no happy holday wishes for me spotty!!!

whilst the holidays can be fun - i enjoy it too.......

we shouldnt celebrate xmas, nor hav trees.

why should we?

we have our own festivals

ok no harm in sendin cards to colleagues and friends - its bieng polite after all

and if you get an invite, and its a safe environment - go

but goin outta your way for a festival in aonther religion seems a lil absurd :?

The Lover is ever drunk with love;
He is free, he is mad,
He dances with ecstasy and delight.

Caught by our own thoughts,
We worry about every little thing,
But once we get drunk on that love,
Whatever will be, will be.

LOL

u guys really sang that song in school

thats a pop song

along with Mariah Carey's "All I want for xmas is You"

My brothers and one of their italian mates actually used to go Carol singing in the rich posh area when they were 14-15 yesrs old. They used to come back with a fiver each, they didn't even sing carol, just stupid pop songs, don't know how the got away with it.

Last Christmas, I gave you my heart
But the very next day, You gave it away
This year, to save me from tears
I'll give it to someone special

Last Christmas, I gave you my heart
But the very next day, You gave it away
This year, to save me from tears
I'll give it to someone special

Once bitten and twice shy
I keep my distance but you still catch my eye
Tell me baby do you recognise me?
Well it's been a year, it doesn't surprise me

(Happy Christmas!) I wrapped it up and sent it
With a note saying "I Love You" I meant it
Now I know what a fool I've been
But if you kissed me now I know you'd fool me again

Last Christmas, I gave you my heart
But the very next day, You gave it away
This year, to save me from tears
I'll give it to someone special

(Oooh. Oooh Baby)

A crowded room, friends with tired eyes
I'm hiding from you and your soul of ice
My God I thought you were someone to rely on
Me? I guess I was a shoulder to cry on
A face on a lover with a fire in his heart
A man undercover but you tore me apart
Oooh Oooh
Now I've found a real love you'll never fool me again

Last Christmas, I gave you my heart
But the very next day, You gave it away
This year, to save me from tears
I'll give it to someone special

A face on a lover with a fire in his heart
(Gave you my heart)
A man undercover but you tore me apart
Next year
I'll give it to someone, I'll give it to someone special
special
someone
someone
I'll give it to someone, I'll give it to someone special
who'll give me something in return
I'll give it to someone
hold my heart and watch it burn
I'll give it to someone, I'll give it to someone special
I've got you here to stay
I can love you for a day
I thought you were someone special
gave you my heart
I'll give it to someone, I'll give it to someone
last christmas I gave you my heart
you gave it away
I'll give it to someone, I'll give it to someone

aaawww

isnt that nice.... people getting into the festive spirit....

See pp.... nothing wrong with a lil festive cheer... silly scrooge admin... trying to steal christmas away from all these little children.

Personally ive always liked "Rocking around the Christmas Tree"

"Rocking around the Christmas tree
Have a happy holiday
You will get a sentimental feeling When you hear voices singing
"Let's be jolly; Deck the halls with boughs of holly" Rocking around the Christmas Tree
Have a happy holiday
Everyone's dancing merrily
In a new old fashioned way..."

wots with all the editing?

call me a spoil sport but i've never felt the need to celebrate xmas. it has no religious significance to me, so whats the point (yes omrow, i have read wot u have to say about that!). obviously i'd wish all my christian mates a merry xmas, as its important to them, but i'd feel fake to be celebrating with them.

My brain is fried and I misunderstood something. I have to do a 10 page presentation on the role of stereotypes in character development in Fairy tales - completely in German.

Because God hates me or something really big and cosmic like that, because this sort of torture cannot be drawn up in the human mind.

Yea I actually get a little annoyed when I see non-Christians celebrating Christmas. The pagan rituals that have become associated with Christmas have only been allowed to stand because they have "Christianized" and taken on new Christian meanings associated with the day - it's called syncretic religion and it happens with all religion everywhere when a new religion is introduced into a culture. However when non-Christians exploit the pagan origins of many of these rituals as an excuse to celebrate without affirming a faith in Christ, they are in essence trying to tear this sycretism apart and thus are attacking the integrity feast day itself, or at least trying to wrestle it from the hands of Christians. The fact of the matter is they have no business celebrating it, and no business meddling in Christian affairs.

It's a Christian holiday.

This whole idea of "the Christmas season" and "the holiday season" really bugs me.
