I quite dislike stingy ppl... its not soo much that i hate them i just dont want then to be alive any more.

But then, they've probably left all their money in a swiss bank account where you can't get a hold of it... and you'll have to pay for the funeral. Sucks don't it?

its part of being a miser that means that everyone will hate you-

cheapskates are never popular

and angel I too hate people who try to talk to me when I'm in no mood to talk...come to think of it-I'm NEVER in a mood to talk to anyone other then family

and I too HATE aunties who force me to eat

I'm far to vain to let myself go Fat-thats why I ALWAYS say NO even when they pull the gun out

I dislike people ringing me on my mobile 24/7.

Sometimes when I'm late cos I've missed the bus or cos I'm stuck in traffic my dad calls me non stop on my mobile.

Ringing me every 2min will not make me come home any faster.

Sometimes I wish the mobile wasnt invented.

I think that's why God let us invent 'off' buttons Blum 3 Lol

Lol!

God bless that "silent" option and the silly battery that keeps on going dead and switching the phone off...

Lol...I dont say anything. I always listen to his "daant" (telling off) quietly. He just assumes my battery goes dead when his calls gets forwarded to voicemail...and I don't correct him.

But I have took my mobile number off the speed dial at home and deleted it from his phone book....

That will prob make it worse.

if someone keeps on calling me on my phone-instead of ignoring it I just press "cancel" so it goes straight to voicemail and the person KNOWS that they've just been cut off

but whenver I go out i never take my phone with me

only to come home and hear "whats the point of having a mobile phone if ur not gonna take it with you"

well it is true... no point having one if you dont take it with you.

if i were you i'd leave a message on your answering machine... something on the lines of:

"i've just cut you off bcoz i cant b bothered to take the call... leave a message if you wish... but wont promise i'll check it."

im sure they'll get the idea.

.

yep-good idea

that should make my dad happy

i should record sumin like

"I've cut you off cos you KEEP ON RINGING ME...i hate being annoyed on my mobile...if u wanna speak to me just wait till i get home"

My fone is normally on silent which means i miss nearly all calls, sometimes i just avoid answering my fone cuz you know a certain friend likes to go and on and you dont have the patience to listen! My mate just called me now i sounded like i cudnt be bothered talkin, she took the hint.

Agree with tweedleduh dont buy books for your first yr unless you are goin to have to use it alot and that is the only book u will be usin (which i doubt). Also u can borrow them off the uni library or if you really really want a book then chek out your noticeboard to see if ppl are selling their old ones which they dont require. (i bought someones old books and they were in very good conditon and at a very low price)

Hey btw does anyone require an economics or poltics book which are in excellant conditon? (a lil fee of course)

Got a new tutor this year. He made me buy a £25 book because apparently 'it's right up my street'.

I bought too many books in the first year.

But here's a neat money saver. It is sometimes better to get the book from the library and photocopy the relavent pages rather than buy the whole book. Biggrin

Very good idea

u need 20 pages max, at 2p a page......from about £25 to 0.40p, quite a diff Smile

i have some Law books if anyone wants em....

When I was at uni we needed a book that cost over £100! And it needed to be ordered in advance...

...a photocopy of a full book is not copyright infringement.

"For too long, we have been a passively tolerant society, saying to our citizens 'as long as you obey the law, we will leave you alone'" - David Cameron, UK Prime Minister. 13 May 2015.

I noticed a lot of the hard sciences have expensive books up into the 100 echelon.

The social sciences tend to be less expensive - but there are always more assigned.

Does anybody else get miffed when a teacher assigns their book?!

I've got this one particular teacher that does that - and she charges 60 bucks for it!

That's absurd - that has to be breaking some sort of antimonopoly law.

just ask for a photocopy with a straight face.

my dad said that he'll get me the book from Pakiland

apparently u can get it from there "much cheaper" Blum 3

Wouldn't it just be the same price adjusted to devalued currency and inflation?
