BBQ!

Salams,

Finally managed to get my hands on the barbeque I was after. It's been out fo stock for weeks, but this mornig I managed to order it, and will be delivered on Friday. Here is the little beauty:

Anyone have tips on what I should be barbequing on Friday night?
Which coal is the best?
Any favourite recipes?
Anyone care to join me for a BBQ on Friday night?

You can get them frozen patties from Asda or any cash and carry. If your feeling adventuress you can always start from scratch. Get some keema (minced lamb or chicken) mix a bit of flour to make it a bit harder and make patties, bung them on the barbee, cook, stick in the bun and eat. Very Happy

i hate BBQd red meat! actually let me rephrase that... i hate red meat.

u can BBQ seekh kababs... fish n lemon with the skin on- not me fav!... marinated wings or full legs (chicken!)... or boneless chicken or lamb cubes along side peppers (use diff colours!) on skewers...

along side pineapple, corn, and olives in foil!

this season ppl hav been bringin out the dips with wedges or BBQ potato slices... gna try it meself wen it stops rainin!

I personally hate barbecued chicken legs. They are lethal nobody in familly can cook them right. It's salmonella on a plate basically. Doubt

how come you say you hate red meat and then recommend lamb?

O, and the trick for chicken is cook them first in the oven (to make sure they're cooked through), and then just finish them off on the barbecue so you get the buff taste.

That's kinda what Nandos do, and we can all agree that Nandos is tops.

This thread is making me hungry Shock I suppose dark knight already had his bbq, but I can give you some seriously GOOD tried and tested recipes for chicken, lamb etc. Best foods for a bbq: fattoush (type of salad), Jamaican jerk chicken, chicken/lamb seekh kebab, chicken/lamb tikka, and one of my favourties: Shawarma!

May Allah shine sweet faith upon you this day and times beyond. May your heart be enriched with peace, and may your home be blessed always. Ameen.

Thanks for this tip. We did exactly as suggested and the Nandos style barbeque chicken saved the day...as the seekh kebabs went a bit messy...they wouldnt stick to the seekhs, kept falling off.
