Divorce

What is the ruling of a man who divorced his wife to marry a woman whom he has been having an affair with? The new wife asked him to divorce his first wife if he wants to marry her (new wife). How does islam view both husband and this new wife? What about other people including friends and family who knew about the affairs and divorce but nobody intervene because they think its none of their business? In fact they attended the wedding as if it was event of the century. The man did not even tell his ex wife and their teenage kids about the wedding and they found out from third party. Does the man need to tell in advance of his remarrying to his teenage kids who couldn't even handle the divorce?

I am not a scholar.

While it sounds like a sorry state of affairs, once he is divorced from his first wife, there is nothing preventing him from marrying someone else - whether he was having an affair with the new woman or not.

As You said and I agree, I am not a Scholar, but;

As I understand in the Sharia the punishment for adultery is death by stoning, ditto in Jewish Law. There have countless cases where a woman as been raped, yet she has been stoned for adultery?

According to Islamic Scholars Woman and Men are treated the same?

Two simple questions, if Islam is not to be thought of as a male centric religion that treats woman as second class.

1] Why the deathly silence from Woman in the Muslim faith, as well as men?

2] Why is the man who is obviously guilty of adultery, by self-admission and also the knowledge of his community not condemned for adultery and facing punishment?

Now what does Jesus say about adultery?

John 8:1-11

A Woman Caught in Adultery

Jesus returned to the Mount of Olives, but early the next morning he was back again at the Temple. A crowd soon gathered, and he sat down and taught them. As he was speaking, the teachers of religious law and the Pharisees brought a woman who had been caught in the act of adultery. They put her in front of the crowd.

“Teacher,” they said to Jesus, “this woman was caught in the act of adultery. The law of Moses says to stone her. What do you say?”

They were trying to trap him into saying something they could use against him, but Jesus stooped down and wrote in the dust with his finger. They kept demanding an answer, so he stood up again and said, “All right, but let the one who has never sinned throw the first stone!” Then he stooped down again and wrote in the dust.

When the accusers heard this, they slipped away one by one, beginning with the oldest, until only Jesus was left in the middle of the crowd with the woman. Then Jesus stood up again and said to the woman, “Where are your accusers? Didn’t even one of them condemn you?”

 “No, Lord,” she said.

And Jesus said, “Neither do I. Go and sin no more.”

That is mainly because this site is mostly dead - I do not know how long I should keep it going, as right now it does not seem to be serving a purpose other than emptying my pockets.

Sorry to hear that, yet you seem to get new members on a regular basis?

Maybe i should be a bit controversal?

Example; How wonderful and tolerant Christianity is compared to Islam? Or put a few links to anti-Islam sites.

It might stimulate an interest?

Like most things in life people only value things if they might think that they will lose them.

But please don't try to get too down hearted. You have a site that is tolerant and open to views of others, yes you fight your corner, but listen to other viewpoints.

If you only mix with people of the same ideas [preaching to the converted] how can you spread ideas of tolerence to a wider community.

ROFL

It would be good if you did. We have a few regular people who visit less regualrly than before than the odd new member that seems to come on for a few hours to a day or so.

and then the robot spammers who are a lot more punctual.

From what I hear, the i busier, but I don't use facebook so I cannot confirm.

Anyone in their right mind knows that the man has behaved despicably. Anyone who excuses this has a twisted system. A community whose scholars, legislators and judges have some excuse for that, is a bad place to raise children.
