hi

hello pal

and to the silly girl above, yes it does Smile

The Lover is ever drunk with love;
He is free, he is mad,
He dances with ecstasy and delight.

Caught by our own thoughts,
We worry about every little thing,
But once we get drunk on that love,

What is it with Asian who couldn’t get into medicine opting for ICT or a Business degree?

lol, true. But even then, why it gota be medicine n pharmacy! Therz hundreds of courses, yet asians only knw medicine, pharmacy, dentistry, ict, law, and business.

Business studies by far is the easiest 1 to get into, and imo, its a joke

What do you all mean by teachers dont have a life? I think teachers get the best opportunity to have lives, ie finish at 4-5 and then have loads of holidays to go abroad etc :?

Why do people say that? :?

I teach/lead/prepare for two study circles a week…I also work 2/3 full days a week in schools. I have more than enough time for other stuff….OK so I’m not teaching full time at the moment, but I do teach every summer in Summer School…which is full time for 5 weeks, in which I’m teaching full time and also usually involved in the Admin side/organising end of summer school programmes/writing up and markings hundreds of tests as well etc .

I still always have more then enough free time to do other stuff…I think, as long as you’re an organised individual you can easily cope with any profession with a high level of work load.

It's true that teachers do get a LOT of holidays...every 6 weeks they're off for a week or two.

Angel its not that simple - teachers bring their work home with them!

MuslimSis i dont mean to put u off (not that i can, ur quite determined mashaAllah Lol but my friend stopped having a life when she started her PGCE course - she's specialising in secondary schooling. (and i am referring to secondary school teachers here).
teachers always bring their work (marking, lesson planning etc) home with them. i remember my mom working into the night when i was a kid, her desk was in my room. its easier to cope when one is single but ofcourse married life brings more responsibilities, my mom was a supermom which is the only reason she managed to just about cope with everything. Wink

When I get into teaching!!

I agree with that...obviously at the moment I have no responsibilities at all…I don’t have a house to maintain or kids to look after.

I doubt I’d be able to work fulltime in the future. But I think that's with any profession for women...incl doctors and social workers etc

Its hard to balence everything, unless your a supermum.

I agree with MS thats with every job if its not physical stress of work then its mental which to me can be more hard most of the time, esp. when your work involves people telling you some very personal matters (have experienced this b4 and i think its more hard to stablise yourself mentally)

Seraph dont tell me, your a liar too

If that is the correct term, this Gap has been 2 years and counting Cray 2

I would rather make the correct choice rather then making a rational decision or following the pack, for instance I have a friend who studied Media Design at university after his gradation, he is now working for London Underground customer service- where the logic in that?

so what have u been doing in ur gap years? u shud have gone to syria or somewhere in the middle east to study arabic and islamic studies till u made up ur mind on a career path, stil do that... Smile

Sister you’ve hit the nail in the coffin- I did have a well paid job with Aral foods but I was injured at work- had to stop working and since I didn’t have use of my hand’s I couldn’t exactly write thus I’ll be no good in uni.

Alhamdulillah I’m better now and working again, I do need to save money for university which I have been doing, on the Islam Channel, which I mention earlier about the brothers discussion- he said he went to Syria, when he broke for the summer since they have long summer’s holidays - this is what I intend to do….Insha’Allah

Some of my friends are just finishing their PGCE and they didn’t find it too bad. I guess it depends on ones level of interest and dedication…but I suppose any course at post graduate level would be a bit more full on.

The course that literally leaves no time for anything else is medicine…I almost never see my cousins because they’re always studying so much. :?

It was my dream to go to Syria...I wanted to go after my degree, cos I was so sick to death of studying so much and for so long...I said to my family that I can do my PGCE any time in life.

But it's not always feasible for a young, unmarried Pakistani girl to travel and live abroad on her own... :?

Referring back to the Islamic channel program , the brother mention that there are families from the UK studying in Syria and married couples alike, Insha’Allah when your happily married go with your husband.

I just got my Exam results from Jan, and guess what..

I PASSED!!!!!!!!!!!! Biggrin
