Islam Means Peace

By World famous Boxer Muhammad Ali

Some of the biggest names in American entertainment have taken part in a two-hour televised concert to raise money for victims of last week's plane attacks in the United States.

Thousands of TV and radio stations around the world broadcasted the star-studded telethon which took place simultaneously in New York and Los Angeles.

The show, called America: A Tribute to Heroes was broadcast on more than 35 TV networks and 8,000 radio stations in the US alone, and in more than 200 countries around the globe, including on BBC1 and ITV in the UK.

The stars told poignant stories of innocent people killed and heroic acts, while former heavyweight boxing champion Muhammad Ali appealed to people not to target all Muslims in the wake of the attacks.

Muhammad Ali was introduced by Will Smith as 'a hero of America...and he is a MUSLIM'. Muhammad Ali made an emotional appeal on behalf of fellow Muslims for tolerance, at a time when there have been attacks and abuse against followers of Islam.

"I'm a Muslim. I've been a Muslim for 20 years. I want the world to know the truth about Islam," Muhammad Ali said. "I wouldn't be here to represent Islam if it were the way the terrorists make it look...Islam is for peace."

Let' hope that people in the US, UK & the rest of the world listen to the words of Muhammad Ali. The message is simple:

DON'T BLAME ISLAM OR THE MUSLIMS - BLAME THE TERRORISTS.
