Yes, I know

"Purity is half of faith.......Prayer is the light...patience is illumination; and the Quran is an argument for or against you. Everyone starts his day and is a vendor of his soul, either freeing it or bringing about its ruin." Muslim

This is awful.

My mum works near Kings Cross.

She stars at 10am, so was still at Hammersmith when the attacks took place.

I panicked when I heard about the blasts.

She is ok, but 100's others are not.

God damn the devils responsible for this.

Now Muslims face the backlash.

God bless London, the greatest city in all UK.

8…Of the people there are some who say: "We believe in Allah and the Last Day;" but they do not (really) believe. 9. Fain would they deceive Allah and those who believe, but they only deceive themselves, and realise (it) not!
10. In their hearts is a disease; and Allah has increased their disease: And grievous is the penalty they (incur), because they are false (to themselves).
11. When it is said to them: "Make not mischief on the earth," they say: "Why, we only Want to make peace!"
12. Of a surety, they are the ones who make mischief, but they realise (it) not.
13. When it is said to them: "Believe as the others believe:" They say: "Shall we believe as the fools believe?" Nay, of a surety they are the fools, but they do not know.
14. When they meet those who believe, they say: We believe;" BUT WHEN THEY ARE ALONE WITH THEIR EVIL ONES THEY SAY "We are really with you: We (were) only jesting."
15. Allah will throw back their mockery on them, and give them rope in their trespasses; so they will wander like blind ones (To and fro).
16. These are they who have bartered Guidance for error: But their traffic is profitless, and they have lost true direction,

Muslims Brace themselves for rise in Islamaphobia

London ’s Muslims are shocked as our city has been the victim of what appears to be a co-ordinated terrorist attack.

Home to an estimated 1 million Muslims any disruption of logistical, economic and human activity affects all the communities in London including the Muslim community.

All indications appear to point to what seems to be a terrorist attack, MPACUK expresses deepest sympathy with all the families of those affected and commends the emergency services for their fast response to the attacks.

The perpetrators of this horrific crime need to be caught and brought to justice, but no matter who is responsible for this attack British Muslims and MPACUK do not have any sympathy for those who continue to use violent methods to raise very important issues.

MPACUK urges all mosques around the country to be aware of a sharp rise in Islamophobia following the attack. London Mosques should immediately inform their congregations to take due care and to give blood at the earliest possible opportunity.

Mosque media teams around the country need to start brainstorming ideas to counter a rise in Islamophobia, and Mosque leaders should start condemning the attacks and calling for a rethink in the root cause of these horrific incidents that affect our country.

The British government and present politicians seriously need to consider how the effects of their dangerous foreign policy are putting at risk lives of innocent Britons at home. British citizens have been at the forefront of raising these issues with the current government and we hope the government keeps these in mind as we all go through what will be a very difficult time for our country.

At the time of posting the above article is not on the MPAC homepage. Maybe they're trying to sort their technical stuff.

PLEASE DO NOT BRACE YOURSELVES FOR ISLAMPOPHOBIA! SURE, IT EXISTS, AND I'M SURE YOU'LL ADDRESS IT WHEN YOU SEE IT, AND STAY SAFE, BUT THAT SUGGESTION IS A HIGHLY NEFARIOUS TACTIC FOR RALLYING MUSLIMS AGAINST THE TARGETS OF THIS 'JIHAD'. THE PUBLIC IS PRESENTLY PISSED OFF ABOUT BOMBS. YOU DON'T WANT TO BE CALLING THEM ISLAMOPHOBIC OR EVEN PRETTY SELFISHLY GOING THERE RIGHT NOW. IT IS A CRAP REACTION. DO NOT GET DIVERTED INTO GIVING THE GENERAL PUBLIC HEARTACHE OVER THIS. PLEASE.

So far 33 comfimed dead.

The devil is active today.

But wouldnt you say that such a reaction is inevitable? Everyone wants to know "who dunnit?". It never takes long for the finger pointing to start.

Enough people have mentioned it to me today....

Muslim's who have been hurt or have had family members hurt/killed in the blast will also be p***ed off about the blast.

They also don't want to be accused of being responsible or suffering from a backlash as a result.

This would also be very selfish and inconsiderate.

At least 45 people are reported to have been killed and 1,000 injured in a series of terror attacks on London. Sky News crime correspondent Martin Brunt said the figures, which could rise, were from a reliable, but unofficial source.

Its so shocking.

Most Londoners will know someone who travels to the centre each day.

This happened at the height of the rush hour.

I pray for the innocents.

Muslim Sister,

Yes. It will probably turn out as in Madrid and NY that some Muslim jihadi terrorists did it, claiming they will hereby unite all Muslims. And you're in danger of falling for it. When the facts unravel accept what they are and speak clearly. Speak against the terrorists. Can you see it is innappropriate when a jihadi bomb goes off, to speak of Islamophobia. By all means stay safe. But don't borrow bin Laden's enemies for your own. Most of them are not Islamophobic.

100man

I suppose your right.

By the way are you from London? From what I've seen/heard there are NO buses, on the road at all....

Have ALL the buses stopped operating?

The whole city shut down.

I tried to catch the bus to Ealing, but nothing was running.

My mum is gonna have to walk back home from Kings Cross.

Busses and underground shutdown.

Londoners are told not to travel unless they really need to.

Wow. I practically live on buses and trains.

London will now seems very weird...... London is ALWAYS full of buses.

You know full well that this is the work of islamic terrorists.

Not all muslims are terrorists but it it certain that almost ALL terrorists are muslims.

The title of this thread is insulting.

At least 40 people are dead.

"reality" wrote:

Without getting into a big debate over this, almost ALL terriorists are not Muslims. If you do want a debate start a new thread.

Terrorists come in all shapes and sizes, and all colours and creeds. It's just that at this particular time the focus is on Muslim terrorists because they are the ones who are most active in the West at the moment.

Manchester and London. I've just moved a bit further up Edgware Road now, but I spend time in all the other areas concerned as it happens, and I've been ringing round and taking calls from family and friends. Didn't help my phone was off this morning. btw I totally take your point, that you're both a proud Muslim and as much a Londoner as anyone in London - that's exactly the point. That distinguishes you very sharply from those who are 'Muslim first' but disrespect diversity, and explaining instantly makes you not a target of this would-be-Islamophobia, because people appreciate, that terrorists can only claim falsely to represent Muslims, since many Muslims condemn the terrorists. If you muddy the distinction between condemnation of terror attacks and intolerance of Islam, you muddy the ditinction between terror and Islam. Logically. A true humanitarian will be all wound up. If you really accept that, there is the added responsibility you may be taking on, of sifting through the politics among Muslims to sort the villainous from the pious. When non-Muslims try to grapple with this, they are faced with the deep frustration of not wanting to cause offense and disruption to the majority, but lacking a deeper cultural understanding are bound to talk from the view of secularisms and liberalisms that are off the point and inadvertantly imposing; yet bound to hound out security threats, so urgently imposing. Like stop-and-search, which may be a really blunt and dehumanising tactic but equally can be viewed as totally practical, and which also reflects how random our understanding is. I guess what I'm saying is Muslims might like to stop worrying about the racists and prepare to shout down the terrorists. Messages here are mostly unequivocal and I respect that.

Really? I wasn't aware the IRA were Muslims, I thought they were Irish Catholics (that's Catholic as in CHRISTIAN). But anyway, yes that's a topic for another thread!

This was not a terrorist attack against the mighty and the powerful. It was not aimed at presidents or prime ministers. It was aimed at ordinary working class Londoners, black and white, Muslim and Christian, Hindu and Jew, young and old. Indiscriminate attempt to slaughter irrespective of any considerations for age, for caste, for religion, whatever.

I see where you're coming from. Basically your saying that one shouldnt jump the gun? And should speak out against the attackers?

But wouldnt you say that its OK to be mentally prepared though? Just in case it happens....

Cos it has happened after 9/11

Were you anywhere near Edgware today? I pray that you, your family and friends are well.

Cue conspiracy theories...

Salaam

The two most badly hit areas in London was Edgware Road and Aldgate East.

Edgware Road is known as "Little Arabia". Where in the words of my sister all the "good for nothing sheesha smoking Arab's live"

Algate East and the surrounding areas of Brick Lane and Whitechapel is often referred to as "Bangla Town".

They're both areas with 90% Muslim population.

IF the attack was carried out by the "Islamic fundamentalists", as the news channels keep saying- wouldnt they have enough sense to try to avoid the Muslims?

Unless of course in such a pre planned attack which took place in a peak hour they (whoever they may be) overlooked the importance of finding out who exactly would be targetted in the attack.....

These people do not care who they kill. As long as they kill and kill many.

As the mayor said this was indicriminate slaughter.

In 9/11 Muslims died. In Madrid Muslims died. In Istanbul Muslims died.

These extremists are serious wackjobs. They find justifications to kill anyone, and anyhow.

They are as much a danger to Muslims as they are to anyone else.

Muslim Sister,

Thank you ver much for your wishes. I've had no bad news from friends and family.

I'm sure you're intuitive enough to know the difference between a calm discussion and the inklings of an organised movement. Of course there's Islamophobia. Of course know that as a young woman, maybe as a young Muslim woman, you may be vulnerable, so be secure, and talk about it with Muslims. Just be conscious Islamophobia is sometimes one of a wealth of arguments designed to weaken resistance to the idea of an oppressed Ummah rising up against Crusader forces, and one that comes to imply this particular jihadi cause is pursued in the way of Islam. That clearly marks out any Muslim subscribing to that ideology, whereby the Muslim hero, the martyr in Islam, purposely commits suicide and mass murder. There is a much stronger type of hero, a much stronger type of martyr, creating a fututre borne of values, intuition, inspiration and truth and unwilling to yield to violence and pride, and those are the type of Muslims I see here. It is unfortunate that the politics involves Islam, but overcoming the obstacle of tribal or elitist violence will no doubt be the start of a genuine revival. Beee If I'm rattling do tell me...

omg, that is shockin, my condolences to those family members who have had loss of their family member/friends, this is just so saddening!

Assallamu Allaikum

The following is a press release condeming the terrorist attacks in London today. This statement will also be sent to mainstream newspapers in the UK.

THE REVIVAL PRESS RELEASE:

The Revival totally condemns the terrorist attacks targeting innocent civilians in London. These are the acts of evil, sick, pathetic cowards. This was a terrorist attack aimed at ordinary working class Londoners, black and white, Muslim and Christian, Hindu and Jew, young and old.

Our sympathies and our prayers are with the victims, their families and friends.

The perpetrators of this horrific crime need to be caught and brought to justice. We must and will be united in common determination that terror cannot succeed. It is now the duty of all us Britons to be vigilant and actively support efforts to bring those responsible to justice.

All Muslims and non-Muslims alike are urged to donate blood as soon as possible. Hundreds of our fellow Britons are lying injured and trapped underground in London. The Blood Transfusion Service will be running short of blood and we must all find time to visit our local hospital and make a donation of blood.

Just like the rest of the British Muslims we on behalf of The Revival are sad, shocked and angry about these terrorist attacks. If the perpetrators are indeed Muslims or represent an Islamic organisation then they certainly do not represent the British Muslims as well as the overwhelming majority of the Muslims across the world. This act of terrorism is totally and utterly against the basic teachings of Islam. The religion of Islam promotes peace and teaches against violence and murder. I was encouraged to hear DAC Brian Paddick on Metropolitan Police at the Press conference state that 'Islam and terrorism are two different and opposite things. Islam is a peaceful faith and has nothing to do with terrorism. Muslims who are terrorists have nothing to do with Islam.'

The Revival urges all Muslims, mosques, groups and organisations to openly condemn these terrorist attacks. All Imams should condemn these blasts in the Friday sermons and advice Muslims to do whatever they can to help their fellow Britons and bring these cowards to justice. It should be made clear that British Muslims are law abiding, peaceful, good and decent people who are as shocked and horrified as anyone else in Britain regarding these terrible attacks.

Britain is home to almost 2 million Muslims with an estimated 1 million living in London. London is a great multicultural city which all Muslims are proud of. Britain is our home too and we will not let the terrorists destroy our country.

That is a great mission statement and response to the attack.

Thats a top statement by The Revival.

And 100man this is a fantastice quote

"There is a much stronger type of hero, a much stronger type of martyr, creating a fututre borne of values, intuition, inspiration and truth and unwilling to yield to violence and pride".
