Khilafa

What is it?

Should we be fighting to get it?

How would that work? (the getting it bit and generally - who would be leading etc)

And anything relevant and interesting about this topic.

But keep it simple and easy to understand!

No long copy and pastes - I can google and read off there too!

Thanks.

Challenges

I'm just wondering what aspects of Islam you find very hard to adapt to and implement in your life.

Yes I know it's a very open Q but please don't come out with a stupid answer :/

No, I'm not asking you to outright reveal your sins but say something like you find it hard to motivate yourself doing blah blah. I'm sure you can work around it Smile

Also if there were things you used to find hard but learnt to overcome the hurdle then share your tips!

Peoples politics.

Just wondering.

You know when someone badmouths/has an argument with/etc with their friends and family and they get involved with the argument etc?

Well Islamically what should you do in such cases?

It makes sense to just keep yourself neutral and don't get involved in other peoples' business I think, unless they really need some support and are in the right.

But when it's your family it's just different. Are you still supposed to be pleasant to them if they're pleasant to you? Or is it ok to 'stick up' for people?

(I had no idea what to title this, does it even make sense? Admin if you can think of a more suitable title feel free to change)

Facebook preaching, should I call it? (that sounds wrong :\ )

So i decide to put this as my status:

‎"O people of the Scripture! Do not exaggerate in your religion, nor utter anything concerning God save the truth. The Messiah, Jesus son of Mary, was only a messenger of God, and His word which He conveyed unto Mary, and a spirit from Him. So believe in God and His messengers, and do not say 'Three'. Desist, it will be better for you. God is only One God. The Messiah would never have scorned to be a slave of God." Surah al-Nisa, 171-2

And next thing I know, my Christian friend changes her status to:

‎"For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace." (Isa 9:6)

1432 is here!

So another year's gone.

How much have you achieved this past year?

What's changed?

What have you learnt?

Have you got any new years resolutions?

They're just some questions you might want to reflect on Smile

So Muharram...

"Boys have no respect for girls"

Do you agree with the statement that "boys don't respect girls unless they know them/have some sort of connection"

But my friends said that ^ today. I've never really thought about it and i don't know any teenage boys that well. It seems like a huge generalisation but if that's true it's a horrible thought.

And why don't they? :/

Do you call it life...or just a bunch of lessons? :/

Every situation is a lesson to be learned. From mundane chores to complex projects, life is always ready to teach you something. The lessons are usually not all that obvious. Yet they are there if you will think to take a look. The lessons are there in every moment, in every dilemma, in every frustration and every joy. They are there in every sadness, every victory, every discomfort and every pleasure. Each lesson you learn paves the way for a new and even more valuable one. Each lesson you ignore keeps coming back, again and again

What's the point of all these lessons?

Do we get to actually "Live"? (guess it depends on what you mean by living, eh?)
