Time for an uncoordinated brain fart. let's see where this goes. I am not even sure the title is right, but then again, having failure in there may become accurate...
Here goes the conundrum: People like success. People are human. Humans are prone to failure.
Pretty simple really. Added complications to that are that while there is a chance that success may breed happiness, failure on the other hand will almost definitely breed misery.
None of the above really matters. Onto engineering for failure.
When engineers work on something, they spend a large amount of time on structures and the majority of that again may be for things that are not used as they will be there to cover the possibilities leading to failure.
Salaam
I'm in uni today deleting old files and backing up what's important and I've come across something I wrote a couple of months back.
Remember that story about a rich sheikh torturing some dude who crossed him in business? When I read about it I felt sick and so that day I started to write a story...it was an interesting story and one that didn't get finished. But the prose was smooth and for that reason I didn't want to delete it. So here it is, me getting annoyed with injustice and subsequently getting creative:
When you read the above, what does it make you think about?
If someone said it to you, how would you feel?
But how much of our 'self', is actually ours?
How many hours of the day are you the 'self' which pleases your boss, colleagues or classmates?
What about our friends?
Do you always feel you can say what you really think to your parents?
How often can you just sit back and 'be yourself'?
In recent weeks several anti-Muslim racist groups have reared their heads. Most of them seem to be football hooligans taking a break from beating each other up every other weekend.
In between bouts of organised violence they have "demonstrated", in multiethnic communities, against "Muslim extremists", mosques and, I guess, "Pakis".
Anti-racist groups have held counter-demonstrations and these have been attended by large groups of young Muslim lads. Unsurprisingly, these confrontations have ended violently and with people getting arrested.
However, there is a simpler way to deal with these racist thugs. Aside from taking the bait and locking horns with them on the streets we can try to win over their "hearts and minds".
