to put it anywhere.
They dont know that i train like hell in boxing and so it wud be very hard to put weight on even when eating loads.
Oh yeh about cooling down n stuff never just relax after anything always keep walking about etc. so blood doesnt pool in certain parts of yr body.

I admire your dedication Dave. My friends from high school used to work very hard on their stomachs...one friend of mine would do 80-100 sit ups every night.
I've considered this many times too...but by night time I'm so sleepy, I just about manage to brush my hair/teeth and do my prayers before collapsing in bed.
If I was a tad bit more vain..I'd work out reg.
80-100!? That's not going to do anything!
It's a little different for guys though, we get competitive (with ourselves) about working out, it's like 'I did 1300 crunches last night so I have to beat that by 100 tonight." But mostly I'm just incredibly vain. I'm a bit of a preening boyscout.
Sit ups aren't really that good for you, you can seriously mess up your back (I did), crunches are much better, but they work on a specific set of muscles rather than an entire muscle system
If you don't have the time for it at night do it in the morning - it's better then anyway; and just plan it into your schedule - scheduling is really important.
Lol-I’m a very grouchy, lazy girl when it comes to early mornings…I just about manage to drag myself out of bed to attend Uni/work on time…
All I need to do is increase my stamina and feel refreshed now and again…one needs a lot of motivation and self control to religiously work out like you do daily, which I don’t have, so I’ve decided to join a pay-as-you-go gym as soon as I find one. :?

Basketball is a really good sport to play after lifting because it loosens you up a lot more and gets the lactic acid out of your muscles (I think).
It is either a illness such as anorexia or bulimia but in most cases the person who claims to eat like a pig and yet never puts on weight is a liar.

And the diff between sit ups and crunches is?
i visited the gym today
i was unhappy with the rip off prices and the limited number of sessions they offer for "women's only" sessions
but i was happy with their student concessions rate
i've made the resolve to visit the gym with my sister at least twice a week for the 4 long summer months that I'm at home
after forking out so much for their compulsory inductory sessions-i need to get my moneys worth
