INTRODUCTION TO TAFSIR

‘’ Understanding the meaning of the Majestic Quran’’

Gain a greater appreciation of how studying the language and context of Qur’anic chapters adds greater depth to the Understanding of Allah’s final revelation to mankind.

Classes start on: WEDNESDAY 26th January, 2011 7.30PM (Brothers & Sisters welcome)

Taught by: Shaykh Haroon Hanif (Greensville Trust)

following this class, lessons will be held, insha’Allah on the 4th wednesday of each month, where the Shaykh will begin to explain the meanings and lessons contained in the last portion of the Qur'an - Juz 'Amma. For those who have studied with Shaykh Haroon they can attest to his proficiency in Arabic, Usul, Aqida and his remarkable gift for teaching.

Venue Directions:

The classes take place at UCLan, Preston in the Harrington building (ROOM 129). Directions are as follows:

Enter the main front doors and walk towards the lift to the left of reception (which will be closed). Take the lift to the first floor. On leaving
the lift, turn left and follow the corridor around until you reach room 129 which will be to your left.

Teacher biography:

Shaykh Haroon studied Arabic for one year in France. Thereafter he returned to Liverpool and studied for over 10 years under the tutelage of Shaykh Siraj al-Deen. In 2007 he travelled to Syria to further his education where his teachers include Shaykh Muhammad Jum'ah, Shaykh Muhammad Derwesh and Shaykh Anas al-Hibri, Shaykh Samir an Nass.
