Muslim Ummah?
The Muslim Ummah
Sectarian violence persists to this day from Pakistan to Yemen and is a major element of friction throughout the Middle East
Battle of Siffin
May–July 657 CE) occurred during the First Fitna, or first Muslim civil war, with the main engagement taking place from July 26 to July 28. It was fought between Ali ibn Abi Talib and Muawiyah I, on the banks of the Euphrates river,
Following the controversial murder of Uthman ibn Affan, Ali had become Caliph but struggled to be accepted as such throughout the Muslim Empire. Muawiyah, the governor of Syria, was a kinsman of the murdered Caliph, and wanted the murderers brought to justice. He considered that Ali was unwilling to do this so Muawiyah rebelled against Ali,
The battle and arbitration served to weaken Ali's position, but did not resolve the tensions that were plaguing the empire. To the Shia, Ali ibn Abi Talib was the first Imam. To Sunnis, Ali ibn Abi Talib was the fourth Rashidun Caliph, and Muawiyah the first Caliph of the Ummayyad dynasty.
Battle of Basra
The Battle of Basra (also known as the Battle of the Camel or Battle of Jamal) was a battle that took place at Basra, Iraq in 656 between forces allied to Ali ibn Abi Talib (Muhammad's cousin and son-in-law, Commander of the Faithful)
and forces allied to Aisha (widow of Mohammad, and Mother of the Believers
In the war, Aisha accompanied her army in her camel-litter.
Professor Leila Ahmed claims that it was during this engagement that Muslims fought Muslims for the first time.[21] Battle ensued and Aisha's forces were defeated. Aisha directed her forces from a howdah on the back of a camel; this 656 AD battle is therefore called the Battle of the Camel.
The combat had lasted 110 days in total.
End of the battle
Marwan ibn al-Hakam shot his own Muslim general
Yeh hai aap ki so called ummah

Re: Muslim Ummah?
Lolly is not doing anything evil.
i think she has right to judge muslims, just as muslims have right to judge kafirs.
you dont have to part of something to give your view about it. im not an american but i think they are bunch of war mongering, stupid, human rights violating, dumb, dictator supporting, prisoner torturing, evil terrorists.
In short, Americans are in grip on Great Satan, as our Ayatollah had rightly labelled them.
As long as lolly is saying things that are right, she has every right to give us facts.

I think you need to distinguish between the general American public, and the govt! Not all the Americans are supportive of their govt's actions, you know

Re: Muslim Ummah?
Everyone has the right to hold a view
Muslims are an Ummah, Pakistani Muslims are Palestine Libya Iraq Syria ke mamoo does any Muslim country give a dam about Kashmir?
Saddam was friends with Endia and not Muslim Pakistan
Sunni of Saudi want the US to attack Iran because its a Shia nation with nuclear weapons
Unrealistic?
Sunni Shia Wahhabi Ahmedi praying in the same Mosque unrealistic?
Stop calling each other Kafir during khutabs at the Mosque unrealistic?
Stop fighting over moon sightings unrealistic?
Celebrating Eid on the same day and stop having 10 eids in 1 house unrealistic?
If having Eid on the same day as each other is unrealistic then this Ummah is unrealistic

Re: Muslim Ummah?
Those are not the only things you suggested are they? You were suggesting that there should be no disagreements or violence at all; even if most Muslims were united as one Ummah (community) then you would have rejected that by quoting some random person.
I think we should consider what the Prophet said: "the Ummah are like a body, if one part is injured or sick, the rest feel the pain."
If we can do that then we are one Ummah.

You're not a Muslim, you're not part of the 'we'.

She is repeating his own assertions.
Maybe not kind, but he isnt here for that IMO.
I tried to take him at face value for a long time, but I think that may have been foolish of me.
(normally in such cases I consider being a willing fool better than the alternative though.)

Re: Muslim Ummah?
What? He's not a Muslim so why is he saying he's part of the we? Why should he be part of the we. Yes the word 'ummah' isn't just for Muslims but here that is specifically what is being discussed.
You find random stuff offensive

Re: Muslim Ummah?
If that is the case, you dont need to be here.
No one is forcing you to come here.
If you really want out, I am sure there are plenty of other communities where you would feel free and at home.
