Statement By Zaytune Institute After September 11
The Zaytuna Institute which is founded by Imam Hamza Yusuf and has followers and supporters world wide gave this message to all concerned:
Dear Zaytuna Supporters,
In response to the September 11th tragedies, we have received several e-mails, phone calls, and faxes from people all around the world. The majority of the messages are from supporters, both Muslims and people of other faiths, encouraging and showing their gratitude for the efforts of our leaders.
We understand that in this time of great confusion, many people may have questions and concerns. As the media bombards us with strong views and opinions from many directions, many are left feeling disoriented.
Open Letter To Mullah Omar
Honourable Mullah Umar,
As a Muslim I felt obligated to write to you and share with you my thoughts about the current situation in and around Afghanistan. To be honest with you, I have never supported Taleban style of implementing and preaching Islam.
But as you may agree with me that this is the beauty of our religion that an ordinary Muslim like myself and a Muslim like you who is Head of State of a Muslim country can respectfully disagree with each other.
Pakistan joins rank of poorest nations: World Bank
WASHINGTON, : The economies of Pakistan and Ukraine have declined so much during the past decade that they are now among the world's poorest nations, while China has surged out of the lowest-income category , according to the World Bank.
But Pakistan has said it has no plans to seek extraordinary debt relief under the World Bank-run Heavily Indebted Poor Countries Initiative, the Bloomberg news service said on Friday in a despatch based on the World Bank report that was released on April 10 (partly published in Dawn on April 11).
If Pakistan agrees to be declared as a poor country, it will lose access to the capital market and will become dependent on concessional loans.
World split over Dutch euthanasia move
The Netherlands' groundbreaking decision to legalise euthanasia caused ripples around the world on Wednesday as Belgium prepared to follow suit and other countries came out in outright condemnation.
After the Dutch Senate approved legislation on Tuesday making the Netherlands the first country in the world to allow mercy killings, Belgium continued preparations to move in the same direction by 2002, albeit under more restrictive conditions. A draft law is expected to pass the Senate there by July.
Russian Health Minister Yuri Shevchenko said, however, euthanasia was "a big sin that we must not allow" and would never be legalised in his country, while the Vatican newspaper L'Osservatore Romano branded the new law as "criminal."
Paper Interviews Osama Bin Laden
The Al-Qaidah group had nothing to do with the 11 September attacks on the USA, according to Usamah Bin-Ladin in an interview with the Pakistani paper Ummat.
Usamah Bin-Ladin went on to suggest that Jews or US secret services were behind the attacks, and to express gratitude and support for Pakistan, urging Pakistans people to jihad against the West. The following is the text of an interview conducted by a special correspondent, published Pakistani newspaper Ummat on 28 September, place and date of interview not given. The first paragraph is Ummats introduction.
You Have Made Me Your Human Bomb
I am the product of your tyranny.
You have dissected the leftovers of my country into bits and pieces of shantytowns, ghettoes and concentrations camps.
You have cut off my water supply and left me thirsty while you the Israelis bathe in cooled pools not far from where I live.
You have uprooted my trees and desecrated my fields making sure I have no way to sustain myself or those who depend on me.
Zionist Expansion 101
The Plan:
The creation of a Jewish State has an important prerequisite - Jews must be in the majority. This is why the "Occupied Territory" remains Occupied rather than be annexed into the state of Greater Israel.
Annexation would mean giving citizenzhip rights to Palestinians who would then form the majority - the Jewish State would then cease to exist.
The solution to the problem is to build settlements - Jewish Only, within the Occupied Territory while giving the Palestinians "autonomy" but not Statehood.
Over time - day by day, house by house, acre by acre the Israeli Government will continue to build settlements and displace the Palestinians.
Bush administration acts like Israel’s puppet
By CHARLEY REESE
My biggest disappointment in President George W. Bush has been in how he has allowed himself to be manipulated by Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon.
He has followed the same failed policy that his predecessor did.
That policy can be summed up as "the Israelis are always right, and the Palestinians are always wrong." Thats a very convenient policy for politicians who dont want the powerful Israeli lobby on their case. But if the goal is peace, the policy is a failure. If the goal is to protect Americas interests, the policy is a failure. If the goal is to bring stability to the Middle East, the policy is a failure. If the goal is to eliminate terrorism, the policy is a failure.
JOHN PILGER: THIS WAR OF LIES GOES ON
Legendary foreign correspondent argues the conflict is a sham... not one terrorist has either been caught or killed.
There is no victory in Afghanistan's tribal war, only the exchange of one group of killers for another. The difference is that President Bush calls the latest occupiers of Kabul "our friends".
However welcome the scenes of people playing music and shaving off their beards, this so-called Northern Alliance are no bringers of freedom. They are the same people welcomed by similar scenes of jubilation in 1992, who then killed an estimated 50,000 in four years of internecine feuding.

By Frida Berrigan
As the controversy rages on over how long the United Nations should continue weapons inspections in Iraq, questions are being raised about the United States own stockpile of chemical and biological weapons and new clandestine weapons programs.
