Friendship

How many muslims on the forum have non-muslim friends?

Especially christian or jewish or hindu?????

If not, why not? Social pressures?

IN MY CLASS THERES ONE HINDU GIRL AND THE REST ARE CHRISTIAN
THEY ARE REALLY GOOD PEOPLE WERE ALWAYS HAVING A LAUGH WITH EACH OTHER
P.S I'M THE ONLY GUY IN MY CLASS Very Happy

I have loads maybe too many.

Loads
I have a Sikh friend
a Christian
some atheists/agnostics

most are muslim

Most of my friends are non Muslims, atheists. I find it easier to make conversation with a non Muslim then a Muslim. I dont have a Jewish friend. Not that i dont want one its just that they dont want be my friend Sad. I remember back in uni we were put into groups to do a presentation and there was a Jewish guy in my group and when i spoke he would blank me out.

I have many non-Muslim friends, some who I have literally known since I was a baby.

But none have the same special bond that I have with my Muslim friends - even brothers who I've only known for a few months!

You become friends with someone when you have something in common with them, and what can be more important than a shared belief in the Oneness of Allah? SubhanAllah!

I find many of my non-Muslim friends shallow and boring to hang around. I don't hate them or anything, and I don't think that I'm 'better' than them; I just have a different perspective on life than I did until a few years ago, and I don't particularly want to be reminded of my earlier life thank you very much. I don't care HOW smashed you got on the weekend or how expensive your watch was or how much horse power your car has. I don't care who you're sleeping with or which pill you've popped. If you want to discuss the mysteries of the universe, then come back to me.

Most of my friends are Muslim. The exception are my uni friends, most of whom are atheists... I think.

They don't like talking about religion, and when they do they ask 'funny' questions like, 'Why do you pray so much?'

before i used to have muslim friends only...

but since uni ... the friend list hasa lil bit more diversity (sikh, shia, hindu, cathlic chritian (verys serious lady!), adn some abt whom i dont kno whether they r believers or no! i kno a few jewish believers but i wont sy they r my friends (kno em thru Palestine solidarity group that i told u lo abt!)) ... my muslim friends r closer to me... but the others are like uni friends (u kno wot i mean!)

I know what white is; I've seen black; I am grey, wishing to be colourless ...

At school I had way more non-muslim friends then muslim mates. College flipped tht big time but now @ uni I got more non-muslim mates then muslim mates (seriously like 99% of my mates here are either hindu or sikh). I did have a jewish mate...........10 years back. I think I've only met like a handful of jews in my life but I don't care what you are (unless your a scientologist then you can keep on walking) as long as ur safe ur safe.

i have a lot of freinds from diferent countries and religions most of them are muslims or christians i dont have jewish freinds but i do have freinds that im not sure about their religion

"to allah we belong and to him we return"

i had this freind in primary school who was a chritian but when i asked her she refused to admit it and kept on saying she was a muslim because she thought i wouldnt be her freind any more and also because that was a muslim country

"to allah we belong and to him we return"

I have Muslim, atheist, agnostic and Christian friends. We sometimes talk about religion and they are fairly open minded and non-judgemental. I don't really know any Jews.

Chin up, mate! Life's too short.

One thing i have noticed is that not a lot of ppl have Jewish friends. A think the main reasons for that are that you dont see many around (well i dont) and the very little you do tend to hang around with their own. I wonder where they all hang about. Maybe Joey could enlighten us.

Go to North London, there's loads! And they wear their traditional black clothes and hat.

I have both Christian, atheists, Muslim, Jewish and Hindu friends.

Ive almost got the whole collection. I just need an agnostic and a Buddhist friend.

Then togeather we shall take over the galaxy...hahahaha........... (sorry i think thats the medicine talking)

I think its really cool to have friends from different cultures and religions. The most interesting conversations take place between ppl of different backgrounds.

"to allah we belong and to him we return"

In my school days ALL my mates were non muslims (atheists)

since I started college I started to know more Muslims

I have mates from all backgrounds and religions: Muslims, christians, sikhs, atheists of all races black, asian, wjite and chinese

I think socially I get on with all of them but at the moment i find it easier to communicate with my muslim mates more

The conversations between all of us very different and interesting. we learn fro one another and are able to have a laff about our cultures and out traditions

Well in that case your probably gonna fail.

An agnostic isnt sure if god exists or not, an athiest has pretty much made up his mind that there is no god, or afterlife etc.

Why don't you tell her, that Muslims don't eat pork, bacon, ham or whatever you want to call it. And say something like: "We don't eat pig, just like you don't eat cows,"
Just don't lose it.

Chin up, mate! Life's too short.

CURIOUS!
Iv been offered them flavour crisps and been told they are suitable 4 vegs
and av seen for my self can we eat them? Another of my muslim friend says you can and im stil not sure u get put of by the name.

If it says "suitable for vegetarians" on the back then yeah you can. Like some chicken FLAVOUR noodles don't have chicken in them, they are veggie friendly.

Chin up, mate! Life's too short.

thanks thats settled my query

BUT THE FUNNY THING IS THAT SHE GOES TO MCDONALDS AND STILL EATS BIG MACS. AND HER FAMILY ARE STRICT VEGETARIANS. I'V ALSO SEEN ON THE WALKERS BACON FLAVOURED CRISPS THAT THEY ARE SUITABLE FOR VEGETARINS BUT I GET PUT OFF BY THE NAME.

Reminds me of something. In Law, this guy offered me some fruit pastels. I picked one as a relfex reaction. I didn't want to put it back now or eat it just incase. Luckily I was having some crisps at the time (Salt and Vinegar, not bacon!) so I snuck it into the packet and chucked it in the bin.
10 mins later he offered me another one, so I asked to look at the packet. But he said: "You already ate one."
Oh crap! I just said that I didn't eat it and it was here somewhere but I can't find it at the moment.
