A sincere request

Please a sincere request from a brother which I am forwarding:

Assalam Alaikum,

Dear Brother / sister,

As you may know, 'Jewel of Medina' is a fictional book portraying Hazrat Aisha (r) in a demeaning and pornographic way.

It is our duty to protect the honour and dignity of the Prophet Muhammad(pbuh) and his family & companions so it is my request to you to write to the following people and request that they do not publish or stock this book in the UK.

We don't wish to give any publicity to this book and are requesting a quiet but large email & letter campaign.

Please be polite but firm in your emails. Mention that the book is deeply offensive, has no basis in historical fact and has been described as pornographic and rubbish by reviewers. Also various publishing houses have refused to publish it. It is simply a money-making exercise by a third-rate author. Don't forget your MPs and Downing Street & forward to whom u like. Jzk...

Its a work of Fiction, a Novel.

If the publishers themselves wern't concerned about the content of the Book, they wouldn't have delayed its publication, a fair point to make.
The fact is that someone with so little knowlege of the true circumstances surrounding the relationship between Muhammed [Saws] and Aisha [Ra] shouldn't have the right to openly broach their opinion, having your opinion is fine, were all intital to it, its when we attempt to influence others with that warped opinion that I have a problem with.

Oh shut it! Have you read the book? If no, then how the flip do you know that it's what you say it is??

I have read a review which considered it to be pornographic, and made up events/backstabbing/manoeuvring to add "drama". So its more or less a book where the people share the same names, similar locations as the actual people, but not much else.

frankly i find your post rude wednesday.

Those who danced were thought to be quite insane, by those who couldn't hear the music...

Really? I found it thought provoking.
The phrase "never judge a book by its cover" comes to mind.

Another saying also comes into mind, dont judge a person before you have asked them. Shouldnt one ask whther they have actually read the book before laying into them?

Can we all wait for the book to come out, and those of you who may wish to read (including myself) can do so and then we'll decide whether the book was "utterly outrageous"; something to "warn Muslims"; somethinag that "made fun of Muslims and their history"; something that is a "deliberate misinterpretation of history"; or just "a mere burlesque" :?:

Thank you, and I won't say anything else jsut in case I am wrong  so I too must prevent myselef from making any remarks about the book...

However, before I shut meself, a few things... yes it has a little bit of the dodgie adult 'stuff' and yes it is female orientated BUT it is a story of a girl who got married at a very young age, and had to live through and with a number of 'sister wives' and the Husband happened to be the perfect man alive on the plannet (literally) ... ie. the Book is inspired and moodboarded around Ai'sha (RA) and the Prophet (PBUH) but it is not their LITERAL story! (because ofcourse no one knows that word for word, only what is written in the Hadiths about them and their relationship) - or so I'm aware

I agree Wednesday
yea wednesday went off on one lol
but shes entitled to her opinion
and besides
Muslims are beign attack all the time
this is nothing new

if the book is about aisha ra then well, what can I say...
if it's just based, then we can't start protesting like mad
freedom of speech and all that

Besides
it shows their ignorance
and we should pity them
the ONE thing they have to criticise our beloved prophet pbuh for is, not his policies or actions but the fact that he married a girl that was 9
consdering that it was the NORM in those days to marry young!
they need ot get out of their 21st century minds n think in 'back in those days' terms

I hope that made sense

I'm really tired and I can't think straight!

The publisher has 'postponed' the book - it's widely believed forever - and due to more important things happening in the world today no one is paying any attention to it, so you have achieved your aims already. Trying to start a campaign now is both irrelevant and counter-productive - you will only serve to make more people aware of the book and curious to read it, which is surely the opposite of what you want.

Would anyone here support a book about the Seerah of 'Isa (as) from the Muslim perspective, saying he wasn't the Son of God and wasn't crusified? I'm sure many people would.

If yes, then do you realise that it is the same Freedom of Speech laws which would allow such a book to be published and sold in Britain, even though it is a 'blasphemy' in Christianity (Christianity is still the largest religion in the UK, just).

We can compromise with people as much as we like, as long as we don't compromise OURSELVES.

Anyway, surely a book like this just gives us more opportunity to make da'wa to people about the Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam (Peace and Blessings be upon him) and Islam in general, no?

Don't just do something! Stand there.

Muslims already have a book that tells the truth about Jesus.

God's own work - The Holy Koran - says who eactly Jesus was.
God says Jesus was born of the virgin Mary.
That he was not God, nor son of God, not partner with God.
And that Jews did not kill him. And that God raised Jesus to Himself.

So you mean if it wasn't for Freedom of Speech, the Qur'an would be banned because it is blasphemy to Christians?! In that case I think we should all take to the streets to SUPPORT the release of Jewels of Madina, if only in order to keep bookshops stocking copies of the Qur'an too.

Don't just do something! Stand there.
