actualy
flat shoes are not good for your feet
because of the way they're designed

face it

women's shoes are made uncomfortable!
the ones that ARE comfortable are the types old women would wear

so it's a no win situation

If flats are worn over a long period of time you can get this condition known as flat feet. Thats when the feet lose their natural arch shape and the ankles droop to the point where they are almost touching the ground. It can be very painful. David Beckham has got flat feet. However wearing heels over a long period of time can cause bunions. This is where the big toes starts to angle towards the second toe. Victoria Beckham has bunions.

Me personally i only wear heels coz the BHGs (big horrible giants) are always trampling on me :x . Heels add height which in turn makes me more noticeable to the BHG’s and less likely to be trampled on by them. Also my bottoms are always long for me which means they dragged on the floor, get all dirty and ripped if i wear flats.

This conversation is SOO different from the high-heels topic in the Brother's only forum...

Don't just do something! Stand there.

U have a high heels topic in the brothers section? LOL

when i first looked at this thread i was like LMAO sumaiyahh haha. bless her!
but actually it really has got sum good conversation going!

I say that u shud keep a balance between flats and heels. and u dont nessecarily have to wear stilletos which are 5inch high, u can get the thicker heels which are 1-2inch high. ok fair enuf they dont look as good but id rather walk in them as theyre more comfy + dont make noise Smile lol.

Did you know that killer heels could harm your body.

High heels can cause serious ankle injuries
Women are paying the price for fashion in the form of broken bones and sprained ankles, a doctor has warned.
The warm weather has led to a spate of injuries caused by women falling from their high-heeled sandals.

Rupert Evans, an accident and emergency doctor at University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff said injuries could lead to long-term problems.

Women should stick to shoes with heels less than 4cm (1.5in) if they wanted to avoid a trip to hospital, he advised.

Dr Evans said he has seen an increase in the number of women being admitted to hospital with injuries caused by the fashionable footwear.

Alcohol and heels are a bad mix

Martin Shalley, British Association for Emergency Medicine

Injuries ranged from sprained ankles to broken bones and dislocations - and in some cases caused permanent damage.

He estimated that up to half a dozen women were now being admitted to his department with shoe-related injuries on weekend evenings.

Drinking alcohol added to the problem, he said.

"I suspect it's something to do with the weather we've been having.

"Women are dressing differently and a lot of them are coming in with high-heel shoe injuries."

Sensible shoes

He added that shoes which did not have a back or a strap could cause particular problems.

"Try to have shoes with a strap and keep the heel height down to 4cm (1.5in)," he said.

He said he was not advising that women should stop wearing high heels altogether, but advocating wearing them in moderation.

"There can be serious consequences, but we are not trying to ban them," he said.

Martin Shalley, president of the British Association for Emergency Medicine said he had not spotted a recent increase, but he reiterated that high heels could definitely lead to serious injuries.

"That is something we see and I have seen a few breaks over the years. Falling off a high heel can cause much more serious injuries."

He added that Dr Evans' advice was very reasonable.

"Of course it could be a problem associated with alcohol. Alcohol and heels are a bad mix," he said.

Victoria Beckham claims that she cannot wear flats because she cannot concentrate, and thats why she is always pictured wearing heels.

Wouldnt wearing heels also depend on the individuals intention on why they are wearing them. For example if a girl wears it to attract the attention of a guy then sure it will be haraam, but if she wears them just for the sake of it then theres nowt wrong with that, right???
And if it did cause a guy to stop and stare at the girl, then if the girl took notice of that then they are wearing heels for the wrong reasons, but if she kept on walking and ignored the prying eyes then heels cant really be classed as not acceptable.

Specialist shoe-repair shops dont even stock on rubber caps for heels.

Flat shoes are very comfortable and good for every-day wear. Some outfits, though deserve to be worn with heels.

Actually you're wrong there. Go to timpsons, they'll ask you what heel you would prefer when you go to get them replaced. I have replaced all my heels with rubber caps-not so much because of the noise-but because rubber heels take longer to get worn down whereas plastic heels wear down within weeks.

My friend actually got stopped by a guy who had a long beard, very self-righteous guy; he just randomly stopped her and gave her a long lecture saying what is the point of her covering her head but then wearing makeup and attracting attention by other means, according to him that defeats the purpose of wearing an hijaab-he quoted some hadith to her... my friend however got quite angry and proceeded in giving him an hadith, i dont know it exactly but it was to do with how anything other than the first glance is haram?

Surely the size of the heel is a matter of choice?

They dont ask you, you tell them what you want. The do offer rubber but its the same cheap crap that is put onto the heel when you first buy them. Your paying £5 to get the heel replaced with black rubber again and you wear them 3 or 4 times and the rubber is gone again. I got black metal (costs £6) put on mine but now they make too much noise.

Well they asked me and its been 2 months and only now they have started wearing down again so im going to get them replaced again perhaps next week. and mine cost £8 so perhaps they are a better quality... also when you buy heels from shops, they come with plastic caps on them not rubber and I wear heels literally everyday and i walk a lot and yet the rubber heels are still going quite strong.

LOL
heels do me good, im tinyy lmao. but i never wear them all the time, and ive never worn 5inch heels, stick to shorter heels, and never those that clip-clop. hate the sound haha everyone knows ur coming!

Why dont you just hem the bottom of the trousers? You can buy iron-on hemming as well, so no sewing necessary Smile

I think a balance needs to be reached. Your intentions should be clear, and I personally feel that most girls dont wear heels for the sake of attracting men - if anything, its worn for a plethora of other (shallow!) reasons (more dressier, confidence, height, etc). But continuing to wear a nice pair of heels, knowing that you are attracting attention to yourself is pretty guilty I would have thought? Dont we have a social obligation to encourage birr (goodness). A poor guy cant even lower his gaze now, because all he sees when he does are nice looking shoes/feet? Where is a guy supposed to look

Sometimes a simple pair of flip-flops can make your feet look good, in as much as heels can  So I say, wear beautiful shoes, but keep check on your modesty when outside - leave the more hot looking pair for your other half

High heels can actually damage the ground.

Chin up, mate! Life's too short.

Laminate flooring yes but how can you damage concrete with heels?

i can understand why people wear high heels, but what is the point of kitten heels? :?

i just wear flats, but if i could find a place that did rubber-tipping, i'd wear heels, some of them are soo cool!

'Allah gives and forgives
Man gets and forgets' Baba Ali

Nearly all my shoes have a high heel. My highest is 4 inches, couldn't walk in anything higher.

On the catwalks 6inch heels are all the rage but all the models walk really funny in them. Not a good advert IMO and they so distract from the ensembles because you are just drawn to their feet to see what's making them walk so weird.

I like high heeled shoes but I guess I wear them coz I'm 5'2''. Although I don't really have any issues about my height... I simply just like high heels. :?

I only have a couple of flat sandals and they are strictly for wearing inside my home only. Smile

I really dislike the ones that make a loud clip clop sound. They just seem very tarty. Fool They make me feel extremely uncomfortable and very self-conscious. I'd like to think none of mine fall into that category. Smile

Oooohh and someone on here who really does like high heels is erm Malik. A must for any of his wives to be, so he says. But, as determined in a past conversation, he doesn't like Louboutins.

(I hope that's ^^^ not backbiting... Sad :? I don't think he'd mind...)

This proves my theory
shoes aren't made to attrct men
they're there to attract the women that wear them and to make other women envious!
