Google Chrome

The Browser wars are expanding and Google has just launched its foray into the war - Google Chrome.

I am posting this message using Chrome and I think I like it. It's fast and has a minimalist style.

It also seems to import all the settings from Firefox.

It has a few nice bells and whistles too - you can drag a tab to the desktop to open a new browser, and you can drag tabs between browsers. It is also supposedly better with web applications.

The url/address/omni bar is a little ugly with the large font and slight greying out bits of the url, but it is usable. Not as good as the Firefox "Awesome Bar".

From the options menu I chose to show the homepage button and not to give Google the permission to snoop (it already knows way too much about me!). A few more options whopuld have been nice, but overall, I like it.

Did I mention that it is fast?

It's good.

The past is an old armchair in the attic, the present an ominous ticking sound, and the future is anybody's guess.

Yup - just need a few more privacy options such as delete cookies on close etc etc.

Somethign not so good about Chrome - the EULA:
