Has Halloween put a spell On you?

Another crazy non-Islamic holiday celebrated by many in the west. All part of the holiday fever as we get that much closer to Christmas.

So the celebration of Halloween with its ghosts, goblins, lions, tigers and bears (oh my). So the dilemma how to handle it? Do we shun it, avoid it, stick it in a pan and serve it?? Or do we take part in the "fun"???

We all know by now that Halloween has clear connection to the pagan celebration of Samhain marking the beginning of winter. Around which the barriers between worlds (seen and otherwise) were broken and the dead would rise (think Ghosts and not Micheal Jacksons Thriller video). At which time they prayed to the Sun god and the Lord of the Dead (everyone altogeather now: ASTAGFARRULLAH! *clapping*) as they made animal sacrifices to appease them.

Muslims have three main celebrations: Eid al-Fitr, Eid al-Adha and Eid Milad an Nabi. All of which are based on our faith and religion. That uphold and honor Islam. Therefore how can we be Muslims whilst also participating in pagan celebrations associated with their gods? tut tut shame on you... bad bad bad... go to your room! *nea*). Leave the celebrations for Eid. And if you think Eid is not as fun, then make it more fun. You only have yourself to blame if your Eid was boring.

Stay strong, stay steadfast in your faith and keep it halal. Discourage friends, brothers, sisters and children from participating. And let this October 31st go unmarked as just another day.

It's the most wonderful time of the year... or is that Christmas?

Anyway...remember that Hajj was originally celebrated by pagans...that 'in itself' does not make it haram. Dressing up like Goblins and Devils make it haram, lol!

So what should you do if Trick or Treaters knock on your door? Give the innocent kiddies some sweets or risk your home getting egged?

I prefer option 3. Fill up your watergun (if you dont have one then now is the time to invest in one) with rotten eggs. When they knock on get em before the get you :badgrin:

Just because they look like a vampireor a zombie, it doesn't mean they'll actually attack you.

But just IN CASE a real werewolf turns up at your door, use a gun loaded with silver bullets, it's the only thing that will kill them (apparantly it works quite well on chavs too).

lol, no. I hate turning people away empty handed.
And i was too scared they may egg the house lol (lame i know).

So i handed them some chocs... (almost every1s diabetic at ours anyway).

I hid at home, switched alot of the lights off and didnt answer the door when they came aknocking.
And no EGGS! 😃 .
Made it thru one holiday without any mishaps... well almost. I somehow managed to slightly burn my hoodie :oops:
