You know Allah, Yet you do not obey Him.
You recite the Qur’an, Yet you do not act according to it.
You know shaytaan, Yet you have agreed with him.
You proclaim that you love the Messenger of Allah, Yet you abandon his Sunnah.
You proclaim your love for Paradise, Yet you do not act to gain it.
You proclaim your fear for the fire, Yet you do not prevent yourself from sins.
You say, ‘Indeed death is true’, Yet you have not prepared for it.
You busy yourselves with finding faults in others, Yet you do not look at your own faults.
You eat that which Allah has provided for you, Yet you do not thank Him.
You bury your dead, but fail to take a lesson from it.

Some of the biggest misconceptions that many non-Muslims have about Islam have to do with the word “Allah”.
For various reasons, many people have come to believe that Muslims worship a different God than Christians and Jews. This is totally false, since “Allah” is simply the Arabic word for “God” – and there is only One God. (more…)

It is impossible to reach a meaningful definition of God. If we can define God we can have a complete concept of reality and then it is a valid question to ask what is beyond it, i.e. what is beyond God? (more…)

It is a known fact that every language has one or more terms that are used in reference to God and sometimes to lesser deities. This is not the case with Allah. Allah is the personal name of the One true God. Nothing else can be called Allah. (more…)

Belief in the hereafter is not based on blind faith?
Many people wonder as to how a person with a scientific and logical temperament, can lend any credence to the belief of life after death. People assume that anyone believing in the hereafter is doing so on the basis of blind belief. My belief in the hereafter is based on a logical argument. (more…)

Science must increase our faith. It is wrong for anyone to close their eyes to what is right in front of them. For a Muslim the evidence of dinosaurs and fossils is not a threat to our beliefs. Rather, it is a confirmation of the power of Allah. (more…)
Did He need to? Why did He not do so sooner rather than later?
Firstly, it should be noted that as human beings we perceive everything from a human perspective and formulate our views accordingly. To take one example, human beings act out of necessity or desire. We set out to do things because we have certain needs or are compelled. (more…)

We will answer by quoting a number of aayaat (verses) from the Book of Allaah (the Qur’aan – the scripture of Islam), then you can think to yourself about the matter and if the truth becomes clear to you, you will have no choice but to follow it. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning): (more…)

Consider this:
An archaeologist digs deep into the desert sand and finds a piece of an old clay pot. After his investigations, this archaeologist can tell us, from this little old piece of dusty clay, so much about the civilisation that existed thousands of years ago that produced it; he can tell usabout the types of ovens, temperatues, and dyes that they worked with, the raw materials that they used, and thus assess the level of their artistic skill and technological ability, etc. All this from a small piece of clay lying in the desert. Here we refer to the well known law of conservation of matter. This law states that ‘Matter cannot be created nor destroyed’.
What that means is that all that we are able to do is convert one form of substance to another. We can never create matter from nothing, and similarly we cannot turn matter into nothing. Trees are brought down to make wood and paper, sand is used in the making of glass…. (more…)
The purpose of this section is to argue how modern science testifies to the existence of a sole creator, a supreme force far superior to anything we know, a power responsible for the creation of the universe and of sustaining it. (more…)
Many of us at some point or another in our lives start to question: where did we come from? Why are we here? What happens to us after we die? Is death the grim end, or is it but a gate that leads into a different kind of existence? We often wonder how did it all come to be? (more…)
