nike brand

i dont know if u PPL have heard dis before,

BUT it aint permissable to wear nike brand products.

because nike means in greek mythology ( goddess of victory)

the brand nike is associated with kufr and shirk SO therefore
its strictly prohibited for muslims to wear nike trainers and garments

so to those who have nike products it'll be best to remove the nike logos

from them, tell your mums to patch it up wiv sum cloth LOL.

also see what your SCHOLARS have ta say bout this,

my bro wont listen 2 me, i tell him its clearly HARAM but im gonna keep nagging him inshallah till he listens which i doubt.

SORRY but its somat to think about , i know it aint eazy to get rid of NIKE
one of debest brands out there

its named after an ancient greek god?

doesn't make it haraam, many things r named after all kindza things, most we dont knw about.

in fact many things 2day are named based on Ancient Greek and Roman myths.

ive heard it should be boycotted for other reasons, tru.

Interestingly, Shaykh Zia Ullah Khan said the swoosh tick has something to do with athiesm...

Never worn nike.

Not because of the name. That does nto make any dference.

But because it has shoddy quality, is expensive, and uses indonesians as virtual slave labour.

Don't think I've ever worn Nike either. Wherever I find the quality, like Converse All Star (canvas shoes) or something corduroy, non-leather is best. But it seems a bit silly to have issues with the name on the basis given.

Mars is named after the Roman god of war.

So no more Mars bars!

(That means that if they ever find a way of getting to the planet Mars Muslims won't be able to go unless they rename it (same goes for Jupiter)).

PS would anyone who responds to Aphrodite's posts be committing kufr?

lol, good point Irfghan.

your claim its not allowed was weak Naj, altho i still think theres other valid reasons for boycotting Nike

but i wont comment much, i reckon Nike make some decent stuff. if i can, i go for Adidas instead, but its not always the case.

so until a fatwa is passed...not throwing away my wardrobe away yet

I'll give you two out of three, I find the quality is pretty good.

Also I thought the Temple of NIKE was the acropyliss in Athens (temple of Athena patron of Athens) but thats it like the stone ring in salisbury is called stonehenge or the lop sided column in Italy is called Pizza, so in my opinion its okay.

Gentleness and kindness were never a part of anything except that it made it beautiful, and harshness was never a part of anything except that it made it ugly.

Through cheating, stealing, and lying, one may get required results but finally one becomes

2 out of three?

show me a quality nike product? one that is better then all products that are less than half its price?

just like YSL. shoddy as sin. bought some, and was very disapointed.

I try to stick to no name brands.

trainerwise, IMO best quality is reebok.

i agree, not a good enough reason naj.

Personally i find it silly that muslims find such things threatening.

Just remember we're not praying to the nike logo, we're not placing any relavance to it other than a clothes brand.

Sooo in retrospect.... Just Do it.

salaam

nike...haraam:-)
what next.... lion bar haram, because it has a picture on the wrapper Lol
sorry...i find it difficult to take this serious..
naj, i cant believe you said its Haraam, also that it is associated with kufr and shirk
is this also going to come under 'immitating the kufaar'.

its a trainer. end of. who cares what nike means. what does adidas, puma, umbro, coke, ben sherman, gucci, versaci mean?

i think naj, you are looking toooo deep in to this...

if you said that money earned by nike is going to Israel to fight the palestinians, or that the material might not be totally halaal, or that they used child slavery to make the trainers etc etc...you might have a point... but not because of what the name means...come on!

i will be interested to read the fatwas which are passed....

mashaALLAH Naj, gud post. I agree. Perhaps those who object to teh fatwa, should spend 8 years doing dars e nizami, then 2 years in takhassus in fatawa and spend a few more years in a darul iftaa, and THEN when they come out with their own fatwa, we can respect their views cos they mufit hazrat. but until then, im gonna stick with som1 who ACTUALLY knows what he is talking abt.

by the way the darse nizami course does not mean that it equipps you with all modern day issues facing the Muslims.

lol.

A non-entity in shariah dares to challenge the ulama, I find that most amusing. May ALLAH make his face shine, for he has made me happy. ameen

Whats even more "amusing" is how people easily shun and laugh at those who wish to better understand the subject bcoz they choose to ask questions rather than blindly beng lead.

apprently you cant wear reebok coz it spells kobeer backwards (i think the name is mentioned in the Qu'ran or something like that). Oh yeah an another one you shouldn't drink coke (the one you drink) because its made by a jewish company. I dont believe any of it but people go around sayin it.

No not the gum drop buttons! – Gingy

ppl go around saying it..... in emails!! i am so fed up with the number of idiotic emails i have recieved telling me to turn the coke logo the other way round and read it or summat.

i dont drink coke coz the company built a factory on palestinian land, NOT coz of some 'anti-islamic conspiracy'.

honestly ppl, there are more important things in life to b worrying about...

im glad to have made you smile....
i will always question, ask, analyse...i am not a sheep...
just because someone is a scholar it does not mean he is always an authority, and always right, and can never be wrong. There is no consensus on this issue, just because one individual has gave a fatwa, what authority does it hold...only ppl of his group /sect will follow it. no big deal.

The Prophets alayhim us salaatu was salaam are shepherds, the Ummah is there flock. When the Prophets are no longer present their heirs become the shepherds and the ummah remain the sheep.

Alhamdulillah I claim no knowledge or wisdom, I am a sheep. If ALLAH gifts me with knowledge and honours me with wisdom then perhaps I may be a shepherd boy but never more than that.

well you stay as a sheep....good luck
i on the other hand will not say how high when any scholar says 'jump'.
I also love, follow and respect ulema...u on the other hand just follow obsessively ulema from your sect ....and jump on the throats and throw accusations against those who disagree with them or dont automatically accept every single thing they say.

alhamdulillah Ahlus Sunnah wal Jama'ah have made the issue clear. What is it to us if Ahlul Bid'ah love to wear nike, its a free country they can wear what they like, lol.

the holy sectarian speaks again.
again the infamous 'ahl ul bidah'
yet another accusation..
keep it up...it seems that is all you have been taught...

when you get stuck in a corner...just shout ahlul bidah, shirk...to feel better
how sad...
