Thank youuuu
Your welcome.

Nooooooo, dont tell us your grades. As long as you got your place at uni.....

What course are you going to be doing?

MuslimBro — Fri, 18 Aug 2006 - 20:15

I chose criminology for uni, wanna work someplace dangerous, such as in the police force or prison (in a senior position hopefully).

Angel what about you, where do you wanna work?

MuslimBro - I disassociate myself from ANY illegal activities - be they related to motoring offences or to GBH or to anything else which is deemed unlawful by Her Majesties Government.

For the record - any such activities mentioned by me are merely in jest/my imagination - I trust no further action will be taken.

i cant help it,especially when ur so close.
But I don't think you should expect your A2 grades to pull your AS grades up, it should be the opposite as AS is more easier than A2 so you should do better at AS and expect your AS grades to pull your A2 grades up.....if you know what I mean. Anyways, Congratulations!

Well basically I wana go into social work but since I aint qualified in that field I am plannin on doin a few months of voluntary work plus other job to cover me financially. Also in janaury thinkin of going to college to do a short course in social work which also gives placement that way i'll get experience and from there I can work my way up inshallah.

Soon as I get back from Al-Hidayah camp i am going to start lookin for both voluntary and paid work inshallah. (getin bored sittin in the house doin nothing apart frm mum forcing me to learn how to cook!)

Med, as you are talking about driving offences
Went leeds n sheffield today. Mom wasnt too impressed with my speed  - but my philosophy is when a journey can take an hour n a half why take 2 hours to do it 😛 .

Cars are something I dont know much about - cept that the faster and more sick they look - the better 8)
Unfortunately not everyone gets caught!
by the way Muslim Bro which uni u goin to?
The ONLY uni which is not far and does criminology is greenwich, I know it's not the best uni in london but I really wanna do criminology so rejected all the other better uni's who do criminology but I have to choose another subject with it (joint honours degree....I think.)

Angel being a social worker means you have alot of responsibility, especially with those rising cases of child cruelty. So after uni you wanna keep on studying....good for you.

MuslimBro — Tue, 22 Aug 2006 - 04:41

 You better not be lying....

I'll let you know how my 'class' is. Btw will I have a form class? And do we all sit together around a table or do we sit in our separate desks?....I'm very curious.

What do you do on your 'induction day'?

lol calm down!

what day do you start?....mine is 20th september, giving me 4 months and 2 days of holidays 😃

induction day is a waste of time.....you do have to enroll tho, besides that probably show you around, give you some boring induction lectures.....now i remember my 1st year....LOTS OF BORING LECTURES.

its a waste of time. trust me, enrol....grab ur mates....go for a flexx 😃

you have lots of lectures in a week - in a lecture theatre with everyone in it.....and a few tutorials, where your put in a diff group for each module (sometimes).

you have a form tutor, who u never see in ur whole uni life, unless your having problems or struggling blah blah blah.....i went to see mine once coz i had to ....he had long white hair, and a peircing in his tongue....and was waay to friendly.....and then outside his room i noticed the 'gay/lesbian etc' posters.......safe to say, i never seen him again 😃

MuslimSister — Tue, 22 Aug 2006 - 20:05

Lol-don't listen to Sirus induction week for newbies is very very important...

Uni life is very different to college, high school etc...you have to do all the running about yourself.

In induction week they tell you ALL that you need to know...I remember bunking one session with my new mates and didnt learn how to register for modules...at the end of my first yeat I realised that I was sitting in lectures that I wasnt even registered for....as a result my name wasnt on the register and my grades werent being put on the record...I had to do so much running around trying to sort that out.

You need to know who your student Union is....where to go etc.

Also...you get nice freebies in the Freshers Fair...

However, first year in general is a doss...I hardly attended any lectures.

Angel — Tue, 22 Aug 2006 - 20:18

I didn't attend my induction mainly coz I didn't know anyone who was going to my uni and I didn't want to come across as a loner coz I was used to being around people in school. However I got used to hanging around with less people at uni, its made me more of a private person which i dont mind.

Lectures- atended hardly any but that is soo not a good idea! Whoever is going to start uni this year, attend most of your lects (coz its imposible to attend all) and do all your coursework in advance and make sure u study very hard for you exams. I got mostly B's by not doing all that, I could have done better. I do regret that.

lol well said sirus. my induction was a waste of time( well thats what i thought at that time), i dint go to any of the fresher fairs, got no freebies at all. but later wondered why everyone knew exactly what was going on in the first few weeks and i was the only one who didnt. 😃 😃 😃

Sirus — Wed, 23 Aug 2006 - 00:15

oh you can find out whats going on by asking nicely, or asking someone who went thru the pain of attending!

believe me.....ask someone to get you a copy of everything

lol, MS, how can you be in the wrong lecture! 😂

uni life is difficult in one way........u got loads to do, but u really cant be bothered.

besides that, its easier than college and uni.....u can flexx 24/7

dont worry 8)

MuslimBro — Wed, 23 Aug 2006 - 03:38
what day do you start?
25th is my induction day, it's at 11am....so do we finish at lunch time or in the evening?....I don't wanna miss CITV which starts at 3:30 😂
induction day is a waste of time.....you do have to enroll tho
Is that where you need to show em your passport and other documents?
its a waste of time. trust me, enrol....grab ur mates....go for a flexx 😃
Don't know anyone who's doing the same course as me so guess will be alone 🙁 . But I guess uni is the time where people start getting more independant.

What's the diffrence between lectures & tutorials?....I heard tutorials are more important.

The people who are in uni....Do you have laptops?....is it essential?....(other than playing games or watching dvd's)

So you guys are saying that lectures are optional?

Sirus, if you have loads to do in uni then how can you flex 24/7? :? ....unless you've been cheating 😃
