Ramadhan 2007

Asalaamalikum

with ramadhan approaching fast im just wondering has anyone started preparing- if so how..

ws

There still like 3 week yet. Dont really prepare as such just normally waitin around for the molvi to announce when ramazan starts. It always a shock every year coz in your mind you already got a date (13th sept) but then it turns out to be another date (normally earlier than i anticipated).

i kind of have start preparing for ramadan with the fasting side of things, so i insha'allah i wont find going without food hard at all. al-hidayah is at the end of this month so insha'allah that will be a big booster and will really get us geared up for ramadan.

When is it?

i'm surprised m4k4v3l1 didn't know that that is the same day 2pac died.

(i know SO many useless facts, my brain is like a poo-magnet).

Don't just do something! Stand there.

i do know that, it was a friday in las vegas and he was with suge knight in on las vegas strip lol
my driving test on that day... am scared now
this makaveli might die aswell lol

Do you mind if I ask if you're male or female M4k4v3l1?

Anyway, I can't wait for Ramadan! I think I've been waiting since the last one ended. I feel like I'm in need of a re-fuel. I really want to feel as inspired and motivated as I did when I first started praying and learning about Islam.

Inshallah, I've booked a few days off work so really want to make the most of my time. I want to just totally not worry about anything apart from doing as much ibadah as I can. There's always a really nice atmosphere in Ramadan, and I'm really looking forward to that, everyone just seems a lot more chilled. I can't wait!

I need a spiritual boost which no doubt will come next week at Al-Hidayah 2007 and inshallah Ramadhan will further perfect this.

shurup am not a girl
AM A BOYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY
i fink i need 2 change my name now

"ThiS WoRlD Iz A PrIsOn 4 A BeLiVeR AnD PaRaDiSe 4 A NoN-BeLiVeR.........."

Oh ok.

Why do you need to change your name for?

The name made me think you were male.

ooo thats oright then
most people think its a girls name for some reason

"ThiS WoRlD Iz A PrIsOn 4 A BeLiVeR AnD PaRaDiSe 4 A NoN-BeLiVeR.........."

shouldnt let ppl of this forum intimidate you. if you like the name stick with it. Everybody thought i was a guy (coz apprently naz is a guys name ((there only one guy i know called nas, that rapper but he spells it with an s!)), some ppl still insist on calling me a guy (yes i admit it did both me at first but now i dont care). But i did not bow down to their criticism and nor should you.

I dont know if this is true or not but they say on shab e barat that the god shakes the heavenly tree sidrat al-Muntaha to decide who will die the following year! Ive heard of ppl claiming that they have seen trees bending down to the ground as if bowing and if you see this then its a good sign. Anything you wish for will come true. Has anybody actually heard of this or is it just me?

i dunno i've never heard of this but in terms of looking for 'good omens' in trees bending down it sounds like SUPERSTITION.

i don't know about this case, but i DO know that if you believe that a black cat crossing your path is bad, or walking under a ladder or opening an umbrella indoors is bad, then you are commiting shirk.

this is a good du'aa:

“Allahumma Inna na'oodhu bika an nushrika bika shay'an na'lamuh, wa nastaghfiruka lima la na'lamuh”

O Allaah, we seek refuge in you from knowingly committing shirk with you and we ask your forgiveness for what we do not know about. {Ahmad and at-Tabaraanee]

I realise that what you mentioned may have nothing to do with superstition and if so, forgive me!

Don't just do something! Stand there.

Is there going to be a 'Lets Talk Show'? This year?

Is Ed gonna be on it again?

What you mean trees bowing down on Shab-e-baraat? Regarding Shab-e-baraat, yes Allah (swt) arranges the affairs of the coming year. Allah (swt) makes a list of those who will die and those who will preform Hajj. One should seek forgiveness on this night, there is so much blessing in it. I have a fairly detailed article type thing regarding the importance of this night in the light of hadith and sunnah. So if you wana have a read, PM me and i will send it to you Insha'allah.

As in literally trees bowing, but apprently its suppose to be real quick, in a blink of an eye. Dont know if there is any truth in it or its just superstitious. Mum was telling me when she were growing up in pak that ppl use to claim they had seen it bow/bend to touch the ground and whatever they wish for had come true.

ive tried to prepare myself by engaging in more dhikr and by sorting my sleeping pattern out.. i tend to drop after fajr and get up early and then find im tired all day.

At a study circle a sister also mentioned that its a good idea to ask for forgivness from peepz before ramdhan

Al Hidayah wil most definatly be by biggest boost/prep for ramadhan inshallah- can't wait. Smile

To be beautiful is to expect nothing in return.

I too am trying to sort out my sleep pattern. I've got in a very bad habit of sleeping very late, waking up for fajr and then sleeping again only to miss both my alarms. Or turn them off and doze off again. And since my bro's been off school, no mum to check if I'm up as she's been lying in. I've never been late for work... yet, thank God, but it means I've been rushing around a lot in the morning. From now on I'm going to try to go to sleep straight after praying isha, at its beginning time. Hhmmmm... Inshallah!

Going by how I felt today, I have a feeling these fasts are going to be a little tough, lol. I didn't feel hungry, but did feel quite dehydrated as I normally drink quite a lot of water throughout the day. I felt a little headache-y all today.

I'm going to try and stay up til fajr in the last 10 days this year inshallah. Hopefully it won't be so tough as the nights are pretty short and I'll be off work so can sleep in after fajr.

Can't wait for Ramadan to begin though.

I concur. Got to about 1 o'clock and i was starving but after reading namaz i felt ok. I think if you keep busy you dont notice it as much but if your sitting around at home the time drags.

May we all be amongst the uncountable souls who Allah (swt) will forgive on this great night of 15 Shaaban inshallah.
May Allah (swt) grant us all that is good for us and save us from all that is evil.
May your book of deeds begin with Rahmat and Barkat.
May all your duas be accepted.
May your Rizq be extended Ameen.

wana go to pakistan for the last 10 days of ramadan for itekaaf, too skint though Cray 2

really looking forward to ramadan, it's gona be great. reading tarweeh in jamat, the fasts, the extra nights of ibaadah and esp laylatul qadr. after coming back from Al-Hidayah, spiritually i think i'm ready for ramadan insha'Allah.

I know this sounds all wrong, but ten days in one place? I don't care HOW big the place is.

errr yah. it's all about the suhba admin, subha! when one is deep in the zhikr of Allah (swt), they forget about all things. they're busy drinking the wine of divine love.
