'May' I be the second to offer my welcome. Geddit?! I know, I know, I'm gifted at comedy.

Please start posting you opinions on all sorts of topics, and don't get put-off by anyone who seems rude at first. Everyone here is as gentle as a pussycat.

Don't just do something! Stand there.

Okay, aside from the corny jokes, thank you both for the welcome Wink

Rough figour? I'm anything between Ten and Twenty Wink
I'm a student and mixed media artist, currently studying for my Alevels (which pretty much gives the age away :D)
Anything interesting? I was born into an Eco warrior family, were Muslim Hippies and also part time Nomads, currently living in Africa/UK Blum 3

Mez, I did a google search and The Revival popped up, I've actually read a couple of issues but its not exactly easy trying to find them, and nomadic ways prevent me from getting monthly issues 'hmmm'

Salaam,

You'll be seeing me posting a lot from now on so i thought i should formally introduce myself. I got a copy of the revival magazine by my friend and I really like the topics you cover; what i like most is that they are not judgemental full of fatwas but rather they offer explanations regarding hadiths etc.

My name is Saniyah, I am 20 yrs old, soon to be 21, living in both london and nottingham. I really want to get into Islam and become a "practising" muslim but what I find distracts me is my company which is why I aim to get involved into islamic circles and activities so that it is easier for me to stay on the right path.

Anything else you want to know then just ask

Biggrin

Welcome all.

Gentleness and kindness were never a part of anything except that it made it beautiful, and harshness was never a part of anything except that it made it ugly.

Through cheating, stealing, and lying, one may get required results but finally one becomes

How do you live in London AND Nottingham at the same time? I'm guessing you mean you're either from Nottingham but in Uni in London, or the other way round.

Oh, and welcome, btw!

shottingham eh?(thats what my mates who go uni there call it)

Those who danced were thought to be quite insane, by those who couldn't hear the music...

My mum has moved back to Nottingham to stay with my nan and my dad continues to live in London in the house i've grown up in, I spend mon-fri at london and friday evening i go over to nottingham and stay there till sun. I was at a university in London but I didnt start my final year this september just in case I move to nottingham permanently.

It means brilliance... but i'm yet to live up to my name

It is ok to use my real name on these forums isnt it? I know its a Muslim forum and I would understand if you wanted to keep some level of anonymity so if real names and photos are not allowed then just let me know (not that I would ever put my pic up, but because I've got a gorgeous pic of my baby niece i'd love to show off). I've noticed most members have nicknames, is that by choice?

Well, pretty much everyone knows who Yaqub, Seraph, MuslimSister and Noor are they write (or used to write) for the magazine.

Chin up, mate! Life's too short.
