What can the Con Dem alliance do for you?

Well, ladies and Gentlemen, we are ina new era. One where we have a coalition government. and the sky is faaling. Faaaalling.

But thinking back a bit, I remember thinking that the outcome of the elections would not be all that bad no matter who won.

So lets see what the Con Dem alliance can do for us, the citizens.

  1. Repeal plans for compulsory ID cards.
  2. Repeal the Digital Economy Bill.
  3. During the process of neutering the BBC and Ofcom that the conservatives probably promised to Monseur Murdoch, it could turn it into a fighting force - a fighting force that requires less of a tv licence fee.

Mum & Muslim e-mag

Alhamdulillah the second issue of Mum & Muslim is out now. There are quite a lot of articles on issues related to pregnancy, birth, children, parenting, education, creativity. The e-mag also does reviews of books, products and venues. There is also a forum which is very young indeed. Do have a look insha-Allah and let us know your opinion. We need writers insha-Allah.

The Tories are not evil

Well, they might be, who knows.

But one thing I did spot that could be good for Muslims (along with the idea that family is important, which I also agree with) was their pledge on schools.

People in a community can get together and get the government to pay for the formation of new schools.

now, this can be a good thing for Muslims whereif they feel existing schools are not catering to their needs, they can get together in areas with a significant Muslim population and get the government to make new schools that are more suited to their needs.

(I doubt they realised that Muslims could take advantage of this too)

The Monster in the Mirror

Saw a monster in the mirror when I woke up today
A monster in my mirror but I did not run away
I did not shed a tear or hide beneath my bed
Though the monster looked at me and this is what he said:

He said "Wubba wubba wubba wubba woo woo woo"
Wubba wubba wubba and a doodly do
He sang "Wubba wubba wubba" so I sang it too
Do not wubba me or I will wubba you
Do not wubba me or I will wubba you

Told the monster in the mirror, "No, I am not scared"
Then I smiled at him and thanked him for the song that we had shared
Well, the monster thanked me too, he smiled right back and then
The monster in the mirror sang his song again

He said "Wubba wubba wubba wubba woo woo woo"
Wubba wubba wubba and a doodly do
He went "Wubba wubba wubba" so I sang along

Dangerous Allies

i wrote this poem quite a while ago..(maybe more than a year, can't remember clearly) so even i dont understand some of the things i wrote, it was an english homework, an "extended metaphor", and I know it needs redrafting but I can't find those feelings anymore so I'm just going to post it raw, feel free to comment.

Dangerous Allies

I've been shot
------------------and it's dark outside
the pain is throb-throb-throbbing
streetlights too far apart
clar—ity
through the swallowing darkness

what's that?
Everything's blurred, mixed-up feelings
Pain, Night
Hallucinations, Shadows
Broken dreams, Suffocation
Scars, Loneliness
Seeing things that are not here.

This Confident Fear
the premature end is so close, so easy...
