Hitched

Seraphim โ€”

Basic principles, no matter who, no matter where, anyone has a chance to sweep anyone off their feet. They just need the right broom ๐Ÿ˜‰

A couple of years ago my older brother got hitched, and I can say without a shred of pride that it was mostly down to my mad skills. And there were a few lessons learnt which i think would be best shared.

I will mostly be speaking from personal experience and I appreciate not everyone will be able to approach this situation in the same manner. But in the battle between the mountain and the ocean. The Ocean shall always rise victorious.

Firstly everything has to be done with the greatest care, in order to avoid offending anyone or hurting their feelings. Further to this there is what i call 'The Protocol'. The Protocol is basically a set procedure for people to follow which will help prevent any problems.

One of the major problems with this whole situation is that theres the possiblity that someones going to get rejected and hurt. A proposal arrives, you guys meet, talk etc, then the proposal gets rejected for something stupid (i.e. he's a jobless nitwit, shes not religious enough or is too religious). The end result someones left feeling like crap.

PHASE 1: Protocol asks for there to be a 'mutual' exchange of not only information but of photographs (yes cringe i know, but get over it). Some of the informaiton you should be willing to provide and shouldnt be afraid to ask: name, age, occupation, height, complexion, how religious the other person is etc. Does the guy expect the girl to move in with him and his parents or will you guys move out? Are you flexible on this?? Photographs: the prophet encouraged you to see the persone before you married them. Its a good idea to get a photograph and send one too. That way you can tell if theres any initial chemistry. Remember you need to be open and honest at all times here. You DONT want to lie or exaggerate coz you will get caught out later down the line.

PHASE 2: Send your parents in to visit the other person. This will HELP loooooads. What you dont want, is for you two to meet, like each other and then your parents turn around and say no for some reason. Then you're left feeling the fool. Get them to go first (expect resistance). ONCE they're happy for it to proceed THEN you should go to meet them.

PHASE 3: Meeting the other person...

then i read something abt relevant knowledge bringing that gndrlgsrg file around... "ah, silly people downloading relevant knowledge!"

reads something about random surveys popping up from no where.

*not quite sinking feeling..more like a "oh please no" kinda feeling..i  guess that IS a kind of sinking feeling*

*DIES INSIDE*

*sees little relevant knowledge icon in my taskbar..near my ANTIVIRUS!*

*kflgndfl;kngaklgd*

Leader of Bangladeshi Ulama passes away at 93

CA TEAM โ€”

ุฅู†ุง ู„ู„ู‡ ูˆุฅู†ุง ุงู„ูŠู‡ ุฑุงุฌุนูˆู†

It is with great sadness that we inform you that one of our elders and Shouyoukh has passed into the mercy of Allah.

Shaikh al-Allama Azeez al-Haq (RA) was born in the year 1919 and passed away at 1PM on the 8th of August 2012 at the grand age of 93 after a lifetime of studying, teaching and serving the deen.  He was arguably the most famous of the modern-day Ulama especially for his services to Islam in Bangladesh including the translation of Sahih al-Bukhari into Bengali which remains the only translation of the text. He was also the founder of Jamiah Rahmaniyah Dhaka through which thousands of students graduated.

His Janazah was held today at 11:00AM at the National Eidgah and more than 300,000 people attended.

To my knowledge he was the last scholar alive to have studied with Shaikh al-Allama Shabbir Ahmed al-Uthmani (RA) who died over 60 years ago in 1949 and even after studying with him he continued to study with Shaikh al-Faqih Zafar Ahmed al-Uthmani (RA) and Shaikh al-Mufassir Mohammed Idris Kandhalawi (RA)

With his (RA) passing another bright star of the Islamic world fades.

Our Beloved (salahu alayhi wasalam) said in a Hadith that is agreed upon:

โ€œIndeed, Allah does not take away knowledge by snatching it from the people but He takes away knowledge by taking away the scholars, until there remains no scholar and the people take the ignorant as their leaders. Then they are asked and give religious judgments without knowledge, they go astray and cause other to go astray.โ€

Camps, hair styles and flip flops

s.b.f โ€”

Most people know a guy who is 'camp' but not gay.

Now, I have two close mates who fall underneath this category.

They are also the type of people who will leave a lecture or party or dinner to go pray and then come back to whatever they are doing i.e. more committed than the rest of us when it comes to their religious duties.

But when I say 'camp', I mean the extra extra care in clothes style, the hand movements, the hair styles....one of them actually looks at fashion magazines.

Now, recently Iv realised although neither know each other. They both have started to want to change their personalities so people don't think they're gay. One of them has gone and chopped his hair off and doesnt smile anymore. And the other has changed his fashion wardrobe and just seems to be a lot nastier to people even his close mates who have always defended and looked out for him.

What is the best advice for these people?

is my zakat being used in the right way?

Hamza13 โ€”

im rather upset and concerned.

one Indian was asking for zakat in my local mosjid. he said it was to help old widows, to help they're daughters to get married.

im confused. India is fast becoming a super power. dr Zakir Naik has said India will become a super power soon. they manufacture cars, they have bolywood they even have a space program.

http://www.businessweek.com/news/2012-08-08/india-s-82-million-mission-to-mars-orbit-planned-for-2013

it seems to me its a matter of wealth distribution why they have poverty. in fact i would even argue that this situation is kept to keep recieving charity from the uk goverment.

 http://www.guardian.co.uk/global-development/2011/feb/14/government-defends-1bn-aid-india

in short, surelly there are starving children in Africa or Syria who need it more.

i saw a program on youtube about drugs on the Gaza strip and saw i guy who would ask help from the mosjid's and then would buy pills as he was addicted.

i am really concerned about Zakat being used wrong. please share your opinion on this issue.

i give my zakat to a small mosjid a bit further away from me where i know the money goes to the rent of the mosjid as i am close to the imam.

are we being taken for a ride?

i also heard of muslim organisations lying to kuffar asking for charity for starving children and then using it on terrorist organizations under the concept of

Taqiyya.

dont these people know Allah is watching. or are the managers of the mosjids not able to tell right zakat from wrong?
