The EU Referendum

BREXIT: Stay or leave, do not be fooled: this not about economic dangers.

As most of you are aware by now there will be a vote to decide will the UK stay in the EU or will the UK leave the EU. No doubt there will be columns of info for and against in the papers, television etc..

Just to start the ball rolling i have put a link to an article on the BREXIT you might find interesting, plus some of the comments and links provided might be of interest.

Myself i am not sure which way to jump Stay or Leave.

My initial thought is if we stay then we must be prepared to accept what ever the other EU members throw at us. Including closer union and probably adopting the Euro, standerdising of both taxes and benefits within the EU. [pay the highest taxes possible and be paid the lowest benefits that the administers of the EU can get away with?] Then again we will probably get this anyway even if we leave?

If we leave, can we go it alone. i believe that we import more from mainland europe then we export. So i can't see the EU rocking the boat too much. But we also export more to the rest of the world then we import from the rest of the world.

Also if we leave France, Germany as well as the UK are the largest contributors to the EU. So France and Germany will have to pick up our share. Or make severe cuts.

Will we either be offered some sweetner in exchange for another referendum with a vote to remain. [Denmark had two votes before adopting the Euro] so there is a prescident.

So i suggest you all have a think and get as much info from as manner sources as possible. Whatever he outcome you will have to live with it for a long while.

For me it is less of a question of can we go it alone than who has a better track record.

The EU has a better track record of forcing through changes that benefit consumers and citizens.

I feel that a lot of legislation that has been passed to protect my rights has been because of the EU and often against the polulist agenda that Cameron and his chronies try to follow.

"For too long, we have been a passively tolerant society, saying to our citizens 'as long as you obey the law, we will leave you alone'" - David Cameron, UK Prime Minister. 13 May 2015.
