Girl Talk!
This is a girly thread for girly talk...if ur a girly boy then u may post here.
Someone mentioned to me that jeans are "haraam" cos it is copying Kufaar and also cos boys wear jeans and girls are not supposed to dress like boys
But jeans are unisex-arent they?
Like socks, girls AND boys wear them
Another Q how much would u pay for the shoes below? Would u pay more then ยฃ30?

sorry to be a wet blanket, but please bear with me girls... ๐
i cant imagine wearing a sari with a headscarf. the whole point of its elegance is the way it falls over ones body - its meant to outline ones figure. even if the blouse is long, saris are not saris if they aren't wrapped around properly.
so i dont see how one can wear hijab and a 'loose' sari?? :|
Girl Talk!
*DUST* โ Wed, 28 Dec 2005 - 22:10
yeh well proper indian saris have blouses cut short to reveal the waist, muslims can have long-sleeved long blouses which dont show any skin though. BUT my point was, the sari is wrapped in such a way that its figure-hugging anyway... :?
edit: yuit deleted his post before my reply so i will be nice and remove his quote. ๐

salaam
no the ones u see in bollywood films are tooo revealing there are saris which cover u completely and this does depend on how u have ur pallu, which can cum around well cant xplain, as sum saris can be worn too tight around the waist.
and iam planning to wear it to a mehndi so all women gathering but good point raised i guess well have to be careful in future

it all depends on how you wrap the sari...the first few times you wrap it - it obviously needs ta be tight but with the rest of the material left over (which is a lot) you can wrap it in such a way that you cant see the shape of your body - ๐ i know because thats what my mum did on halas wedding and it looked great :!: with a hijab 2 8)

have never ever worn a sari so dont really know what you lot are talking about... :?
all i know is they reveal the figure of the body which is a no-no
Girl Talk!
muslim_kuri โ Wed, 28 Dec 2005 - 23:33
not necessarily - depends on the way its wrapped
Girl Talk!
star โ Wed, 28 Dec 2005 - 23:36
oh..ok
the ones i've seen on telly and what my cousins wear are all figure revealing...
didnt know theres different ways of wrapping them...not very familiar with saris.

*DUST* โ Wed, 28 Dec 2005 - 23:39

Girl Talk!
star โ Wed, 28 Dec 2005 - 23:45
and that is hardly the case....never have i been in a women only gathering, so and so guy has to pop his head in
even in weddings...guys tend to be everywhere when its supposed to be segregated.

Q. does blow drying damage your hair?
Girl Talk!
muslim_kuri โ Thu, 29 Dec 2005 - 00:02
yep it sure does - i used ta blow dry mine and they became really coarse and not-very-nice looking so now av stopped - i let my hair dry naturally...takes longer but it worth it if my hair aint getting damaged everytime i wash my hair!
Girl Talk!
star โ Thu, 29 Dec 2005 - 00:08
i dont blow dry either ...let it dry naturally
i really need to start looking after my hair...i've lost it...so upset

muslim_kuri โ Thu, 29 Dec 2005 - 00:10
aww sis dont worry about it - Insha'Allah health will be restored in your beautiful hair!
apparently olive/mustard oil is meant ta be good 4 hair
Girl Talk!
*DUST* โ Thu, 29 Dec 2005 - 00:12
alhumdulillah most of my mates' parties are segregated and any function my immediate family holds is segregated. other than that, ur right, i dont bother taking my 'abaya/jilbab off coz guys always break down all semblance of segregation at weddings.
