1. What is the Qur’an?

The Quran is the Muslim holy book, ya’ know like the Bible is to Christianity and the Torah is to Judaism. It was revealed to Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) through the Angel Gabriel. The Quran is the record of the exact words revealed by God to the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh). Well, all your answers are right here. Khalid ibn al Walîd(R.A.) narrated the following Hadith:

A man came one day to the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and said to him,

‘Oh Messenger of Allah! I’ve come to ask you a few questions about the affairs of this Life and the Hereafter.’

It is an explanation of all things and means for men to be rightly guided. In many verses of the Qur’an, it is commanded to obey the prophet of Allah. This is quite a significant point because understanding the Qur’an fully can only be possible with following the Sunnah of the prophet.The Sunnah is the explanation of the Qur’an. It is the creed of ahl-i Sunnah, which has been constituted with collecting true hadiths of the prophet Muhammad (sallallahu `alayhi wa sallam), and interpretation of these hadiths by great scholars in later times. Question:

According to Arun Shourie there is a mathematical error in the Quran. In chapter 4 verses 11 and 12 when you add up the different parts of inheritance given to the heirs, it is more than one. Therefore the author of the Quran does not know mathematics. (more…)
