Following on from last year’s highly successful “children around the prophet” course. Dr Hesham Al-Awadi will deliver a two day course titled “Women inspired by the beloved (peace be upon him) in central London on JULY 29th -30th.

This course will seek to dissect the vicitudes of history from the dawn of the Beloved messenger of God to our present day. The series of lectures will explore a variety of themes that stem from the legacy of Muslim women from youth, reform, scholarship, spirituality, to war, social dynamism, economic participation and even politics.

Students are taken on a fascinating journey of discovery regarding the role women played in different communities across the Islamic world. Studying the historical resources we find women involved in instances where very few Muslim men would even consider being the place of women.

This is not simply a narrative on 'righteous' women, but of 'unique' women: women who made a difference within their lives, families, communities and nations. Wise women, influential women, oppressed women who strove to establish the way of God. Without understanding their contribution and impact, the history of our past glories will always remain vague and incomplete
