Ive been thinking... should the revival have a newsletter that we can email out to all members of the forums.
It can include articles from the magazine as well as various topics off the forums.

For all those who arent techno-savy a newsletter is a regular publication containing news and announcements on a subject which is emailed out to all subscribers. Doesnt hav 2 be daily... it could be weekely or fortnightly.

Mostly as a way to tempt old members who've disappeared into coming back maybe. Coz lets face it.... at the moment the forums are dead. Plus we can use it for people who didnt get a copy of the mag for whatever reason; instead they could sign up to the newsletter.

It doesnt really seem that difficult to set up. And it only needs a handful of people to make it work.

Wadya'think?

Good idea.

Send an empty email or one with writing?

What should be in the subject line and in the main body?...depends if its a person or a machine reading the email I guess.

You can also subscribe by going to the homepage and putting the email in the e-group box on the left (just above the magazine bar)

and then wait for like 2 years to receive a newsletter.

Hey!

I didnt say it was gonna be Instantaneous!

I was just throwing the idea out there to see what people thought first. And if enough people think its a good idea, i'll put on togeather sometime within the next 2 weeks.

So you can probably expect the first week of September. And then... well we'll see how things go.

i know.

Allah (swt) has promised a place in the MIDDLE part of Heaven for someone who never tells a lie, EVEN AS A JOKE.

but...

He (swt) has promised a place in the HIGHEST part of Heaven for someone with GOOD MANNERS.

INsha'Allah I can be one of the latter Biggrin

Does anyone want to mention anything in particular in the newsletter?

Does anyone want a shout out?

"Noor" wrote:

At the moment it isn't. For two reasons:

1. Ed wont grant access to the mailing list.

2. Im too busy to keep chasing him up.

I personally think this is a waste of resources.

An attempt to have a "The Revival Magazine Lite" which will struggle once you get through the already published articles and take time away from the main project.

But since I am not lifting a finger, I can't really complain. Not my time or resources that are being used for it (or much else).

@Noor, lets keep the discussion in here. I will delete your other post in the Issue 11 topic.
