true, departures and the actual flight are more fun than arrivals, but meeting relatives u havent seen in ages is also exciting.

lol about the toilets - i have a policy of never using public toilets, ever.

ur right the cockpit was so cool, its amazing how many control buttons and things there are, dunno how they keep track! when i was younger people werent so uptight about security and i'd always ask to be allowed into the cockpit and usually got in. i doubt kids nowadays would get the same chance.

I can't speak for jets but in most planes the majority of those nobs displays and buttons are Avionics (this the system in my bonanza) either nav equipment or communications. And at least for smaller planes that's usually the most expensive (and unfortunately most often replaced) stuff.

...not a fan of airports atm. I'm supposed to go to Asia but it keeps getting pushed back due to technical problems.

They are interesting places though... fast paced, technological, busy - kind of a microcosm of modern life.

Take a tower tour sometime - you can request them and they are really cool.

I recieved one of my presentation tasks today...

"List all the skills you're good at, pick one skill and teach your chosen skill to the rest of group"

(10min).

Sounds simple enough...but what on Earth should I teach them? :?

Intresting suggestions.

But I can't sew and I do not know how to put a virus onto a computer.

I was thinking maybe I should teach them how to bake a cake or something...and in the end pulling out some Madeira Cake brought from a shop...you know, Blue Peter style "Here's one I made earlier"..?

No more tight see-through dress:

POLICE IN IRAN GET TOUGH WITH WOMEN

Al Jazeera - Wednesday 19 April 2006

Iran has said it will renew its crackdown against women who violate the Islamic dress code in the capital.

Iran's police force outlined plans on Tuesday for a renewed crackdown against women who they say show off too much of their bodies in the streets of Tehran.

Morteza Talai, Tehran's police chief, told the semi-official Fars agency: "In our campaign, we will confront women showing their bare legs in short pants."

"We are also going to combat women wearing skimpy headscarves, short and form-fitting coats, and the ones walking pets in parks and streets," he said.

Also police will stop "the ones creating noise pollution" by playing their car stereos too loud.

Obligation

Every post-pubescent female in Iran, regardless of her nationality or religion, is obliged to observe the Islamic dress code and cover her shape and hair whenever outside the home.

Since the 1979 Islamic revolution, Iran's ruling clerics have been trying to keep women under wraps and away from the risk of "Westoxication".
According to Talai, 50 patrol cars will be cruising Tehran to implement the measures.

He also said shops selling skimpy clothing would be charged.

Over the past eight years, more and more women have seized on a reformist current in the country and have switched the all-black uniform for figure-hugging and brighter coats.

Headscarves have also been slipping.

Revolution's values

But conservatives are now in total charge of the country after June's election of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, the president who has pledged to restore the values of the revolution.

Jamal Karimi-Rad, the justice minister, said that "according to the Islamic criminal law, women who do not observe the veil can face 10 days to two months imprisonment or a fine".

"Being un-veiled or badly veiled is an offence. Law enforcement officials can act against it," he said, but added that offenders could pay a fine of $5.50 to $55 instead of going to jail.

Police crackdowns on skimpy dressers are common every summer, when many women defy the rules by wearing trousers that stop above the ankles, sandals showing off painted toenails, lighter coats revealing their curves and flimsy headscarves.

But press reports say conservatives in Tehran's city council have put additional pressure on the police to get tough.

Nader Shariatmadari, a council member, was quoted by the Shargh newspaper as saying that "these days a woman has lots of problems buying a proper coat. Women are pushed to buy coats that may as well be blouses".

"If the shops and manufacturers observe the Islamic law, the problem will be sorted out," he said.

Guys be serious please...my presentation is due next Friday and I'm totally blank.

Try organisational skills, you could teach agenda setting and action plans and appropriating little rewards for tasks accomplished.

You could teaach them how to sneak into Islamic programs under the pretext of going uni or shops.

You could teach them how to conduct study circles, yeah do this one:
.How to maintain attention of students
.How to regain control of a the class when all the kiddies start talking in groups.
.How to motivate the students.
.How to be sensitive to each individual and apply rewards/punishments as meets the individual whilst not openly displaying favouritism of special behaviour.
.Tricks for establishing rapport with new/shy people.
.How to encourage everyone to contribute.
.How to maintain the interest in a subject of discussion etc

Useful?
