Hip Hop, it has islamic roots, and I thank God for it. Throw your hands up for hip hop ppl, best music ever (after anything that promotes the will and rememberance of Allah swt, no matter what genre).

I know Hip Hop originated in NY..... didnt know it had Islamic roots?
I like Hip Hop because it is a form of social commentary. Some of it mentions stuggle, achievement etc etc which I relate to in some ways. It is also competitive.
Trying to pick my fave one.... thats so so hard. I think my fave is "Put you on the game" by The Game. Old school video, west coast ganster rap. Bad beat by Timbaland.

i think you should explain and give references to how you have concluded that it has islamic roots and how it promotes remembrance of Allah (swt).
i like music that has a message but modern day hip hop doesnt have a constructive message nor is it contextualising a social issue.

That's a gross generalisation.
Modern hip-hop (not including gangsta rap rubbish) is full of inspiring, positive, insightful messages. Just because it doesn't get in the charts doesn't mean it doesn't exist.
Compare it to the lyrics of RnB, Pop, Rock, Heavy Metal, Indie etc and it comes out top.
Plus, there are many Muslim rappers, so (some songs) make you remember your Creator (swt).

But Hip Hop my absolute favourite.

u talkin abt pure death metal? >> i heard some1 say that u wont like the 'raaah raah crap' coz u wont understand it...its like some1 keeps physics but doesnt understand the concept behind the quantum theory etc...
