Father and son

Father
Its not time to make a change,
Just relax, take it easy.
Youre still young, thats your fault,
Theres so much you have to know.
Find a girl, settle down,
If you want you can marry.
Look at me, I am old, but Im happy.

I was once like you are now, and I know that its not easy,
To be calm when youve found something going on.
But take your time, think a lot,
Why, think of everything youve got.
For you will still be here tomorrow, but your dreams may not.

Son
How can I try to explain, when I do he turns away again.
Its always been the same, same old story.
From the moment I could talk I was ordered to listen.
Now theres a way and I know that I have to go away.
I know I have to go.

Father
Its not time to make a change,
Just sit down, take it slowly.

No Regrets

I just wanted to share some song lyrics I like.

No Regrets
by Aesop Rock

Lucy was 7 and wore a head of blue barettes
City born, into this world with no knowledge and no regrets
Had a piece of yellow chalk with which she'd draw upon the street
The many faces of the various locals that she would meet
There was joshua, age 10
Bully of the block
Who always took her milk money at the morning bus stop
There was Mrs. Crabtree, and her poodle
She always gave a wave and holler on her weekly trip down to the bingo
parlor
And she drew
Men, women, kids, sunsets, clouds
And she drew
Skyscrapers, fruit stands, cities, towns
Always said hello to passers-by
They'd ask her why she passed her time
Attachin lines to concrete
But she would only smile

Muslims Are Awesome even when just saying ‘Hi’

Assalamu-alaikum is the great greeting Muslims use whenever they meet on another. It’s a greeting that translates as ‘Peace be upon you’. Its a shortened form of the grander greeting: Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh (Peace be unto you and so may the mercy of Allah and His blessings). Aint that cool? It may also interest you to know it’s the greeting of the Angels in heaven.

The common response to a greeting of Assalamu-alaikum is Wa Alaikum as-Salam which means ‘And upon you be peace’. Which you gotta admit is better than greeting your friends with ‘Sup’… which is short for ‘wats up?’ which I believe is slang for ‘hows things?’ and then you would probably reply with 'nothing, watchn the game. Sup with u?'

How to make Popcorn?

There’s nothing like watching a movie whilst eating popcorn hmmm. But they are soooooo over priced it’s a blatant rip off!! So your home this Friday night and got nothing to do, so you’re about to pop in a movie but shock horror, there’s no popcorn. Of course you could always watch the movie without popcorn but that’s like … lame. You want something to munch. Or for those saddo’s who don’t watch movies (yes… that’s right. Im calling you a saddo… WHAT YA GOING TO DO??) but you still want a light snack that’s easy at hand and not likely to make you go fat. Presto theres popcorn. Quick, easy to make, and with the minimum cals.

Enough of the rant. Here’s how we make it:

What you’ll need?

Dried Corn (available at any decent corner shop)
    -A saucepan with a lid

"Revival Editor" on TV !

I was watching President Bush on CNN this morning issuing the red alert on U.S. economic downfall.

As I flicked the channels to 508, I could swear I saw our beloved editor on TV!!

But later I found out it was not Mr Iqbal but someone who looked just like him.

No. It turned out to be one Hans von der Brelie of Euronews.

The "Revival Editor" was interviewing Ursula Plassnik.

My Moms Spaghetti Bolognaise Recipe

What you’ll need

500g of Pasta
2 Pounds of mince lamb
Olive Oil
A small Onion
Garlic
Tined Tomato (blend it before starting)
Red Chili Powder
Garam Masala & Coriander Mix
1 Jar of Ragu Sauce (or equivalent)

The Pasta

1. Add 2 tablespoons to a saucepan of water and then add the pasta. This will prevent the pasta from sticking together.
2. Heat until the pasta becomes soft and easily broken. Don’t check this with your bare hands its still going to be piping hot. Use a spoon or a fork to check the pasta is soft.
3. Rinse thoroughly while being careful not to get hit by the steam from the boiling water. Add another tablespoon of olive oil and if you like a ¼ tablespoon of black pepper.
4. Its now ready for the sauce!
