The Revival mag - Your ideas

Salaam

I'm sure most of you have read previous magazines of the revival

so:

do you think there is a need for a muslim youth magazine?

who do you think the revival caters for?

what is good about the revival?

what do you not like about the revival?

how can the revival be improved?

do you read the revival on line or hard copy?

is it easy to get hold of?

how would you compare the revival to other muslim mags?

is ali n jamal 'spot on' or outdated?

Does the website live up to the image of the mag?

Do you think you can contribute to the revival and be a part of the team?

ARE MOSQUES CATERING FOR OUR NEEDS?

SALAAM

Yep, my favourite topic.....

but cos its serious issue i dont mind mentioning it again...and again....

so what do you think role of mosque is?
role of imam? role of committe/administration of mosque?
is mosque just for 'education and worship' or is it there to cater for the NEEDSof the muslim community?

is YOUR mosque catering for needs of the muslim community?
if not why not?

your imam catering for the community?
is committe in touch or backward?

what more do you want from your mosque/imam?

which mosques/imams that YOU know of that are a role model to other mosques/imams?

what facilities does YOUR mosque cater for women? what facilities should it cater for?

Game delayed over Koran phrases

Sony has postponed the global release of a much-anticipated video game due to concerns that it may offend Muslims.

Copies of LittleBigPlanet are being recalled from shops worldwide after it emerged that a background music track contained two phrases from the Koran.

Sony issued an apology for any offence that its use of the backing track might have caused.

The changed version of LittleBigPlanet will now go on sale on 3 November in the UK and 29 October in the US.

Woman to lead UK Muslim prayers

Woman to lead UK Muslim prayers

Muslim scholar Professor Amina Wadud is to give the sermon - or khutbah - at the start of a conference on Islam and feminism at Wolfson College in Oxford.

The move has provoked opposition as the tradition is that imams - always men - hold mixed services. Some believe it is against Islam for a woman to do so.

But organisers heralded it as a "leap forward" for "theological destiny".

Chairman of the Muslim Educational Centre Oxford (MECO) Dr Taj Hargey, who is organising Friday's conference, argued that the prayer service would be a step in the right direction.

"We believe Islam is a gender-equal religion," he said.
